1 A nd Hannah prayeth, and saith: `My heart hath exulted in Jehovah, My horn hath been high in Jehovah, My mouth hath been large over mine enemies, For I have rejoiced in Thy salvation.

Анна молилась и говорила: − Возликовало мое сердце в Господе, вознесся в Господе мой рог. Мои уста осмеивают врагов, потому что я радуюсь Твоему избавлению.

2 T here is none holy like Jehovah, For there is none save Thee, And there is no rock like our God.

Нет столь святого, как Господь; нет другого, кроме Тебя; нет скалы, подобной нашему Богу.

3 Y e multiply not -- ye speak haughtily -- The old saying goeth out from your mouth, For a God of knowledge Jehovah, And by Him actions are weighed.

Не говорите больше надменно, не давайте своим устам говорить с такой дерзостью, ведь Господь есть Бог знающий, оценивающий все дела.

4 B ows of the mighty are broken, And the stumbling have girded on strength.

Сломаны луки воинов, а немощные вооружаются крепостью.

5 T he satiated for bread hired themselves, And the hungry have ceased. While the barren hath borne seven, And she abounding with sons hath languished.

Те, кто был сыт, теперь нанимаются работать за пищу, а те, кто голодал, больше не голодают. Когда-то бесплодная − родила семерых, а имевшая много сыновей – изнемогает.

6 J ehovah putteth to death, and keepeth alive, He bringeth down to Sheol, and bringeth up.

Господь умерщвляет и оживляет; низводит в мир мертвых и выводит из него.

7 J ehovah dispossesseth, and He maketh rich, He maketh low, yea, He maketh high.

Господь делает нищим и дает богатство; Он смиряет и возносит.

8 H e raiseth from the dust the poor, From a dunghill He lifteth up the needy, To cause to sit with nobles, Yea, a throne of honour He doth cause them to inherit, For to Jehovah the fixtures of earth, And He setteth on them the habitable world.

Он поднимает бедного из праха и возносит нуждающегося с груды пепла; сажает их с вождями и дает им наследовать престол славы. Ведь основания земли устроены Господом, на них Он поставил мир.

9 T he feet of His saints He keepeth, And the wicked in darkness are silent, For not by power doth man become mighty.

Он охраняет пути Своих святых, а нечестивые сгинут во мраке. Сила им не поможет:

10 J ehovah -- broken down are His adversaries, Against them in the heavens He thundereth: Jehovah judgeth the ends of earth, And giveth strength to His king, And exalteth the horn of His anointed.'

противники Господа будут рассеяны. Он разразится громом на них с небес; Господь будет судить во всех концах земли. Он даст мощь Своему царю и вознесет рог Своего помазанника.

11 A nd Elkanah goeth to Ramath, unto his house, and the youth hath been serving Jehovah, the presence of Eli the priest;

Элкана пошел к себе домой в Раму, а мальчик остался служить перед Господом под руководством священника Илия. Нечестивые сыновья Илия

12 a nd the sons of Eli sons of worthlessness, they have not known Jehovah.

Сыновья Илия были нечестивцами. Они не знали ни Господа,

13 A nd the custom of the priests with the people: any man sacrificing a sacrifice -- then hath the servant of the priest come in when the flesh is boiling, and the hook of three teeth in his hand,

ни долга священников по отношению к народу. Всякий раз, когда кто-нибудь приносил жертву, пока варилось мясо, приходил слуга священника с трехзубой вилкой в руке.

14 a nd hath struck into the pan, or kettle, or caldron, or pot; all that the hook bringeth up doth the priest take for himself; thus they do to all Israel who are coming in, there, in Shiloh.

Он опускал ее в кастрюлю, сковороду, котел или горшок, и брал себе все, что попадалось на вилку. Так они поступали со всяким жертвенным мясом, которое приносили израильтяне, приходившие в Шило.

15 A lso before they make perfume with the fat -- then hath the priest's servant come in, and said to the man who is sacrificing, `Give flesh to roast for the priest, and he doth not take of thee flesh boiled, but raw;'

Мало этого, еще до того, как сжигали жир, слуга священника приходил и говорил человеку, который приносил жертву: «Дай священнику мяса для жаркого. Он не возьмет у тебя вареное мясо, только сырое».

16 a nd the man saith unto him, `Let them surely make a perfume (as to-day) with the fat, then take to thee as thy soul desireth;' and he hath said to him, `Surely now thou dost give; and if not -- I have taken by strength.'

Если человек говорил ему: «Пусть сперва сожгут жир, а потом ты возьмешь все, что хочешь», слуга отвечал: «Нет, давай сейчас. А если нет, я возьму силой».

17 A nd the sin of the young men is very great the presence of Jehovah, for the men have despised the offering of Jehovah.

Грех этих молодых людей, сыновей Илия, был очень велик перед Господом, ведь они относились с презрением к приношениям Господу.

18 A nd Samuel is ministering the presence of Jehovah, a youth girt an ephod of linen;

Но Самуил служил перед Господом. Он был мальчиком, носящим льняной эфод.

19 a nd a small upper coat doth his mother make to him, and she hath brought it up to him from time to time, in her coming up with her husband to sacrifice the sacrifice of the time.

Каждый год мать шила для него маленький плащ и приносила ему, когда приходила с мужем для приношения ежегодной жертвы.

20 A nd Eli blessed Elkanah, and his wife, and said, `Jehovah doth appoint for thee seed of this woman, for the petition which she asked for Jehovah;' and they have gone to their place.

Илий благословлял Элкану и его жену, говоря: – Пусть Господь даст тебе детей от этой женщины вместо того, о ком она молилась и кого отдала Господу. Потом они вернулись домой.

21 W hen Jehovah hath looked after Hannah, then she conceiveth and beareth three sons and two daughters; and the youth Samuel groweth up with Jehovah.

Господь был милостив к Анне, и она зачала и родила еще троих сыновей и двух дочерей. Тем временем Самуил рос в присутствии Господа.

22 A nd Eli very old, and hath heard all that his sons do to all Israel, and how that they lie with the women who are assembling the opening of the tent of meeting,

Илий же, который был очень стар, слышал обо всем, что его сыновья делают с Израилем и что они спят с женщинами, которые служат у входа в скинию собрания.

23 a nd he saith to them, `Why do ye things like these? for I am hearing of your evil words from all the people -- these!

Он сказал им: − Что вы делаете? От всего народа я слышу о ваших нечестивых делах.

24 N ay, my sons; for the report which I am hearing is not good causing the people of Jehovah to transgress. --

Нет, мои сыновья, не хороша молва, которая, как я слышу, распространяется среди Господнего народа.

25 I f a man sin against a man, then hath God judged him; but if against Jehovah a man sin, who doth pray for him?' and they hearken not to the voice of their father, though Jehovah hath delighted to put them to death.

Если человек согрешит против другого, кто-нибудь может стать посредником за него перед Господом, но если человек согрешит против Господа, кто заступится за него? Но сыновья не прислушивались к отцовским упрекам, потому что в воле Господней было предать их смерти.

26 A nd the youth Samuel is going on and growing up, and good both with Jehovah, and also with men.

А Самуил взрослел. Его любили и люди, и Господь. Пророчество о семье Илия

27 A nd there cometh a man of God unto Eli, and saith unto him, `Thus said Jehovah, Was I really revealed unto the house of thy father in their being in Egypt, before Pharaoh's house,

И вот, пришел к Илию Божий человек и сказал ему: − Вот что говорит Господь: «Разве Я не открывался ясно дому твоего отца, когда они еще были в Египте, в доме фараона?

28 e ven to choose him out of all the tribes of Israel to Me for a priest, to go up on Mine altar, to make a perfume, to bear an ephod before Me, and I give to the house of thy father all the fire-offerings of the sons of Israel?

Я выбрал твоего отца из всех родов Израиля, чтобы он был Моим священников, восходил к Моему жертвеннику, возжигал благовония и носил предо Мною эфод. Еще Я дал дому твоего отца все огненные жертвоприношения, совершаемые израильтянами.

29 W hy do ye kick at My sacrifice, and at Mine offering which I commanded My habitation, and dost honour thy sons above Me, to make yourselves fat from the first part of every offering of Israel, of My people?

Почему же вы попираете ногами Мои жертвы и приношения, которые Я установил для Своего жилища? Почему ты предпочитаешь Мне своих сыновей, жирея от лучших частей каждого приношения, совершаемого Моим народом, Израилем?»

30 ` Therefore -- the affirmation of Jehovah, God of Israel -- I certainly said, Thy house and the house of thy father, do walk up and down before Me to the age; and now -- the affirmation of Jehovah -- Far be it from Me! for he who is honouring Me, I honour, and those despising Me, are lightly esteemed.

Поэтому Господь, Бог Израиля, возвещает: «Я обещал, что твой дом и дом твоего отца будут служить передо Мной вечно». Но теперь Господь возвещает: «Да не будет так! Тех, кто чтит Меня, буду чтить и Я, но те, кто презирает Меня, будут посрамлены.

31 ` Lo, days coming, and I have cut off thine arm, and the arm of the house of thy father, that an old man is not in thy house;

Наступит время, когда Я лишу силы твою семью и твое родство, и никто в твоем семействе не доживет до старости.

32 a nd thou hast beheld an adversary habitation, in all that He doth good with Israel, and there is not an old man in thy house all the days.

Ты увидишь бедствие в Моем жилище. Хотя Израиль будет благоденствовать, никто в твоем семействе никогда не будет доживать до старости.

33 ` And the man I cut not off of thine from Mine altar, to consume thine eyes, and to grieve thy soul; and all the increase of thy house do die men;

Всякий, кого Я не отрешу от жертвенника, будет сбережен только для того, чтобы наполнять слезами твои глаза и печалить твое сердце, и все твои потомки будут умирать во цвете лет.

34 a nd this to thee the sign that cometh unto thy two sons, unto Hophni and Phinehas -- in one day they die both of them;

А то, что случится с двумя твоими сыновьями, Хофни и Пинехасом, будет знаком для тебя − оба они умрут в один день.

35 a nd I have raised up for Me a stedfast priest; as in My heart and in My soul he doth do; and I have built for him a stedfast house, and he hath walked up and down before Mine anointed all the days;

Я поставлю Себе верного священника, который будет поступать в соответствии с тем, что у Меня в сердце и в уме. Я утвержу его дом, и он всегда будет служить перед Моим помазанником.

36 a nd it hath been, every one who is left in thy house doth come in to bow himself to him, for a wage of silver, and a cake of bread, and hath said, Admit me, I pray thee, unto one of the priest's offices, to eat a morsel of bread.'

Тогда всякий оставшийся из твоего дома придет, склонится перед ним за геру серебра и корку хлеба и взмолится: “Дай мне какую-нибудь священническую должность, чтобы у меня было пропитание”».
