1 O n the first day of the twelfth month in the twelfth year, the Word of the Lord came to me saying,

Aconteció en el año duodécimo, en el mes duodécimo, el día primero del mes, que vino a mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo:

2 “ Son of man, sing a song of sorrow for Pharaoh king of Egypt, and say to him, ‘You compared yourself to a young lion among the nations, yet you are like the big dragon in the seas. You go through your rivers, troubling the water with your feet and making the rivers muddy.’”

«Hijo de hombre, entona una lamentación por el faraón, rey de Egipto, y dile: »“A leoncillo de naciones eres semejante, y eres como el dragón en los mares; pues secabas tus ríos, enturbiabas las aguas con tus pies y pisoteabas sus riberas.

3 T he Lord God says, “Now I will throw My net over you with an army of many nations. They will lift you up in My net.

»”Así ha dicho Jehová, el Señor: Yo extenderé sobre ti mi red con la reunión de muchos pueblos, y te harán subir con mi red.

4 A nd I will leave you on the land. I will throw you on the open field. I will have all the birds of the air live on you. And I will feed you to the wild animals of the earth.

»”Te echaré por tierra, te echaré sobre la faz del campo, haré que se posen sobre ti todas las aves del cielo, y saciaré de ti a todas las fieras de la tierra.

5 I will lay your flesh on the mountains, and fill the valleys with what is left of you.

Pondré tus carnes sobre los montes y llenaré los valles con tus cadáveres.

6 I will make the land drink your flowing blood as far as the mountains, and the deep valleys will be full of you.

Regaré con tu sangre la tierra donde nadas, hasta los montes, y los arroyos se llenarán de ti.

7 W hen I destroy you, I will cover the heavens and make the stars dark. I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon will not give its light.

Cuando te haya extinguido, cubriré los cielos y haré oscurecer sus estrellas; el sol cubriré con nublado y la luz de la luna no resplandecerá.

8 I will make all the shining lights in the heavens dark over you, and bring darkness upon your land,” says the Lord God.

Haré que por ti se oscurezcan todos los astros brillantes del cielo, y pondré tinieblas sobre tu tierra”, dice Jehová, el Señor.

9 “ I will trouble the hearts of many people when I destroy you among the nations, among lands you have not known.

»Entristeceré el corazón de muchos pueblos cuando lleve al cautiverio a los tuyos entre las naciones, por los países que no has conocido.

10 I will fill many nations with fear and wonder because of you. Their kings will shake in fear for you when I wave My sword in front of them. Every man will keep shaking in fear for his own life, on the day you are destroyed.”

Dejaré atónitos por ti a muchos pueblos, y sus reyes tendrán horror grande a causa de ti, cuando haga resplandecer mi espada ante sus rostros; y todos temblarán a cada instante en el día de tu caída,

11 F or the Lord God says, “The sword of the king of Babylon will come against you.

porque así ha dicho Jehová, el Señor: »La espada del rey de Babilonia vendrá sobre ti.

12 I will cause your people to be killed by the swords of powerful men who will have no pity, all of them strong rulers of the nations. They will destroy the pride of Egypt and kill all its people.

Con espadas de fuertes haré que caiga tu pueblo; todos ellos serán los poderosos de las naciones. Destruirán la soberbia de Egipto y toda su multitud será deshecha.

13 I will also destroy all its cattle from beside many waters. No foot of man or animal will fill them with mud any more.

Todas sus bestias destruiré de sobre las muchas aguas; ya no las enturbiará ni pie de hombre ni pezuña de bestia.

14 I will make their waters clear and make their rivers flow like oil,” says the Lord God.

Entonces haré asentarse sus aguas y haré correr sus ríos como aceite, dice Jehová, el Señor.

15 “ When I destroy the land of Egypt and take from the land everything that was in it, and when I punish all who live there, then they will know that I am the Lord.

Cuando deje asolado el país de Egipto, y el país quede despojado de todo cuanto hay en él; cuando mate a todos los que en él moran, sabrán que yo soy Jehová.

16 T his is the song of sorrow they will sing. The women of the nations will sing it. They will sing it over Egypt and all her people,” says the Lord God. The Place of the Dead

»Ésta es la lamentación que cantarán. Las hijas de las naciones la cantarán; entonarán la lamentación por Egipto y por toda la multitud, dice Jehová, el Señor.»

17 I n the twelfth year, on the fifteenth of the month, the Word of the Lord came to me saying,

Aconteció en el año duodécimo, a los quince días del mes, que vino a mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo:

18 “ Son of man, cry in a loud voice for the people of Egypt. Send them down with the powerful nations to the place of the dead, with those who go down to the grave.

«Hijo de hombre, entona una lamentación por la multitud de Egipto; y despéñalo a él y a las hijas de las naciones poderosas, a lo profundo de la tierra, con los que descienden a la sepultura.

19 S ay to them, ‘Do you think you are more favored than anyone else? Go down and make your bed with the sinful.’

“¿Acaso eres más hermoso que los otros? ¡Pues desciende y yace en la fosa con los incircuncisos!”

20 T hey will fall among those who are killed by the sword. The sword is ready to kill all of Egypt’s people.

»Entre los muertos a espada caerá; a la espada es entregado. ¡Traedlo a él y a todos sus pueblos!

21 F rom the place of the dead the powerful leaders will say of Egypt and her helpers, ‘They have come down. They lie with the sinful, with those killed by the sword.’

De en medio del seol le hablarán los fuertes de los fuertes, junto con sus aliados, los que descendieron y yacen con los incircuncisos muertos a espada.

22 “ Assyria is there, with all of her army. All around her are the graves of her dead, who have been killed by the sword.

»Allí está Asiria con toda su multitud; a su alrededor están sus sepulcros; todos ellos cayeron muertos a espada.

23 T heir graves lie in the farthest parts of the place of the dead. Her army is around her grave. All who had spread fear in the land of the living are dead, killed by the sword.

Sus sepulcros fueron puestos a los lados de la fosa, y su gente está por los alrededores de su sepulcro; todos ellos cayeron muertos a espada, los que sembraron el terror en la tierra de los vivientes.

24 “ Elam is there, with all of her people around her grave. All of them are dead, killed by the sword. They have gone to the lower parts of the earth having not gone through the religious act of the Jews. They filled the land of the living with fear, and carried their shame with those who went down to the place of the dead.

»Allí está Elam con toda su multitud por los alrededores de su sepulcro. Todos ellos cayeron muertos a espada y descendieron incircuncisos a lo más profundo de la tierra, porque sembraron su terror en la tierra de los vivientes, mas llevaron su ignominia con los que descienden al sepulcro.

25 A bed is made for her among the dead with all her people. Their graves are around her. They are all sinful people, killed by the sword. They spread fear in the land of the living, and were put to shame with those who go down to the place of the dead and are among the dead.

En medio de los muertos le pusieron lecho, con toda su multitud; a sus alrededores están sus sepulcros; todos ellos incircuncisos, muertos a espada, porque fue puesto su espanto en la tierra de los vivientes, mas llevaron su ignominia con los que descienden al sepulcro; él fue puesto en medio de los muertos.

26 “ Meshech and Tubal are there, with all their people. Their graves are around them. All of them are sinful, killed by the sword, for they had spread fear in the land of the living.

»Allí están Mesec y Tubal, con toda su multitud; a sus alrededores están sus sepulcros; todos ellos incircuncisos, muertos a espada, porque habían sembrado su terror en la tierra de los vivientes.

27 T hey do not lie beside the graves of the powerful men of long ago, who went down to the place of the dead with their swords of war, whose swords were laid under their heads. But the punishment for their sin rested on their bones. For the fear of these powerful men was once in the land of the living.

No yacerán con los fuertes de los incircuncisos que cayeron, los que descendieron al seol con sus armas de guerra y sus espadas puestas debajo de sus cabezas; mas sus maldades estarán sobre sus huesos, por cuanto fueron el terror de los fuertes en la tierra de los vivientes.

28 Y ou too, O Pharaoh, will be broken and lie among the sinful, with those killed by the sword.

Tú, pues, serás quebrantado entre los incircuncisos y yacerás con los muertos a espada.

29 “ Edom is there, with its kings and all its leaders. Even with all their power they are laid with those killed by the sword. They lie with the sinful, with those who go down to the place of the dead.

»Allí está Edom, con sus reyes y todos sus príncipes, quienes con su poderío fueron puestos con los muertos a espada; ellos yacerán con los incircuncisos, con los que descienden al sepulcro.

30 “ All the leaders of the north and all the Sidonians are there. Even with the fear they caused by their power, they went down with the dead in shame. They lie as sinful people with those killed by the sword. They carried their shame with those who go down to the place of the dead.

»Allí están los gobernantes del norte, todos ellos, y todos los sidonios, que con su terror descendieron con los muertos; avergonzados de su poderío, yacen también incircuncisos con los muertos a espada y comparten su ignominia con los que descienden al sepulcro.

31 “ When Pharaoh and his army see them, they will be comforted for all his people who were killed by the sword,” says the Lord God.

»A estos verá el faraón, y se consolará sobre toda su multitud: al faraón muerto a espada, y todo su ejército, dice Jehová, el Señor.

32 “ I spread fear of him in the land of the living, yet Pharaoh and all his people will be laid among the sinful, with those killed by the sword,” says the Lord God.

Porque puse mi terror en la tierra de los vivientes, también el faraón y toda su multitud yacerán entre los incircuncisos, con los muertos a espada, dice Jehová, el Señor.»
