1 A nd there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying,

Şi Cuvîntul Domnului mi -a vorbit astfel:

2 ` Son of man, set thy face unto Jerusalem, and prophesy unto the holy places, and prophesy unto the ground of Israel;

Fiul omului, întoarce-ţi faţa spre Ierusalim, şi vorbeşte împotriva locurilor sfinte, prooroceşte împotriva ţării lui Israel!

3 a nd thou hast said unto the ground of Israel: Thus said Jehovah: Lo, I against thee, And have brought out My sword from its scabbard, And have cut off from thee righteous and wicked.

Spune ţării lui Israel:,, Aşa vorbeşte Domnul:,, Iată, am necaz pe tine, Îmi voi trage sabia din teacă şi voi nimici cu desăvîrşire în mijlocul tău pe cel neprihănit şi pe cel rău.

4 B ecause that I have cut off from thee righteous and wicked, Therefore go out doth My sword from its scabbard, Unto all flesh, from south to north.

Pentrucă vreau să nimicesc cu desăvîrşire din mijlocul tău pe cel neprihănit şi pe cel rău, sabia Mea va ieşi din teacă, pentruca să lovească orice făptură, dela miazăzi pînă la miază noapte.

5 A nd known have all flesh that I, Jehovah, Have brought out My sword from its scabbard, It doth not turn back any more.

Şi orice făptură va şti că Eu, Domnul, Mi-am scos sabia din teacă, şi nu se va mai întoarce înapoi în ea.

6 A nd thou, son of man, sigh with breaking of loins, yea, with bitterness thou dost sigh before their eyes,

Şi tu, fiul omului, gemi! Cu rărunchii zdrobiţi, şi cu amărăciunea în suflet, gemi supt privirile lor!

7 a nd it hath come to pass, when they say unto thee, For what art thou sighing? that thou hast said: Because of the report, for it is coming, And melted hath every heart, And feeble hath been all hands, And weak is every spirit, And all knees go -- waters, Lo, it is coming, yea, it hath been, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.'

Şi dacă te vor întreba:,, Pentru ce gemi?`` să răspunzi:,, Pentru că vine o veste``... Cînd va veni, toate inimile se vor înspăimînta, toate mînile vor slăbi, toate sufletele se vor mîhni, şi toţi genunchii se vor topi ca apa!... Iată că vine, a sosit, -zice Domnul, Dumnezeu!``

8 A nd there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying,

Cuvîntul Domnului mi -a vorbit astfel:

9 ` Son of man, prophesy, and thou hast said, Thus said Jehovah, say: A sword, a sword is sharpened, and also polished.

Fiul omului, prooroceşte şi spune:,, Aşa vorbeşte Domnul. Zi:,, Sabia, da, sabia este ascuţită, şi lustruită.

10 S o as to slaughter a slaughter it is sharpened. So as to have brightness it is polished, Desire hath rejoiced the sceptre of my son, It is despising every tree.

Este ascuţită pentru măcel, şi lustruită ca să lucească!... O, sabie, tu tai toiagul de cîrmuire al fiului meu, care nesocoteşte orice lemn...

11 A nd he giveth it for polishing, For laying hold of by the hand. It is sharpened -- the sword -- and polished, To give it into the hand of a slayer.

A dat -o la lustruit, ca s'o apuce cu mîna; este ascuţită sabia, şi lustruită, ca să înarmeze mîna celui ce măcelăreşte.

12 C ry and howl, son of man, For it hath been among My people, It among all the princes of Israel, Cast unto the sword have been My people. Therefore strike on thy thigh,

Strigă şi vaită-te, fiul omului! Căci este scoasă împotriva poporului Meu, împotriva tuturor voivozilor lui Israel, cari sînt daţi pradă săbiei împreună cu poporul Meu; deaceea bate-te pe coapsă!

13 B ecause a trier, And what if even the sceptre it is despising? It shall not be, an affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.

Da, încercarea s'a făcut, şi ce va fi dacă toiagul acesta de cîrmuire, care nesocoteşte totul, va fi nimicit? zice Domnul Dumnezeu!``

14 A nd thou, son of man, prophesy, And smite hand on hand, And bent is the sword a third time, The sword of the wounded! It the sword of the wounded -- the great one, That is entering the inner chamber to them.

tu, fiul omului, prooroceşte, şi bate din mîni! Loviturile săbiei să fie îndoite, întreite! Este sabia de măcel, sabia măcelului celui mare, care îi urmăreşte de toate părţile.

15 T o melt the heart, and to multiply the ruins, By all their gates I have set the point of a sword. Ah, it is made for brightness, Wrapt up for slaughter.

Ca să arunc groaza în inimi, ca să înmulţesc pe cei loviţi, deaceea am tras sabia, ameninţîndu -i la toate porţile lor. Vai! e făcută să fulgere, şi ascuţită pentru măcel!

16 T ake possession of the right, place thyself at the left, Whither thy face is appointed.

Strînge-ţi puterile, sabie, întoarce-te la dreapta! Aşează-te, întoarce-te la stînga! Îndreaptă-ţi ascuţişul în toate părţile!

17 A nd I also, I smite My hand on my hand, And have caused My fury to rest; I, Jehovah, have spoken.'

Şi Eu voi bate din mîni de bucurie, şi Îmi voi potoli urgia. Eu, Domnul, vorbesc!``

18 A nd there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying,

Cuvîntul Domnului mi -a vorbit astfel:

19 ` And thou, son of man, appoint for thee two ways, for the coming in of the sword of the king of Babylon; from one land they come forth, both of them, and a station prepare thou, at the top of the way of the city prepare.

Fiul omului, croieşte-ţi două drumuri pe unde să treacă sabia împăratului Babilonului! Amîndouă trebuie să iasă din aceeaş ţară. Fă un semn pe drum, fă -l la începutul drumului care duce într -o cetate.

20 A way appoint for the coming of the sword, Unto Rabbath of the sons of Ammon, And to Judah, in Jerusalem -- the fenced.

Să faci unul din aceste drumuri aşa ca sabia că vină la Raba, cetatea copiilor lui Amon, şi pe celalt, aşa ca sabia să vină în Iuda, la Ierusalim, cetatea întărită.

21 F or stood hath the king of Babylon at the head of the way, At the top of the two ways, to use divination, He hath moved lightly with the arrows, He hath asked at the teraphim, He hath looked on the liver.

Căci împăratul Babilonului stă la răscruce, la capătul celor două drumuri, ca să dea cu bobii; el scutură săgeţile, întreabă terafimii, şi cercetează ficatul.

22 A t his right hath been the divination -- Jerusalem, To place battering-rams, To open the mouth with slaughter, To lift up a voice with shouting, To place battering-rams against the gates, To pour out a mount, to build a fortification.

Sorţul, care este în dreapta lui, înseamnă Ierusalimul, unde vor trebui să ridice berbeci, să dea poruncă pentru măcel, şi să scoată strigăte de război; vor ridica berbeci împotriva porţilor, vor ridica întărituri şi vor face şanţuri de apărare.

23 A nd it hath been to them as a false divination in their eyes, Who have sworn oaths to them, And he is causing iniquity to be remembered to be caught.

Copiii lui Israel nu văd în aceasta decît nişte vrăjitorii deşerte, ei cari au făcut jurăminte mincinoase. Dar împăratul Babilonului îşi aduce aminte de nelegiuirea lor, aşa că vor fi prinşi.

24 T herefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Because of your causing your iniquity to be remembered, In your transgressions being revealed, For your sins being seen, in all your doings, Because of your being remembered, By the hand ye are caught.

De aceea, aşa vorbeşte Domnul, Dumnezeu:,, Pentrucă vă făliţi cu nelegiuirea voastră, vădindu-vă fărădelegile, arătîndu-vă păcatele în toate faptele voastre; pentrucă vă făliţi cu ele, veţi fi prinşi de mîna lui!

25 A nd thou, wounded, wicked one, Prince of Israel, whose day hath come, In the time of the iniquity of the end!

Şi tu, domn nelegiuit, gata să fii ucis, domn al lui Israel, a cărui zi vine tocmai cînd nelegiuirea este la culme!

26 T hus said the Lord Jehovah: Turn aside the mitre, and bear away the crown, This -- not this -- the low make high, And the high make low.

Aşa vorbeşte Domnul Dumnezeu:,, La o parte cu mitra, jos cununa înpărătească! Nu mai este cum a fost. Ce este plecat va fi înălţat, şi ce este înălţat va fi plecat!

27 A n overturn, overturn, overturn, I make it, Also this hath not been till the coming of Him, Whose the judgment, and I have given it.

Voi da jos cununa, o voi da jos, o voi da jos. Dar lucrul acesta nu va avea loc loc decît la venirea Aceluia care are drept la ea, şi în mîna căruia o voi încredinţa.``

28 A nd thou, son of man, prophesy, and thou hast said: Thus said the Lord Jehovah concerning the sons of Ammon, and concerning their reproach: and thou hast said: A sword, a sword, open for slaughter, Polished to the utmost for brightness!

tu, fiul omului, prooroceşte, şi spune:,, Aşa vorbeşte Domnul, Dumnezeu, despre copiii lui Amon şi despre ocara lor. Spune:,, Sabia, da, sabia este scoasă pentru măcel; este lustruită pentru nimicire, ca să lucească!

29 I n the seeing for thee of a vain thing, In the divining for thee of a lie, To put thee on the necks of the wounded of the wicked, whose day hath come, In the time of the iniquity of the end.

În mijlocul vedeniilor cu cari te înşală ei şi în mijlocul proorociilor mincinoase pe cari ţi le fac ei, te vor face să cazi între trupurile moarte ale celor răi, a căror zi vine tocmai cînd nelegiuirea lor este la culme.

30 T urn back unto its scabbard, In the place where thou wast produced, In the land of thy birth I do judge thee.

Bagă-ţi sabia înapoi în teacă. În locul în care ai fost făcut, în ţara ta de naştere, te voi judeca!

31 A nd I have poured on thee Mine indignation, With fire of My wrath I blow against thee, And have given thee into the hand of brutish men -- artificers of destruction.

Îmi voi vărsa mînia peste tine, voi sufla împotriva ta cu focul urgiei Mele, şi te voi da în mînile unor oameni cari nu lucrează decît la nimicire.

32 T o the fire thou art for fuel, Thy blood is in the midst of the land, Thou art not remembered, For I, Jehovah, have spoken!'

Vei fi ars de foc; sîngele tău va curge în mijlocul ţării! Nu-şi vor mai aduce aminte de tine! Căci Eu, Domnul, am vorbit.``
