1 A nd Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Go in unto Pharaoh, and thou hast spoken unto him, Thus said Jehovah, God of the Hebrews, Send My people away, and they serve me,

Domnul a zis lui Moise:,, Du-te la Faraon, şi spune -i:, Aşa vorbeşte Domnul, Dumnezeul Evreilor:, Lasă pe poporul Meu să plece, ca să-Mi slujească.

2 f or, if thou art refusing to send away, and art still keeping hold upon them,

Dacă nu vrei să -l laşi să plece, şi dacă -l mai opreşti,

3 l o, the hand of Jehovah is on thy cattle which in the field, on horses, on asses, on camels, on herd, and on flock -- a pestilence very grievous.

iată, mîna Domnului va fi peste turmele tale de pe cîmp; peste cai, peste măgari, peste cămile, peste boi şi peste oi; şi anume va fi o ciumă foarte mare.

4 ` And Jehovah hath separated between the cattle of Israel and the cattle of Egypt, and there doth not die a thing of all the sons of Israel's;

Dar Domnul va face deosebire între turmele lui Israel şi turmele Egiptenilor, aşa că nu va pieri nimic din tot ce este al copiilor lui Israel.``

5 a nd Jehovah setteth an appointed time, saying, To-morrow doth Jehovah do this thing in the land.'

Domnul a hotărît vremea, şi a zis:,, Mîne, va face Domnul lucrul acesta în ţară.``

6 A nd Jehovah doth this thing on the morrow, and all the cattle of Egypt die, and of the cattle of the sons of Israel not one hath died;

Şi Domnul a făcut aşa, chiar de a doua zi. Toate turmele Egiptenilor au perit, dar n'a perit nici o vită din turmele copiilor lui Israel.

7 a nd Pharaoh sendeth, and lo, not even one of the cattle of Israel hath died, and the heart of Pharaoh is hard, and he hath not sent the people away.

Faraon a trimes să vadă ce se întîmplase: şi iată că nici o vită din turmele lui Israel nu pierise. Dar inima lui Faraon s'a împietrit, şi n'a lăsat pe popor să plece.

8 A nd Jehovah saith unto Moses and unto Aaron, `Take to you the fulness of your hands soot of a furnace, and Moses hath sprinkled it towards the heavens, before the eyes of Pharaoh,

Domnul a zis lui Moise şi lui Aaron:,, Umpleţi-vă mînile cu cenuşă din cuptor, şi Moise s'o arunce spre cer, subt ochii lui Faraon.

9 a nd it hath become small dust over all the land of Egypt, and it hath become on man and on cattle a boil breaking forth blains, in all the land of Egypt.'

Ea se va preface într'o ţărînă, care va acoperi toată ţara Egiptului; şi va da naştere, în toată ţara Egiptului, pe oameni şi pe dobitoace, la nişte bube pricinuite de nişte beşici ferbinţi.``

10 A nd they take the soot of the furnace, and stand before Pharaoh, and Moses sprinkleth it towards the heavens, and it is a boil blains, breaking forth, on man and on beast;

Ei au luat cenuşă din cuptor, şi s'au înfăţişat înaintea lui Faraon; Moise a aruncat -o spre cer, şi ea a dat naştere, pe oameni şi pe dobitoace, la nişte bube pricinuite de nişte beşici ferbinţi.

11 a nd the scribes have not been able to stand before Moses, because of the boil, for the boil hath been on the scribes, and on all the Egyptians.

Vrăjitorii nu s'au putut arăta înaintea lui Moise, din pricina bubelor; căci bubele erau pe vrăjitori, ca şi pe toţi Egiptenii.``

12 A nd Jehovah strengtheneth the heart of Pharaoh, and he hath not hearkened unto them, as Jehovah hath spoken unto Moses.

Domnul a împietrit inima lui Faraon, şi Faraon n'a ascultat de Moise şi de Aaron, după cum spusese Domnul lui Moise.

13 A nd Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Rise early in the morning, and station thyself before Pharaoh, and thou hast said unto him, Thus said Jehovah, God of the Hebrews, Send My people away, and they serve Me,

Domnul a zis lui Moise:,, Scoală-te dis de dimineaţă, du-te înaintea lui Faraon, şi spune -i:, Aşa vorbeşte Domnul, Dumnezeul Evreilor:, Lasă pe poporul Meu să plece, ca să-Mi slujească.

14 f or, at this time I am sending all My plagues unto thy heart, and on thy servants, and on thy people, so that thou knowest that there is none like Me in all the earth,

Fiindcă, de data aceasta, am să trimet toate urgiile Mele împotriva inimii tale, împotriva slujitorilor tăi şi împotriva poporului tău, ca să ştii că nimeni nu este ca Mine pe tot pămîntul.

15 f or now I have put forth My hand, and I smite thee, and thy people, with pestilence, and thou art hidden from the earth.

Dacă Mi-aş fi întins mîna, şi te-aş fi lovit cu ciumă, pe tine şi pe poporul tău, ai fi pierit de pe pămînt.

16 ` And yet for this I have caused thee to stand, so as to show thee My power, and for the sake of declaring My Name in all the earth;

Dar te-am lăsat să rămîi în picioare, ca să vezi puterea Mea, şi Numele Meu să fie vestit în tot pămîntul.

17 s till thou art exalting thyself against My people -- so as not to send them away;

Dacă te mai ridici împotriva poporului Meu, şi dacă nu -l laşi să plece,

18 l o, I am raining about time to-morrow hail very grievous, such as hath not been in Egypt, even from the day of its being founded, even until now.

iată, mîne, la ceasul acesta, voi face să bată o piatră aşa de mare, cum n'a mai fost în Egipt, din ziua întemeierii lui şi pînă azi.

19 ` And, now, send, strengthen thy cattle and all that thou hast in the field; every man and beast which is found in the field, and is not gathered into the house -- come down on them hath the hail, and they have died.'

Pune-ţi dar la adăpost turmele şi tot ce ai pe cîmp. Piatra are să bată pe toţi oamenii şi toate vitele de pe cîmp, cari nu vor fi intrat în case; şi vor peri.``

20 H e who is fearing the word of Jehovah among the servants of Pharaoh hath caused his servants and his cattle to flee unto the houses;

Aceia dintre slujitorii lui Faraon, cari s'au temut de Cuvîntul Domnului, şi-au adunat în case robii şi turmele.

21 a nd he who hath not set his heart unto the word of Jehovah leaveth his servants and his cattle in the field.

Dar cei ce nu şi-au pus la inimă Cuvîntul Domnului, şi-au lăsat robii şi turmele pe cîmp.

22 A nd Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Stretch forth thy hand towards the heavens, and there is hail in all the land of Egypt, on man, and on beast, and on every herb of the field in the land of Egypt.'

Domnul a zis lui Moise:,,Întinde-ţi mîna spre cer; şi are să bată piatra în toată ţara Egiptului pe oameni, pe vite, şi pe toată iarba de pe cîmp în ţara Egiptului!``

23 A nd Moses stretcheth out his rod towards the heavens, and Jehovah hath given voices and hail, and fire goeth towards the earth, and Jehovah raineth hail on the land of Egypt,

Moise şi -a întins toiagul spre cer; şi Domnul a trimes tunete şi piatră, de cădea foc pe pămînt. Domnul a făcut să bată piatra peste ţara Egiptului.

24 a nd there is hail, and fire catching itself in the midst of the hail, very grievous, such as hath not been in all the land of Egypt since it hath become a nation.

A bătut piatra, şi focul se amesteca cu piatra; piatra era aşa de mare încît nu mai bătuse piatră ca aceea în toată ţara Egiptului de cînd este el locuit de oameni.

25 A nd the hail smiteth in all the land of Egypt all that in the field, from man even unto beast, and every herb of the field hath the hail smitten, and every tree of the field it hath broken;

Piatra a nimicit, în toată ţara Egiptului, tot ce era pe cîmp, dela oameni pînă la dobitoace; piatra a nimicit şi toată iarba de pe cîmp, şi a frînt toţi copacii de pe cîmp.

26 o nly in the land of Goshen, where the sons of Israel, there hath been no hail.

Numai în ţinutul Gosen, unde erau copiii lui Israel, n'a bătut piatra,

27 A nd Pharaoh sendeth, and calleth for Moses and for Aaron, and saith unto them, `I have sinned this time, Jehovah the Righteous, and I and my people the Wicked,

Faraon a trimes să cheme pe Moise şi pe Aaron, şi le -a zis:,, De data aceasta, am păcătuit; Domnul are dreptate, iar eu şi poporul meu sîntem vinovaţi.

28 m ake ye supplication unto Jehovah, and plead that there be no voices of God and hail, and I send you away, and ye add not to remain.'

Rugaţi-vă Domnului, ca să nu mai fie tunete şi piatră; şi vă voi lăsa să plecaţi, şi nu veţi mai fi opriţi.``

29 A nd Moses saith unto him, `At my going out of the city, I spread my palms unto Jehovah -- the voices cease, and the hail is not any more, so that thou knowest that the earth Jehovah's;

Moise i -a zis:,, Cînd voi eşi din cetate, voi ridica mînile spre Domnul, tunetele vor înceta şi nu va mai bate piatra, ca să ştii că al Domnului este pămîntul!

30 b ut thou and thy servants -- I have known that ye are not yet afraid of the face of Jehovah God.'

Dar ştiu că tu şi slujitorii tăi tot nu vă veţi teme de Domnul Dumnezeu.``

31 A nd the flax and the barley have been smitten, for the barley budding, and the flax forming flowers,

Inul şi orzul se prăpădiseră, pentrucă orzul tocmai dăduse în spic, iar inul era în floare;

32 a nd the wheat and the rye have not been smitten, for they are late.

grîul şi ovăzul nu se stricaseră, pentru că erau tîrzii.

33 A nd Moses goeth out from Pharaoh, the city, and spreadeth his hands unto Jehovah, and the voices and the hail cease, and rain hath not been poured out to the earth;

Moise a plecat dela Faraon, şi a eşit afară din cetate; şi -a ridicat mînile spre Domnul, tunetele şi piatra au încetat, şi n'a mai căzut ploaia pe pămînt.

34 a nd Pharaoh seeth that the rain hath ceased, and the hail and the voices, and he continueth to sin, and hardeneth his heart, he and his servants;

Faraon, văzînd că ploaia, piatra şi tunetele încetaseră, n'a contenit să păcătuiască şi şi -a împietrit inima, el şi slujitorii lui.

35 a nd the heart of Pharaoh is strong, and he hath not sent the sons of Israel away, as Jehovah hath spoken by the hand of Moses.

Lui Faraon i s'a împietrit inima şi n'a lăsat pe copiii lui Israel să plece, după cum spusese Domnul prin Moise.
