1 - - A Psalm of Asaph. God hath stood in the company of God, In the midst God doth judge.

(Un psalm al lui Asaf.) Dumnezeu stă în adunarea lui Dumnezeu; El judecă în mijlocul dumnezeilor.

2 T ill when do ye judge perversely? And the face of the wicked lift up? Selah.

-,, Pînă cînd veţi judeca strîmb, şi veţi căuta la faţa celor răi? -

3 J udge ye the weak and fatherless, The afflicted and the poor declare righteous.

Faceţi dreptate celui slab şi orfanului, daţi dreptate nenorocitului şi săracului,

4 L et the weak and needy escape, From the hand of the wicked deliver them.

Scăpaţi pe cel nevoiaş şi lipsit, izbăviţi -i din mîna celor răi.``

5 T hey knew not, nor do they understand, In darkness they walk habitually, Moved are all the foundations of earth.

Dar ei nu vor să ştie de nimic, nu pricep'nimic, ci umblă în întunerec; de aceea se clatină toate temeliile pămîntului.

6 I -- I have said, `Gods ye, And sons of the Most High -- all of you,

Eu am zis:,, Sînteţi dumnezei, toţi sînteţi fii ai Celui Prea Înalt.``

7 B ut as man ye die, and as one of the heads ye fall,

Însă veţi muri ca nişte oameni, veţi cădea ca un domnitor oarecare.`` -

8 R ise, O God, judge the earth, For Thou hast inheritance among all the nations!

Scoală-Te, Dumnezeule, şi judecă pămîntul! Căci toate neamurile sînt ale Tale.
