1 A nd Naomi hath an acquaintance of her husband's, a man mighty in wealth, of the family of Elimelech, and his name Boaz.

Naomi avea o rudă după bărbat. Acesta era un om foarte bogat, din familia lui Elimelec, şi se numea Boaz.

2 A nd Ruth the Moabitess saith unto Naomi, `Let me go, I pray thee, into the field, and I gather among the ears of corn after him in whose eyes I find grace;' and she saith to her, `Go, my daughter.'

Rut, Moabita, a zis către Naomi:,, Lasă-mă, te rog, să mă duc să strîng spice de pe cîmpul aceluia înaintea căruia voi căpăta trecere.`` Ea i -a răspuns:,, Du-te, fiica mea.``

3 A nd she goeth and cometh and gathereth in a field after the reapers, and her chance happeneth -- the portion of the field is Boaz's who of the family of Elimelech.

Ea s'a dus într'un ogor să strîngă spice pe urma secerătorilor. Şi s'a întîmplat că ogorul acela era a lui Boaz, care era din familia lui Elimelec.

4 A nd lo, Boaz hath come from Beth-Lehem, and saith to the reapers, `Jehovah with you;' and they say to him, `Jehovah doth bless thee.'

Şi iată că Boaz a venit din Betleem, şi a zis secerătorilor:,, Domnul să fie cu voi!`` Ei i-au răspuns:,, Domnul să te binecuvinteze!``

5 A nd Boaz saith to his young man who is set over the reapers, `Whose this young person?'

Şi Boaz a zis slujitorului însărcinat cu privegherea secerătorilor:,, A cui este tînăra aceasta?``

6 A nd the young man who is set over the reapers answereth and saith, `A young woman -- Moabitess -- she, who came back with Naomi from the fields of Moab,

Slujitorul însărcinat cu privegherea secerătorilor a răspuns:,, Este o tînără Moabită, care s'a întors cu Naomi din ţara Moabului.

7 a nd she saith, Let me glean, I pray thee -- and I have gathered among the sheaves after the reapers; and she cometh and remaineth since the morning and till now; she sat in the house a little.

Ea a zis:, Dă-mi voie să strîng şi să culeg spice dintre snopi, rămase pe urma secerătorilor.` Şi de azi dimineaţă, decînd a venit, a stat în picioare pînă acum, şi nu s'a odihnit decît o clipă în casă``.

8 A nd Boaz saith unto Ruth, `Hast thou not heard, my daughter? go not to glean in another field, and also, pass not over from this, and thus thou dost cleave to my young women:

Boaz a zis către Rut:,, Ascultă, fiică, să nu te duci să culegi spice în alt ogor; să nu te depărtezi de aici, şi rămîi cu slujnicele mele.

9 t hine eyes on the field which they reap, and thou hast gone after them; have not I charged the young men not to touch thee? when thou art athirst then thou hast gone unto the vessels, and hast drunk from that which the young men draw.'

Uită-te unde vor secera pe cîmpi, şi du-te după ele. Am poruncit slugilor mele să nu se atingă de tine. Şi cînd îţi va fi sete, să te duci la vase, şi să bei din ce vor scoate slugile.``

10 A nd she falleth on her face, and boweth herself to the earth, and saith unto him, `Wherefore have I found grace in thine eyes, to discern me, and I a stranger?'

Atunci ea s'a aruncat cu faţa la pămînt, şi i -a zis:,, Cum am căpătat eu trecere înaintea ta, ca să te îngrijeşti de mine, o străină?``

11 A nd Boaz answereth and saith to her, `It hath thoroughly been declared to me all that thou hast done with thy mother-in-law, after the death of thy husband, and thou dost leave thy father, and thy mother, and the land of thy birth, and dost come in unto a people which thou hast not known heretofore.

Boaz i -a răspuns:,, Mi s'a spus tot ce ai făcut pentru soacră-ta, dela moartea bărbatului tău, şi cum ai părăsit pe tatăl tău şi pe mama ta şi ţara în care te-ai născut, ca să mergi la un popor pe care nu -l cunoşteai mai înainte.

12 J ehovah doth recompense thy work, and thy reward is complete from Jehovah, God of Israel, under whose wings thou hast come to take refuge.'

Domnul să-ţi răsplătească ce ai făcut, şi plata să-ţi fie deplină din partea Domnului, Dumnezeului lui Israel, subt ale cărui aripi ai venit să te adăposteşti!``

13 A nd she saith, `Let me find grace in thine eyes, my lord, because thou hast comforted me, and because thou hast spoken unto the heart of thy maid-servant, and I -- I am not as one of thy maid-servants.'

Şi ea a zis:,, O! să capăt trecere înaintea ta, domnul meu! Căci tu m'ai mîngîiat, şi vorbele tale au mers la inima slujnicei tale. Şi totuş eu nu sînt nici măcar ca una din slujnicele tale.``

14 A nd Boaz saith to her, `At meal-time come nigh hither, and thou hast eaten of the bread, and dipped thy morsel in the vinegar.' And she sitteth at the side of the reapers, and he reacheth to her roasted corn, and she eateth, and is satisfied, and leaveth.

La vremea prînzului, Boaz a zis către Rut:,, Apropie-te, mănîncă pîne, şi moaie-ţi bucata în oţet.`` Ea a şezut lîngă secerători. I-au dat grăunţe prăjite; a mîncat şi s'a săturat şi ce a rămas a strîns.

15 A nd she riseth to glean, and Boaz chargeth his young men, saying, `Even between the sheaves she doth glean, and ye do not cause her to blush;

Apoi s'a sculat să culeagă spice. Boaz a dat următoarea poruncă slujitorilor săi:,, Lăsaţi -o să culeagă spice şi între snopi, şi să n'o opriţi;

16 a nd also ye do surely cast to her of the handfuls -- and have left, and she hath gleaned, and ye do not push against her.'

şi chiar voi să -i scoateţi din snopi cîteva spice; s'o lăsaţi să culeagă spice, şi să n'o înfruntaţi.``

17 A nd she gleaneth in the field till the evening, and beateth out that which she hath gleaned, and it is about an ephah of barley;

Ea a cules spice de pe cîmp pînă seara, şi a bătut ce culesese. A ieşit aproape o efă de orz.

18 a nd she taketh up, and goeth into the city, and her mother-in-law seeth that which she hath gleaned, and she bringeth out and giveth to her that which she left from her satiety.

A luat -o şi a intrat în cetate, şi soacră-sa a văzut ce culesese. Rut a scos şi rămăşiţele dela prînz şi i le -a dat.

19 A nd her mother-in-law saith to her, `Where hast thou gleaned to-day? and where hast thou wrought? may he who is discerning thee be blessed.' And she declareth to her mother-in-law with whom she hath wrought, and saith, `The name of the man with whom I have wrought to-day Boaz.'

Soacră-sa i -a zis:,, Unde ai cules astăzi spice, şi unde ai muncit? Binecuvîntat să fie celce s'a îngrijit de tine!`` Şi Rut a spus soacrei sale la cine muncise:,, Omul la care am muncit azi``, a zis ea,,, se numeşte Boaz.``

20 A nd Naomi saith to her daughter-in-law, `Blessed he of Jehovah who hath not forsaken His kindness with the living and with the dead;' and Naomi saith to her, `The man is a relation of ours; he of our redeemers.'

Naomi a zis nurorei sale:,, Să fie binecuîntat de Domnul, care este plin de îndurare pentru cei vii, cum a fost şi pentru cei ce au murit., Omul acesta este rudă cu noi`, i -a mai spus Naomi,, este din ceice au drept de răscumpărare asupra noastră.``

21 A nd Ruth the Moabitess saith, `Also he surely said unto me, Near the young people whom I have thou dost cleave till they have completed the whole of the harvest which I have.'

Rut, Moabita, a adăugat:,, El mi -a mai zis:``,, Rămîi cu slugile mele, pînă vor isprăvi de secerat.``

22 A nd Naomi saith unto Ruth her daughter-in-law, `Good, my daughter, that thou goest out with his young women, and they come not against thee in another field.'

Şi Naomi a zis către noru-sa Rut:,, Este bine, fiica mea, să ieşi cu slujnicele lui, şi să nu te întîlnească cineva în alt ogor``.

23 A nd she cleaveth to the young women of Boaz to glean, till the completion of the barley-harvest, and of the wheat-harvest, and she dwelleth with her mother-in-law.

Ea s'a ţinut dar de slujnicele lui Boaz, ca să culeagă spice, pînă la sfîrşitul seceratului orzurilor şi seceratului grîului. Şi locuia cu soacră-sa.
