Oíd esta palabra, vacas de Basán, que estáis en el monte de Samaria, que oprimís a los pobres y quebrantáis a los menesterosos, que decís a vuestros señores: «Traed de beber.»

Os hice pasar hambre en todas vuestras ciudades y hubo falta de pan en todos vuestros pueblos; mas no os volvisteis a mí, dice Jehová.
7 “ I kept the rain from you while there were still three months until gathering time. Then I would send rain on one city, but would send no rain on another city. One part would receive rain, while the part which did not receive rain would dry up.
También os detuve la lluvia tres meses antes de la siega; hice llover sobre una ciudad y sobre otra ciudad no hice llover; sobre una parte llovió, y la parte sobre la cual no llovió se secó.
8 P eople would go from city to city to drink water, but would not get enough. Yet you have not returned to Me,” says the Lord.
Venían entonces dos o tres ciudades a una ciudad para beber agua, y no se saciaban. Con todo, no os volvisteis a mí, dice Jehová.
9 “ I sent hot wind to dry up your fields. The locust destroyed your many gardens and grape-fields, fig trees and olive trees. Yet you have not returned to Me,” says the Lord.
Os herí con viento del este y con oruga; la langosta devoró vuestros muchos huertos y vuestras viñas, vuestros higuerales y vuestros olivares, pero nunca os volvisteis a mí, dice Jehová.
10 “ I sent a very bad disease upon you as I had done to Egypt. I killed your young men with the sword and took your horses away. I filled your nose with the bad smell of your camp. Yet you have not returned to Me,” says the Lord.
Envié contra vosotros mortandad tal como en Egipto; maté a espada a vuestros jóvenes, vuestros caballos fueron capturados e hice subir el hedor de vuestros campamentos hasta vuestras narices; mas no os volvisteis a mí, dice Jehová.
11 “ I destroyed some of you as I destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. You were like a burning stick pulled out of the fire. Yet you have not returned to Me,” says the Lord.
Os trastorné como Dios trastornó a Sodoma y a Gomorra, y fuisteis como tizón escapado del fuego; mas no os volvisteis a mí, dice Jehová.
12 “ So I will do this to you, O Israel. And because I will do this to you, get ready to meet your God, O Israel.”
Por eso, Israel, haré lo mismo contigo; y porque te he de hacer esto, prepárate, Israel, para venir al encuentro de tu Dios.
13 H e is the One Who makes the mountains and the wind. He makes His thoughts known to man. He turns the morning into darkness, and walks on the high places of the earth. The Lord God of All is His name.
Ciertamente el que forma los montes y crea el viento, el que anuncia al hombre su pensamiento, hace de las tinieblas mañana y pasa sobre las alturas de la tierra: Jehová, Dios de los ejércitos, es su nombre.
