1 I t had, indeed, then (even the first tabernacle) ordinances of service, also a worldly sanctuary,

Legămîntul dintîi avea şi el porunci privitoare la slujba dumnezeiască şi la un locaş pămîntesc de închinare.

2 f or a tabernacle was prepared, the first, in which was both the lamp-stand, and the table, and the bread of the presence -- which is called `Holy;'

În adevăr, s'a făcut un cort. În partea dinainte, numită,, Locul Sfînt``, era sfeşnicul, masa şi pînile pentru punerea înaintea Domnului;

3 a nd after the second vail a tabernacle that is called `Holy of holies,'

după perdeaua a doua se afla partea cortului care se chema,, Locul prea sfînt``.

4 h aving a golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid all round about with gold, in which the golden pot having the manna, and the rod of Aaron that budded, and the tables of the covenant,

El avea un altar de aur pentru tămîie, şi chivotul legămîntului, ferecat peste tot cu aur. În chivot era un vas de aur cu mană, toiagul lui Aaron, care înfrunzise, şi tablele legămîntului.

5 a nd over it cherubim of the glory, overshadowing the mercy-seat, concerning which we are not now to speak particularly.

Deasupra erau heruvimii slavei, cari acopereau capacul ispăşirii cu umbra lor. Nu este vremea să vorbim acum cu deamăruntul despre aceste lucruri.

6 A nd these things having been thus prepared, into the first tabernacle, indeed, at all times the priests do go in, performing the services,

Şi după ce au fost întocmite astfel lucrurile acestea, preoţii cari fac slujbele, intră totdeauna în partea dintîi a cortului.

7 a nd into the second, once in the year, only the chief priest, not apart from blood, which he doth offer for himself and the errors of the people,

Dar în partea a doua intră numai marele preot, odată pe an, şi nu fără sînge, pe care îl aduce pentru sine însuş şi pentru păcatele din neştiinţă ale norodului.

8 t he Holy Spirit this evidencing that not yet hath been manifested the way of the holy, the first tabernacle having yet a standing;

Prin aceasta, Duhul Sfînt arăta că drumul în Locul prea sfînt, nu era încă deschis cîtă vreme sta în picioare cortul dintîi.

9 w hich a simile in regard to the present time, in which both gifts and sacrifices are offered, which are not able, in regard to conscience, to make perfect him who is serving,

Aceasta era o asemănare pentru vremurile de acum, cînd se aduc daruri şi jertfe, cari nu pot duce pe cel ce se închină în felul acesta, la desăvîrşirea cerută de cugetul lui.

10 o nly in victuals, and drinks, and different baptisms, and fleshly ordinances -- till the time of reformation imposed upon.

Ele sînt doar nişte porunci pămînteşti, date, ca toate cele privitoare la mîncări, băuturi şi felurite spălături, pînă la o vreme de îndreptare.

11 A nd Christ being come, chief priest of the coming good things, through the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands -- that is, not of this creation --

Dar Hristos a venit ca Mare Preot al bunurilor viitoare, a trecut prin cortul acela mai mare şi mai desăvîrşit, care nu este făcut de mîni, adică nu este din zidirea aceasta;

12 n either through blood of goats and calves, but through his own blood, did enter in once into the holy places, age-during redemption having obtained;

şi a intrat, odată pentru totdeauna, în Locul prea sfînt, nu cu sînge de ţapi şi de viţei, ci cu însuş sîngele Său, după ce a căpătat o răscumpărare vecinică.

13 f or if the blood of bulls, and goats, and ashes of an heifer, sprinkling those defiled, doth sanctify to the purifying of the flesh,

Căci dacă sîngele taurilor şi al ţapilor şi cenuşa unei vaci, stropită peste cei întinaţi, îi sfinţeşte şi le aduce curăţirea trupului,

14 h ow much more shall the blood of the Christ (who through the age-during Spirit did offer himself unblemished to God) purify your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

cu cît mai mult sîngele lui Hristos, care, prin Duhul cel vecinic, S'a adus pe Sine însuş jertfă fără pată lui Dumnezeu, vă va curăţi cugetul vostru de faptele moarte, ca să slujiţi Dumnezeului cel viu!

15 A nd because of this, of a new covenant he is mediator, that, death having come, for redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, those called may receive the promise of the age-during inheritance,

Şi tocmai de aceea este El mijlocitorul unui legămînt nou, pentru ca, prin moartea Lui pentru răscumpărarea din abaterile făptuite supt legămîntul dintîi, cei ce au fost chemaţi, să capete vecinica moştenire, care le -a fost făgăduită.

16 f or where a covenant, the death of the covenant-victim to come in is necessary,

În adevăr, acolo unde este un testament, trebuie neapărat să aibă loc moartea celui ce l -a făcut.

17 f or a covenant over dead victims stedfast, since it is no force at all when the covenant-victim liveth,

Pentrucă un testament nu capătă putere decît după moarte. N'are nici o putere cîtă vreme trăieşte cel ce l -a făcut.

18 w hence not even the first apart from blood hath been initiated,

De aceea şi întîiul legămînt n'a fost sfinţit fără sînge.

19 f or every command having been spoken, according to law, by Moses, to all the people, having taken the blood of the calves and goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, he both the book itself and all the people did sprinkle,

Şi într'adevăr, Moise, după ce a rostit înaintea întregului norod toate poruncile Legii, a luat sînge de viţei şi de ţapi, cu apă, lînă stacojie şi isop, a stropit cartea şi tot norodul,

20 s aying, `This the blood of the covenant that God enjoined unto you,'

şi a zis:,, Acesta este sîngele legămîntului, care a poruncit Dumnezeu să fie făcut cu voi.``

21 a nd both the tabernacle and all the vessels of the service with blood in like manner he did sprinkle,

De asemenea, a stropit cu sînge cortul şi toate vasele pentru slujbă.

22 a nd with blood almost all things are purified according to the law, and apart from blood-shedding forgiveness doth not come.

Şi, după Lege, aproape totul este curăţit cu sînge; şi fără vărsare de sînge, nu este iertare.

23 n ecessary, therefore, the pattern indeed of the things in the heavens to be purified with these, and the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these;

Dar, deoarece chipurile lucrurilor cari sînt în ceruri, au trebuit curăţite în felul acesta, trebuia ca înseşi lucrurile cereşti să fie curăţite cu jertfe mai bune decît acestea.

24 f or not into holy places made with hands did the Christ enter -- figures of the true -- but into the heaven itself, now to be manifested in the presence of God for us;

Căci Hristos n'a intrat într'un locaş de închinare făcut de mînă omenească, după chipul adevăratului locaş de închinare, ci a intrat chiar în cer, ca să Se înfăţişeze acum, pentru noi, înaintea lui Dumnezeu.

25 n or that he may many times offer himself, even as the chief priest doth enter into the holy places every year with blood of others;

Şi nu ca să Se aducă de mai multe ori jertfă pe Sine însuş, ca marele preot, care intră în fiecare an în Locul prea sfînt cu un sînge, care nu este al lui;

26 s ince it had behoved him many times to suffer from the foundation of the world, but now once, at the full end of the ages, for putting away of sin through his sacrifice, he hath been manifested;

fiindcă atunci ar fi trebuit să pătimească de mai multe ori dela întemeierea lumii; pe cînd acum, la sfîrşitul veacurilor, S'a arătat o singură dată, ca să şteargă păcatul prin jertfa Sa.

27 a nd as it is laid up to men once to die, and after this -- judgment,

Şi, după cum oamenilor le este rînduit să moară o singură dată, iar după aceea vine judecata,

28 s o also the Christ, once having been offered to bear the sins of many, a second time, apart from a sin-offering, shall appear, to those waiting for him -- to salvation!

tot aşa, Hristos, după ce S'a adus jertfă o singură dată, ca să poarte păcatele multora, Se va arăta a doua oară, nu în vederea păcatului, ca să aducă mîntuirea celor ce -L aşteaptă.
