1 “ Son of man, speak in My name to the mountains of Israel. Say, ‘O mountains of Israel, hear the Word of the Lord.

»Tú, hijo de hombre, profetiza a los montes de Israel, y di: “¡Montes de Israel, oíd palabra de Jehová!

2 T he Lord God says, “Those who hate you have laughed and spoken against you, saying, ‘The old hills now belong to us.’

Así ha dicho Jehová, el Señor: Por cuanto el enemigo dijo de vosotros: ‘¡Ea! también las alturas eternas nos han sido dadas por heredad’;

3 S o tell the mountains of Israel, ‘The Lord God says, “They have made you a waste land, and destroyed you from every side. You were taken by the rest of the nations for their own. And the people have been saying bad things about you.”’”

profetiza, por tanto, y di que así ha dicho Jehová, el Señor: Por cuanto os asolaron y os asediaron de todas partes para que fuerais heredad de las otras naciones, y se os ha hecho caer en boca de lenguaraces y ser calumniados por los pueblos,

4 S o, mountains of Israel, hear the Word of the Lord God. This is what the Lord God says to the mountains, the hills, the valleys, the destroyed places and empty cities, which have been robbed and made fun of by the rest of the nations around them.

por eso, montes de Israel, oíd palabra de Jehová, el Señor: Así ha dicho Jehová, el Señor, a los montes y a los collados, a los arroyos y a los valles, a las ruinas desoladas y a las ciudades abandonadas, que fueron convertidas en botín y en objeto de burla para las otras naciones de su alrededor;

5 T he Lord God says, “I speak in the fire of My jealousy against the rest of the nations and against all Edom. They have taken My land for themselves with hearts full of joy and hate, that they might rob its good things.”

por eso, así ha dicho Jehová, el Señor: He hablado de cierto en el fuego de mi celo contra las demás naciones y contra Edom, las cuales, con mucho regocijo y enconamiento del ánimo, se disputaron mi tierra por heredad, para que los expulsados de ella fueran presa suya.

6 ‘ So speak about the land of Israel, and tell the mountains, the hills, and valleys, “The Lord God says, ‘I speak in My jealousy and anger because you have been put to shame by the nations.’

Por tanto, profetiza sobre la tierra de Israel, y di a los montes y a los collados, a los arroyos y a los valles que así ha dicho Jehová, el Señor: He aquí, en mi celo y en mi furor he hablado, por cuanto habéis cargado con la calumnia de las naciones.

7 S o the Lord God says, ‘I promise that the nations around you will also suffer shame.

Por lo cual, así ha dicho Jehová, el Señor: Yo he alzado mi mano, he jurado que las naciones que están a vuestro alrededor han de cargar con su desprecio.

8 B ut you, O mountains of Israel, will put out your branches and give your fruit for My people Israel. For they will come home soon.

»”Pero vosotros, montes de Israel, daréis vuestras ramas y llevaréis vuestro fruto para mi pueblo Israel, porque están a punto de llegar.

9 S ee, I care for you and will show you favor. You will be plowed and planted.

Porque he aquí que yo estoy por vosotros, a vosotros me volveré y seréis labrados y sembrados.

10 I will cause the people to become many, all the people of Israel. People will live in the cities, and the places that have been destroyed will be built again.

Yo haré que se multipliquen los hombres sobre vosotros, a toda la casa de Israel, a toda ella. Las ciudades serán habitadas y edificadas las ruinas.

11 I will give you many people and animals, and they will have many young ones. You will be full of people as you were before. And I will do more good to you than ever before. Then you will know that I am the Lord.

Multiplicaré sobre vosotros hombres y ganado: serán multiplicados y crecerán. Os haré habitar como solíais hacerlo antiguamente, y os haré mayor bien que en vuestros comienzos. Y sabréis que yo soy Jehová.

12 I will have people, My people Israel, walk on you and own you. You will belong to them, and you will never again take their children from them.’

Y haré andar hombres sobre vosotros, a mi pueblo Israel. Tomarán posesión de ti, tú les serás por heredad y nunca más les matarás a sus hijos.

13 “ The Lord God says, ‘People say to you, “You destroy men and have taken children from your nation.

Así ha dicho Jehová, el Señor: Por cuanto dicen de vosotros: ‘Devoradora de hombres y matadora de los hijos de tu nación has sido’;

14 B ut you will no longer destroy men and take away your nation’s children,” says the Lord God.

por eso, no devorarás más a los hombres ni volverás nunca a matar a los hijos de tu nación, dice Jehová, el Señor.

15 “ I will not let you hear words of shame from the nations any more. You will not be put to shame by the nations any longer. And you will no longer make your nation fall,” says the Lord God.’” New Life for Israel

16 T he Word of the Lord came to me saying,

Vino a mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo:

17 “ Son of man, when the people of Israel were living in their own land, they made it sinful by their ways and their works. The way they acted before Me was unclean, like a woman is unclean during her time each month.

«Hijo de hombre, mientras la casa de Israel habitaba en su tierra, la contaminó con su mala conducta y con sus obras; como inmundicia de menstruosa fue su conducta delante de mí.

18 S o I poured out My anger upon them because of the blood they had poured on the land, and because they had made it sinful with their false gods.

Y derramé mi ira sobre ellos por la sangre que derramaron sobre la tierra, porque con sus ídolos la contaminaron.

19 I sent them among the different nations and spread them out among the lands. I judged them for their ways and their works.

Los esparcí por las naciones y fueron dispersados por los países; conforme a su conducta y conforme a sus obras los juzgué.

20 B ut in every place they went among the nations, they brought shame upon My holy name, because it was said of them, ‘These are the people of the Lord, yet they had to leave His land.’

Y cuando llegaron a las naciones adonde fueron, profanaron mi santo nombre, diciéndose de ellos: “Éstos son pueblo de Jehová, y de la tierra de él han salido.”

21 B ut I cared about My holy name, which the people of Israel had put to shame among the nations where they had gone.

Pero he sentido dolor al ver mi santo nombre profanado por la casa de Israel entre las naciones adonde fueron.

22 “ So tell the people of Israel, ‘The Lord God says, “It is not because of you, O people of Israel, that I am about to act. It is because of My holy name, which you have put to shame among the nations where you have gone.

23 I will show how holy My great name is, which you have put to shame among the nations. Then the nations will know that I am the Lord,” says the Lord God, “when I use you to show them that I am holy.

Santificaré mi gran nombre, profanado entre las naciones, el cual profanasteis vosotros en medio de ellas. Y sabrán las naciones que yo soy Jehová, dice Jehová, el Señor, cuando sea santificado en vosotros delante de sus ojos.

24 F or I will take you from the nations and gather you from all the lands, and bring you into your own land.

Y yo os tomaré de las naciones, os recogeré de todos los países y os traeré a vuestro país.

25 T hen I will put clean water on you, and you will be clean. I will make you clean from all your unclean ways and from all your false gods.

Esparciré sobre vosotros agua limpia y seréis purificados de todas vuestras impurezas, y de todos vuestros ídolos os limpiaré.

26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you. I will take away your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.

Os daré un corazón nuevo y pondré un espíritu nuevo dentro de vosotros. Quitaré de vosotros el corazón de piedra y os daré un corazón de carne.

27 A nd I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to follow My Laws and be careful to do what I tell you.

Pondré dentro de vosotros mi espíritu, y haré que andéis en mis estatutos y que guardéis mis preceptos y los pongáis por obra.

28 A nd you will live in the land that I gave to your fathers. You will be My people, and I will be your God.

Habitaréis en la tierra que di a vuestros padres, y vosotros seréis mi pueblo y yo seré vuestro Dios.

29 I will save you from all your unclean ways. I will give you much grain, and you will not have to go without food.

Yo os guardaré de todas vuestras impurezas. Llamaré al trigo y lo multiplicaré, y no os expondré más al hambre.

30 I will have the trees give much fruit and the fields give much food. So you will never again suffer the shame of going hungry among the nations.

Multiplicaré asimismo el fruto de los árboles y el fruto de los campos, para que nunca más recibáis oprobio de hambre entre las naciones.

31 T hen you will remember your sinful ways and your sinful works, and you will hate yourselves because of your sins and wrong-doing.

Os acordaréis de vuestra mala conducta y de vuestras obras que no fueron buenas, y os avergonzaréis de vosotros mismos por vuestras iniquidades y por vuestras abominaciones.

32 I want you to know that I am not doing this because of you,” says the Lord God. “Be ashamed and troubled because of your ways, O people of Israel!”

No lo hago por vosotros, dice Jehová, el Señor, sabedlo bien. ¡Avergonzaos y cubríos de deshonra por vuestras iniquidades, casa de Israel!

33 ‘ The Lord God says, “On the day that I make you clean from all your sins, I will fill the cities with people, and the destroyed places will be built again.

»”Así ha dicho Jehová, el Señor: El día que os purifique de todas vuestras iniquidades, haré también que sean habitadas las ciudades, y las ruinas serán reedificadas.

34 A nd the waste land will be planted, instead of being a waste in the eyes of all who pass by.

La tierra asolada será labrada, después de haber permanecido asolada ante los ojos de todos los que pasaban.

35 T hey will say, ‘This waste land has become like the garden of Eden. And the destroyed cities now have strong walls and many people.’

Y dirán: ‘Esta tierra desolada se ha convertido en un huerto de Edén, y estas ciudades arruinadas, desoladas y destruidas, están fortificadas y habitadas.’

36 T hen the nations that are left around you will know that I, the Lord, have built again the places that were destroyed, and planted what had been waste land. I, the Lord, have spoken, and I will do what I say.”

Y las naciones que queden en vuestros alrededores sabrán que yo reedifiqué lo que estaba derribado y planté lo que estaba desolado; yo, Jehová, he hablado, y lo haré.

37 ‘ The Lord God says, “I will also let the people of Israel ask Me to do this for them: I will give them many people, like the sheep of a flock.

»”Así ha dicho Jehová, el Señor: Aún me suplicará la casa de Israel, para que les haga esto: multiplicaré los hombres como se multiplican los rebaños.

38 T he empty cities will be filled with flocks of people, like the flock kept for burnt gifts, like the flock at Jerusalem during her special suppers. Then they will know that I am the Lord.”’”
