1 A nd Naomi hath an acquaintance of her husband's, a man mighty in wealth, of the family of Elimelech, and his name Boaz.

У Ноемини был родственник со стороны мужа из того же клана, что и Элимелеха, богатый и влиятельный человек, по имени Боаз.

2 A nd Ruth the Moabitess saith unto Naomi, `Let me go, I pray thee, into the field, and I gather among the ears of corn after him in whose eyes I find grace;' and she saith to her, `Go, my daughter.'

Руфь моавитянка сказала Ноемини: – Отпусти меня в поля, подбирать оставшееся зерно за тем, в чьих глазах найду расположение. Ноеминь сказала ей: – Иди, моя дочь.

3 A nd she goeth and cometh and gathereth in a field after the reapers, and her chance happeneth -- the portion of the field is Boaz's who of the family of Elimelech.

Она вышла и начала подбирать в полях за жнецами. И случилось так, что она пришла на ту часть поля, которая принадлежала Боазу из клана Элимелеха.

4 A nd lo, Boaz hath come from Beth-Lehem, and saith to the reapers, `Jehovah with you;' and they say to him, `Jehovah doth bless thee.'

Как раз тогда из Вифлеема пришел Боаз и приветствовал жнецов: – Пусть будет с вами Господь! – Благослови тебя Господь, – откликнулись они.

5 A nd Boaz saith to his young man who is set over the reapers, `Whose this young person?'

Боаз спросил старосту своих жнецов: – Чья та молодая женщина?

6 A nd the young man who is set over the reapers answereth and saith, `A young woman -- Moabitess -- she, who came back with Naomi from the fields of Moab,

Староста ответил: – Это та моавитянка, что вернулась из Моава с Ноеминью.

7 a nd she saith, Let me glean, I pray thee -- and I have gathered among the sheaves after the reapers; and she cometh and remaineth since the morning and till now; she sat in the house a little.

Она сказала: «Пожалуйста, позволь мне подбирать колосья следом за жнецами». Она пришла на поле и находится здесь с утра до этого времени; мало бывает она дома.

8 A nd Boaz saith unto Ruth, `Hast thou not heard, my daughter? go not to glean in another field, and also, pass not over from this, and thus thou dost cleave to my young women:

Боаз сказал Руфи: – Послушай меня, моя дочь. Не ходи подбирать на другое поле и не удаляйся отсюда. Оставайся здесь с моими служанками.

9 t hine eyes on the field which they reap, and thou hast gone after them; have not I charged the young men not to touch thee? when thou art athirst then thou hast gone unto the vessels, and hast drunk from that which the young men draw.'

Смотри, на каком поле жнут мои слуги, и держись вместе с моими служанками. Я велел своим слугам не трогать тебя. И всякий раз, когда ты захочешь пить, иди и пей из кувшинов, которые наполняют мои слуги.

10 A nd she falleth on her face, and boweth herself to the earth, and saith unto him, `Wherefore have I found grace in thine eyes, to discern me, and I a stranger?'

Она поклонилась, коснувшись лицом земли, и воскликнула: – За что ты так добр ко мне, почему ты проявляешь такую заботу о чужестранке?

11 A nd Boaz answereth and saith to her, `It hath thoroughly been declared to me all that thou hast done with thy mother-in-law, after the death of thy husband, and thou dost leave thy father, and thy mother, and the land of thy birth, and dost come in unto a people which thou hast not known heretofore.

Боаз ответил: – Мне рассказали обо всем, что ты сделала для своей свекрови после смерти твоего мужа: как ты оставила отца и мать и свою родину и пришла жить к народу, которого ты прежде не знала.

12 J ehovah doth recompense thy work, and thy reward is complete from Jehovah, God of Israel, under whose wings thou hast come to take refuge.'

Пусть Господь воздаст тебе за то, что ты сделала. Да получишь ты богатую награду от Господа, Бога Израиля, к Которому ты пришла, чтобы найти прибежище под Его крыльями.

13 A nd she saith, `Let me find grace in thine eyes, my lord, because thou hast comforted me, and because thou hast spoken unto the heart of thy maid-servant, and I -- I am not as one of thy maid-servants.'

– Да буду я и дальше находить милость в твоих глазах, мой господин, – сказала она. – Ты утешил меня и говорил с твоей служанкой по-доброму, несмотря на то, что я не стою ни одной из твоих служанок.

14 A nd Boaz saith to her, `At meal-time come nigh hither, and thou hast eaten of the bread, and dipped thy morsel in the vinegar.' And she sitteth at the side of the reapers, and he reacheth to her roasted corn, and she eateth, and is satisfied, and leaveth.

Во время обеда Боаз сказал ей: – Подойди сюда. Возьми хлеб и обмакивай его в уксус. Когда она села рядом со жнецами, он предложил ей жареного зерна. Она съела столько, сколько хотела, и еще осталось.

15 A nd she riseth to glean, and Boaz chargeth his young men, saying, `Even between the sheaves she doth glean, and ye do not cause her to blush;

Когда она встала, чтобы подбирать дальше, Боаз приказал своим слугам: – Даже если она будет собирать среди снопов, не обижайте ее.

16 a nd also ye do surely cast to her of the handfuls -- and have left, and she hath gleaned, and ye do not push against her.'

Наоборот, отбрасывайте для нее колосья из вязанок и оставляйте ей подбирать, и не попрекайте ее.

17 A nd she gleaneth in the field till the evening, and beateth out that which she hath gleaned, and it is about an ephah of barley;

И так Руфь подбирала на поле до вечера. Когда она вымолотила ячмень, который собрала, получилось около ефы.

18 a nd she taketh up, and goeth into the city, and her mother-in-law seeth that which she hath gleaned, and she bringeth out and giveth to her that which she left from her satiety.

Она принесла его в город, и ее свекровь увидела, как много она собрала. Еще Руфь вытащила и дала ей то, что осталось у нее после обеда.

19 A nd her mother-in-law saith to her, `Where hast thou gleaned to-day? and where hast thou wrought? may he who is discerning thee be blessed.' And she declareth to her mother-in-law with whom she hath wrought, and saith, `The name of the man with whom I have wrought to-day Boaz.'

Свекровь спросила ее: – Где ты собирала сегодня? Где ты работала? Пусть будет благословен тот человек, который позаботился о тебе! Руфь рассказала своей свекрови, у кого она работала. – Человека, у которого я сегодня работала, зовут Боаз, – сказала она.

20 A nd Naomi saith to her daughter-in-law, `Blessed he of Jehovah who hath not forsaken His kindness with the living and with the dead;' and Naomi saith to her, `The man is a relation of ours; he of our redeemers.'

– Благослови его Господь! – сказала Ноеминь своей снохе. – Он не оставил без милости ни живых, ни умерших. Затем прибавила – Этот человек с нами в близком родстве.

21 A nd Ruth the Moabitess saith, `Also he surely said unto me, Near the young people whom I have thou dost cleave till they have completed the whole of the harvest which I have.'

Руфь моавитянка сказала: – Он даже сказал мне: «Оставайся с моими работниками до тех пор, пока они не закончат убирать все мое зерно».

22 A nd Naomi saith unto Ruth her daughter-in-law, `Good, my daughter, that thou goest out with his young women, and they come not against thee in another field.'

Ноеминь сказала своей снохе Руфи: – Это хорошо, моя дочь, что ты будешь ходить с его служанками, потому что на чьем-нибудь другом поле тебя могли бы обидеть.

23 A nd she cleaveth to the young women of Boaz to glean, till the completion of the barley-harvest, and of the wheat-harvest, and she dwelleth with her mother-in-law.

Руфь держалась со служанками Боаза и подбирала колосья, пока не кончилась жатва ячменя и пшеницы. А жила она у своей свекрови.
