1 N ow that we have been made right with God by putting our trust in Him, we have peace with Him. It is because of what our Lord Jesus Christ did for us.

Justificados, pues, por la fe, tenemos paz para con Dios por medio de nuestro Señor Jesucristo,

2 B y putting our trust in God, He has given us His loving-favor and has received us. We are happy for the hope we have of sharing the shining-greatness of God.

por quien también tenemos entrada por la fe a esta gracia en la cual estamos firmes, y nos gloriamos en la esperanza de la gloria de Dios.

3 W e are glad for our troubles also. We know that troubles help us learn not to give up.

Y no sólo esto, sino que también nos gloriamos en las tribulaciones, sabiendo que la tribulación produce paciencia;

4 W hen we have learned not to give up, it shows we have stood the test. When we have stood the test, it gives us hope.

y la paciencia, prueba; y la prueba, esperanza;

5 H ope never makes us ashamed because the love of God has come into our hearts through the Holy Spirit Who was given to us.

y la esperanza no nos defrauda, porque el amor de Dios ha sido derramado en nuestros corazones por el Espíritu Santo que nos fue dado.

6 W e were weak and could not help ourselves. Then Christ came at the right time and gave His life for all sinners.

Cristo, cuando aún éramos débiles, a su tiempo murió por los impíos.

7 N o one is willing to die for another person, but for a good man someone might be willing to die.

Ciertamente, apenas morirá alguno por un justo; con todo, pudiera ser que alguien tuviera el valor de morir por el bueno.

8 B ut God showed His love to us. While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Pero Dios muestra su amor para con nosotros, en que siendo aún pecadores, Cristo murió por nosotros.

9 N ow that we have been saved from the punishment of sin by the blood of Christ, He will save us from God’s anger also.

Con mucha más razón, habiendo sido ya justificados en su sangre, por él seremos salvos de la ira,

10 W e hated God. But we were saved from the punishment of sin by the death of Christ. He has brought us back to God and we will be saved by His life.

porque, si siendo enemigos, fuimos reconciliados con Dios por la muerte de su Hijo, mucho más, estando reconciliados, seremos salvos por su vida.

11 N ot only that, we give thanks to God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through Him we have been brought back to God.

Y no sólo esto, sino que también nos gloriamos en Dios por el Señor nuestro Jesucristo, por quien hemos recibido ahora la reconciliación. Adán y Cristo

12 T his is what happened: Sin came into the world by one man, Adam. Sin brought death with it. Death spread to all men because all have sinned.

Por tanto, como el pecado entró en el mundo por un hombre y por el pecado la muerte, así la muerte pasó a todos los hombres, por cuanto todos pecaron.

13 S in was in the world before the Law was given. But sin is not held against a person when there is no Law.

Antes de la Ley ya había pecado en el mundo; pero donde no hay Ley, no se inculpa de pecado.

14 A nd yet death had power over men from the time of Adam until the time of Moses. Even the power of death was over those who had not sinned in the same way Adam sinned. Adam was like the One Who was to come.

No obstante, reinó la muerte desde Adán hasta Moisés, aun en los que no pecaron a la manera de la transgresión de Adán, el cual es figura del que había de venir.

15 G od’s free gift is not like the sin of Adam. Many people died because of the sin of this one man, Adam. But the loving-favor of God came to many people also. This gift came also by one Man Jesus Christ, God’s Son.

Pero el don no fue como la transgresión, porque si por la transgresión de aquel uno muchos murieron, la gracia y el don de Dios abundaron para muchos por la gracia de un solo hombre, Jesucristo.

16 T he free gift of God is not like Adam’s sin. God told Adam he was guilty because of his sin and through this one came sin and guilt. But the free gift makes men right with God. Through One, Christ, men’s sins are forgiven.

Y con el don no sucede como en el caso de aquel uno que pecó, porque, ciertamente, el juicio vino a causa de un solo pecado para condenación, pero el don vino a causa de muchas transgresiones para justificación.

17 T he power of death was over all men because of the sin of one man, Adam. But many people will receive His loving-favor and the gift of being made right with God. They will have power in life by Jesus Christ.

Si por la transgresión de uno solo reinó la muerte, mucho más reinarán en vida por uno solo, Jesucristo, los que reciben la abundancia de la gracia y del don de la justicia.

18 T hrough Adam’s sin, death and hell came to all men. But another Man, Christ, by His right act makes men free and gives them life.

Así que, como por la transgresión de uno vino la condenación a todos los hombres, de la misma manera por la justicia de uno vino a todos los hombres la justificación que produce vida.

19 A dam did not obey God, and many people become sinners through him. Christ obeyed God and makes many people right with Himself.

Así como por la desobediencia de un hombre muchos fueron constituidos pecadores, así también por la obediencia de uno, muchos serán constituidos justos.

20 S in spread when the Law was given. But where sin spread, God’s loving-favor spread all the more.

La Ley, pues, se introdujo para que el pecado abundara; pero cuando el pecado abundó, sobreabundó la gracia,

21 S in had power that ended in death. Now, God’s loving-favor has power to make men right with Himself. It gives life that lasts forever. Our Lord Jesus Christ did this for us.

porque así como el pecado reinó para muerte, así también la gracia reinará por la justicia para vida eterna mediante Jesucristo, Señor nuestro.
