1 N ow Joshua was old. He had lived many years. The Lord said to him, “You are old and have lived many years. And there is very much land yet to be taken.

Josué era ya viejo, entrado en años, cuando Jehová le dijo: «Tú eres ya viejo, de edad avanzada, y queda aún mucha tierra por poseer.

2 T his is the land that is left. There is all the land of the Philistines and the Geshurites,

Ésta es la tierra que queda: todos los territorios de los filisteos y de los gesureos,

3 f rom the Shihor east of Egypt as far as the land of Ekron in the north (it is thought of as Canaanite). There are the five rulers of the Philistines, those of Gaza, Ashdod, Ashkelon, Gath, Ekron, and those of the Avvim.

desde Sihor, que está al oriente de Egipto, hasta el límite de Ecrón por el norte, que se considera de los cananeos; los cinco principados de los filisteos, el gazeo, el asdodeo, el ascaloneo, el geteo y el ecroneo; también los aveos,

4 I n the south, there is all the land of the Canaanite, and Mearah that belongs to the Sidonians, as far as Aphek, to the land of the Amorite,

que están al sur. Toda la tierra de los cananeos, y Mehara, que es de los sidonios, hasta Afec y hasta los límites del amorreo;

5 a nd the land of the Gebalite. There is all of Lebanon east from Baal-gad at the base of Mount Hermon as far as Lebo-hamath.

la tierra de los giblitas, con todo el Líbano hacia donde sale el sol, desde Baal-gad, al pie del monte Hermón, hasta la entrada de Hamat.

6 I will drive out from in front of the people of Israel all those living in the hill country from Lebanon as far as Misrephoth-maim, all the Sidonians. Give the land as a gift to Israel, as I have told you.

Yo expulsaré de la presencia de los hijos de Israel a todos los que habitan en las montañas desde el Líbano hasta Misrefot-maim, y a todos los sidonios. Tú solamente repartirás por suertes el país a los israelitas como heredad, conforme te he mandado.

7 D ivide this land for a gift to the nine families and to the half-family group of Manasseh.”

Reparte, pues, ahora esta tierra como heredad a las nueve tribus y a la media tribu de Manasés.»

8 T he other half-family group, the Reubenites and the Gadites received their gift of land which Moses gave them east of the Jordan, just as the Lord’s servant Moses gave it to them.

Porque la otra media tribu de Manasés, los rubenitas y los gaditas habían recibido ya la heredad que les dio Moisés al otro lado del Jordán, al oriente, según el reparto de Moisés, siervo de Jehová:

9 I t spread from Aroer, beside the Arnon valley, and the city in the center of the valley, and the plain of Medeba as far as Dibon,

desde Aroer, a orillas del arroyo Arnón, con la ciudad que está en medio del valle y toda la llanura de Medeba, hasta Dibón;

10 a nd all the cities of Sihon king of the Amorites, who ruled in Heshbon. And it went as far as the land of the Ammonites,

todas las ciudades de Sehón, rey de los amorreos, el cual reinó en Hesbón, hasta los límites de los hijos de Amón;

11 a nd Gilead, and the land of the Geshurites and Maacathites. They received all Mount Hermon, all Bashan as far as Salecah,

Galaad, los territorios de los gesureos y los maacateos, todo el monte Hermón y toda la tierra de Basán hasta Salca;

12 a nd all the nation of Og in Bashan, who ruled in Ashtaroth and Edrei. (He alone was left of the Rephaim still living.) For Moses had won the war against them and had driven them out.

y en Basán todo el reino de Og, que reinó en Astarot y en Edrei, y era el último sobreviviente de los refaítas, pues Moisés los había derrotado y expulsado.

13 B ut the people of Israel did not drive out the Geshurites or the Maacathites. For Geshur and Maacath live among Israel to this day.

Pero a los gesureos y a los maacateos no los expulsaron los hijos de Israel, sino que Gesur y Maaca habitaron entre los israelitas hasta hoy. Los territorios que Moisés distribuyó

14 M oses did not give any land to the family of Levi. Gifts given on the altar to the Lord, the God of Israel, are their share, as He said to him.

Pero a la tribu de Leví no le dio heredad; los sacrificios de Jehová, Dios de Israel, son su heredad, como él les había dicho.

15 M oses gave land to the family group of the Reubenites by their families.

Dio, pues, Moisés a la tribu de los hijos de Rubén conforme a sus familias.

16 T heir land was from Aroer beside the Arnon valley, and the city in the center of the valley, and all the plain by Medeba,

Su territorio iba desde Aroer, que está a la orilla del arroyo Arnón, con la ciudad que está en medio del valle y toda la llanura hasta Medeba;

17 w ith Heshbon and all its cities on the plain. There was Dibon, Bamoth-baal, Bethbaal-meon,

Hesbón, con todas las ciudades que están en la llanura; Dibón, Bamot-baal, Bet-baal-meón,

18 J ahaz, Kedemoth, Mephaath,

Jahaza, Cademot, Mefaat,

19 K iriathaim, Sibmah. There was Zereth-shahar on the hill of the valley,

Quiriataim, Sibma, Zaret-sahar en el monte del valle,

20 B eth-peor, the hill-sides of Pishgah, and Beth-jeshimoth.

Bet-peor, las laderas de Pisga, Bet-jesimot,

21 T here were all the cities of the plain, and all the nation of Sihon king of the Amorites who ruled in Heshbon. Moses won the war against Sihon and the leaders of Midian, Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba, the princes of Sihon, who lived in the land.

todas las ciudades de la llanura y todo el reino de Sehón, rey de los amorreos, que reinó en Hesbón y a quien derrotó Moisés, lo mismo que a los príncipes de Madián, Evi, Requem, Zur, Hur y Reba, príncipes de Sehón que habitaban en aquella tierra.

22 T he sons of Israel also killed with the sword Balaam, the son of Beor, the one who told what would happen in the future.

También pasaron a espada los hijos de Israel, entre otras víctimas, a Balaam, el adivino, hijo de Beor.

23 T he side of the land belonging to the people of Reuben was the Jordan. This is what was given to the people of Reuben for their families with their cities and towns.

Y el Jordán servía de límite al territorio de los hijos de Rubén. Ésta fue la heredad de los hijos de Rubén conforme a sus familias, con sus ciudades y sus aldeas.

24 M oses gave land to the family group of the Gadites for their families.

Dio asimismo Moisés a la tribu de Gad, a los hijos de Gad, conforme a sus familias.

25 T heir land was Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead. And it was half the land of the Ammonites, as far as Aroer which is east of Rabbah.

Su territorio fue Jazer, todas las ciudades de Galaad, la mitad de la tierra de los hijos de Amón hasta Aroer, que está enfrente de Rabá,

26 I t went from Heshbon as far as Ramath-mizpeh and Betonim, and from Mahanaim as far as the land of Debir.

y desde Hesbón hasta Ramat-mizpa y Betonim, y desde Mahanaim hasta el límite de Debir;

27 I n the valley there was Bethharam, Beth-nimrah, Succoth, and Zaphon. They were given the rest of the nation of Sihon king of Heshbon, with the Jordan along its side. It went up to the south end of the Sea of Chinnereth east of the Jordan.

y en el valle, Bet-aram, Bet-nimra, Sucot y Zafón —el resto del reino de Sehón, rey de Hesbón—, el Jordán y su límite hasta el extremo del mar de Cineret al otro lado del Jordán, al oriente.

28 T his is what was given to the people of Gad for their families with their cities and towns.

Ésta es la heredad de los hijos de Gad por sus familias, con sus ciudades y sus aldeas.

29 M oses gave land to the half-family group of Manasseh. It was divided among the families of the half-family group of the sons of Manasseh.

También dio Moisés su heredad a la media tribu de Manasés, que fue para la media tribu de los hijos de Manasés, conforme a sus familias.

30 T heir land was from Mahanaim through all Bashan, all the nation of Og king of Bashan. It was all the towns of Jair which are in Bashan, sixty cities.

Su territorio iba desde Mahanaim, y comprendía todo Basán, todo el reino de Og, rey de Basán, todas las aldeas de Jair que están en Basán: sesenta poblaciones.

31 I t was half of Gilead, and Ashtaroth and Edrei, the cities of the nation of Og in Bashan. These were given to the people of Machir the son of Manasseh, for half of the sons of Machir by their families.

La mitad de Galaad, Astarot y Edrei, ciudades del reino de Og en Basán, pasaron a la mitad de los hijos de Maquir hijo de Manasés, conforme a sus familias.

32 T hese are the lands which Moses divided in the plains of Moab on the other side of the Jordan east of Jericho.

Esto es lo que Moisés repartió como heredad en los llanos de Moab, al otro lado del Jordán, al oriente de Jericó.

33 B ut Moses did not give any land to the family of Levi. The Lord, the God of Israel, is their share, as He had told them.

Pero a la tribu de Leví no le dio Moisés heredad; Jehová, Dios de Israel, es su heredad, como él les había dicho.
