1 A nd there came one of the seven messengers, who were having the seven vials, and he spake with me, saying to me, `Come, I will shew to thee the judgment of the great whore, who is sitting upon the many waters,

Один из семи ангелов, у которых было семь чаш, подошел ко мне и сказал: – Подойди, я покажу тебе, как будет наказана великая блудница, сидящая на многих водах.

2 w ith whom the kings of the earth did commit whoredom; and made drunk from the wine of her whoredom were those inhabiting the earth;'

С ней развратничали цари земли, и жители земли упивались вином ее разврата.

3 a nd he carried me away to a wilderness in the Spirit, and I saw a woman sitting upon a scarlet-coloured beast, full of names of evil-speaking, having seven heads and ten horns,

И он перенес меня в духе в пустыню, и я увидел женщину, сидящую на алом звере, который был исписан кощунственными именами; у него было семь голов и десять рогов.

4 a nd the woman was arrayed with purple and scarlet-colour, and gilded with gold, and precious stone, and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and uncleanness of her whoredom,

Женщина была одета во все пурпурное и алое, была украшена золотом, драгоценными камнями и жемчугом. В руке у нее была золотая чаша, наполненная мерзостью и нечистотами ее разврата.

5 a nd upon her forehead was a name written: `Secret, Babylon the Great, the Mother of the Whores, and the Abominations of the earth.'

На лбу у нее написано имя, имеющее тайное значение: ВЕЛИКИЙ ВАВИЛОН – МАТЬ БЛУДНИЦ И МЕРЗОСТЕЙ ЗЕМЛИ.

6 A nd I saw the woman drunken from the blood of the saints, and from the blood of the witnesses of Jesus, and I did wonder -- having seen her -- with great wonder;

И я увидел, что женщина была пьяна от крови святых, от крови свидетелей Иисуса. Я был поражен, когда ее увидел.

7 a nd the messenger said to me, `Wherefore didst thou wonder? I -- I will tell thee the secret of the woman and of the beast that carrying her, which hath the seven heads and the ten horns.

Ангел сказал мне: «Чему ты удивляешься? Я тебе скажу, в чем заключается тайна женщины и зверя с семью головами и десятью рогами, на котором она сидит.

8 ` The beast that thou didst see: it was, and it is not; and it is about to come up out of the abyss, and to go away to destruction, and wonder shall those dwelling upon the earth, whose names have not been written upon the scroll of the life from the foundation of the world, beholding the beast that was, and is not, although it is.

Зверь, которого ты видел, был и нет его. Он выйдет из бездны и отправится в погибель. Жители земли, имена которых от начала мира не были записаны в книге жизни, удивятся, глядя на зверя, потому что он был и его нет, и еще придет.

9 ` Here the mind that is having wisdom; the seven heads are seven mountains, upon which the woman doth sit,

Это требует понимания и мудрости. Семь голов – это семь гор, на которых сидит женщина,

10 a nd there are seven kings, the five did fall, and the one is, the other did not yet come, and when he may come, it behoveth him to remain a little time;

и семь царей, пять из которых уже пали, один есть, а другой еще не пришел, а когда придет – то ненадолго.

11 a nd the beast that was, and is not, he also is eighth, and out of the seven he is, and to destruction he doth go away.

Зверь, который был и которого нет, – это восьмой царь, и он из числа семи, и идет к погибели.

12 ` And the ten horns that thou sawest, are ten kings, who a kingdom did not yet receive, but authority as kings the same hour do receive with the beast,

Десять рогов, которые ты видел, – это десять царей, еще не получивших своего царства, но вместе со зверем они на один час получат царскую власть.

13 t hese have one mind, and their own power and authority to the beast they shall give over;

У них одна общая цель, и они отдадут свою силу и власть зверю.

14 t hese with the Lamb shall make war, and the Lamb shall overcome them, because Lord of lords he is, and King of kings, and those with him are called, and choice, and stedfast.'

Они будут сражаться с Ягненком, но Ягненок одержит над ними победу, потому что Он Господь господствующих и Царь царей и с Ним Его избранные, призванные и верные.

15 A nd he saith to me, `The waters that thou didst see, where the whore doth sit, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues;'

Потом ангел сказал мне: – Воды, которые ты видел там, где сидит блудница, – это народы, скопления людей, племена и языки.

16 a nd the ten horns that thou didst see upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and shall burn her in fire,

Зверь и десять рогов, которые ты видел, возненавидят блудницу. Они разорят ее, оставят нагой, будут поедать ее тело и жечь ее в огне.

17 f or God did give into their hearts to do its mind, and to make one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast till the sayings of God may be complete,

Потому что Бог внушил этим десяти рогам желание исполнить Его волю и единодушно отдать зверю их царскую власть до тех пор, пока не исполнятся Божьи слова.

18 a nd the woman that thou didst see is the great city that is having reign over the kings of the land.'

Женщина, которую ты видел, – это великий город, царствующий над всеми царями земли.
