1 A nd Jesus was walking after these things in Galilee, for he did not wish to walk in Judea, because the Jews were seeking to kill him,

После этого Иисус ходил по Галилее. В Иудею Он не шел, так как иудеи хотели убить Его.

2 a nd the feast of the Jews was nigh -- that of tabernacles --

Когда приближался иудейский праздник Шалашей,

3 h is brethren, therefore, said unto him, `Remove hence, and go away to Judea, that thy disciples also may behold thy works that thou dost;

братья Иисуса сказали Ему: – Не оставайся здесь, иди в Иудею, чтобы и Твои ученики увидели чудеса, которые Ты совершаешь.

4 f or no one in secret doth anything, and himself seeketh to be in public; if thou dost these things -- manifest thyself to the world;'

Ведь никто, стремящийся к известности, не действует втайне. Если Ты делаешь такое, покажи Себя миру.

5 f or not even were his brethren believing in him.

Даже Его братья не верили Ему.

6 J esus, therefore, saith to them, `My time is not yet present, but your time is always ready;

Иисус сказал им: – Мое время еще не подошло, для вас же подходит любое время.

7 t he world is not able to hate you, but me it doth hate, because I testify concerning it that its works are evil.

Вас мир не может ненавидеть, Меня же он ненавидит, потому что Я свидетельствую о том, что его дела злы.

8 Y e -- go ye up to this feast; I do not yet go up to this feast, because my time hath not yet been fulfilled;'

Идите на праздник, Я же пока не пойду, потому что Мое время еще не подошло.

9 a nd saying these things to them, he remained in Galilee.

И Иисус остался в Галилее. Иисус открыто проповедует в храме

10 A nd when his brethren went up, then also he himself went up to the feast, not manifestly, but as in secret;

Но когда Его братья пошли на праздник, Он тоже пошел, только не открыто, а так, чтобы никто не знал.

11 t he Jews, therefore, were seeking him, in the feast, and said, `Where is that one?'

На празднике иудеи искали Его и спрашивали: – Где Он?

12 a nd there was much murmuring about him among the multitudes, some indeed said -- `He is good;' and others said, `No, but he leadeth astray the multitude;'

В народе об Иисусе шло много разговоров. Некоторые говорили, что Он хороший Человек, другие – что Он обманывает народ.

13 n o one, however, was speaking freely about him, through fear of the Jews.

Однако открыто никто о Нем ничего не говорил из страха перед иудеями.

14 A nd it being now the middle of the feast, Jesus went up to the temple, and he was teaching,

Первая половина праздника уже прошла, когда Иисус пришел в храм и стал учить.

15 a nd the Jews were wondering, saying, `How hath this one known letters -- not having learned?'

Иудеи удивлялись и спрашивали: – Откуда у Него такая ученость, ведь Он нигде не учился?

16 J esus answered them and said, `My teaching is not mine, but His who sent me;

Иисус ответил: – Учение Мое не от Меня, но от Того, Кто послал Меня.

17 i f any one may will to do His will, he shall know concerning the teaching, whether it is of God, or -- I do speak from myself.

И кто действительно хочет исполнять волю Бога, тот узнает, от Бога Мое учение или же Я говорю Сам от Себя.

18 ` He who is speaking from himself his own glory doth seek, but he who is seeking the glory of him who sent him, this one is true, and unrighteousness is not in him;

Тот, кто говорит от себя, ищет славы самому себе, Тот же, Кто ищет славы Пославшему Его, честен, и лжи нет в Нем.

19 h ath not Moses given you the law? and none of you doth the law; why me do ye seek to kill?'

Разве Моисей не дал вам Закон? Однако ни один из вас не соблюдает Закона. Зачем вы хотите убить Меня?

20 T he multitude answered and said, `Thou hast a demon, who doth seek to kill thee?'

– Да Ты не одержим ли! Кто хочет Тебя убить? – отвечал народ.

21 J esus answered and said to them, `One work I did, and ye all wonder,

Иисус сказал: – Я совершил лишь одно дело, и вы так удивляетесь.

22 b ecause of this, Moses hath given you the circumcision -- not that it is of Moses, but of the fathers -- and on a sabbath ye circumcise a man;

Моисей дал вам обрезание (хотя, конечно, обрезание идет не от Моисея, а от праотцев), и вы обрезаете детей даже в субботу.

23 i f a man doth receive circumcision on a sabbath that the law of Moses may not be broken, are ye wroth with me that I made a man all whole on a sabbath?

Так если человек может быть обрезан в субботу ради того, чтобы не был нарушен Закон Моисея, то почему вы злы на Меня за то, что Я исцелил всего человека в субботу?

24 j udge not according to appearance, but the righteous judgment judge.'

Судите не по виду, а по справедливости.

25 C ertain, therefore, of the Jerusalemites said, `Is not this he whom they are seeking to kill?

В это время некоторые жители Иерусалима стали спрашивать: – Не Тот ли это, Которого хотят убить?

26 a nd, lo, he doth speak freely, and they say nothing to him; did the rulers at all know truly that this is truly the Christ?

Вот же Он открыто говорит перед народом, и Ему не запрещают. Может, начальники достоверно узнали, что Он Христос?

27 b ut this one -- we have known whence he is; and the Christ, when he doth come, no one doth know whence he is.'

Но мы знаем, откуда Он, а когда придет Христос, то никто не будет знать, откуда Он пришел.

28 J esus cried, therefore, in the temple, teaching and saying, `Ye have both known me, and ye have known whence I am; and I have not come of myself, but He who sent me is true, whom ye have not known;

Тогда Иисус, Который продолжал учить в храме, громко возгласил: – Так вы Меня знаете?! И вы даже знаете откуда Я?! Ведь Я не Сам от Себя пришел. И верен Тот, Кто послал Меня, но вы Его не знаете.

29 a nd I have known Him, because I am from Him, and He did send me.'

Я же знаю Его, потому что Я от Него пришел и потому что Он послал Меня!

30 T hey were seeking, therefore, to seize him, and no one laid the hand on him, because his hour had not yet come,

Они хотели схватить Иисуса, но никто не поднял на Него руки, потому что Его время еще не настало.

31 a nd many out of the multitude did believe in him, and said -- `The Christ -- when he may come -- will he do more signs than these that this one did?'

Многие же из толпы поверили в Него. Они говорили: – Неужели когда придет Христос, Он совершит больше знамений, чем Этот Человек ? Религиозные вожди пытаются арестовать Иисуса

32 T he Pharisees heard the multitude murmuring these things concerning him, and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers that they may take him;

Фарисеи услышали, что говорят об Иисусе в толпе, и поэтому первосвященники и фарисеи послали храмовую стражу, чтобы арестовать Его.

33 J esus, therefore, said to them, `Yet a little time I am with you, and I go away unto Him who sent me;

Иисус сказал: – Еще не долго Мне быть с вами, и потом Я возвращусь к Пославшему Меня.

34 y e will seek me, and ye shall not find; and where I am, ye are not able to come.'

Вы будете искать Меня, но не найдете, и туда, где Я буду, вы прийти не сможете.

35 T he Jews, therefore, said among themselves, `Whither is this one about to go that we shall not find him? -- to the dispersion of the Greeks is he about to go? and to teach the Greeks;

Иудеи, бывшие там, стали спрашивать друг друга: – Куда это Он собирается идти, что мы не сможем прийти туда? Может, Он намерен пойти туда, где наш народ живет рассеянным среди греков, чтобы учить греков?

36 w hat is this word that he said, Ye will seek me, and ye shall not find? and, Where I am, ye are not able to come?'

Что Он имел в виду, когда говорил: «Вы будете искать Меня, но не найдете» и «Туда, где Я буду, вы прийти не сможете»?

37 A nd in the last, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, `If any one doth thirst, let him come unto me and drink;

В последний и самый торжественный день праздника Иисус встал и громко возгласил: – Кто хочет пить, пусть приходит ко Мне и пьет.

38 h e who is believing in me, according as the Writing said, Rivers out of his belly shall flow of living water;'

Кто верит в Меня, как говорит Писание, у того из сердца потекут реки живой воды.

39 a nd this he said of the Spirit, which those believing in him were about to receive; for not yet was the Holy Spirit, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

Иисус имел в виду Духа, Которого поверившие в Него должны были позже получить. Дух еще не был дан верующим, так как Иисус еще не был прославлен.

40 M any, therefore out of the multitude, having heard the word, said, `This is truly the Prophet;'

Некоторые люди в толпе, услышав слова Иисуса, сказали: – Он действительно Тот Самый Пророк!

41 o thers said, `This is the Christ;' and others said, `Why, out of Galilee doth the Christ come?

Другие говорили: – Он – Христос! Третьи говорили: – Разве из Галилеи Христос придет?

42 D id not the Writing say, that out of the seed of David, and from Bethlehem -- the village where David was -- the Christ doth come?'

Разве не сказано в Писании, что Христос будет из рода Давида и из Вифлеема, того селения, откуда был Давид?

43 A division, therefore, arose among the multitude because of him.

Народ разделился во мнениях об Иисусе.

44 A nd certain of them were willing to seize him, but no one laid hands on him;

Некоторые хотели схватить Его, но никто не поднял на Иисуса руки. Неверие иудейских начальников

45 t he officers came, therefore, unto the chief priests and Pharisees, and they said to them, `Wherefore did ye not bring him?'

Когда стражники храма возвратились к первосвященникам и фарисеям, те спросили их: – Почему вы не привели Его?

46 T he officers answered, `Never so spake man -- as this man.'

Стражники ответили: – Никто еще так не говорил, как Этот Человек.

47 T he Pharisees, therefore, answered them, `Have ye also been led astray?

– Он что, и вас тоже обманул? – спросили фарисеи.

48 d id any one out of the rulers believe in him? or out of the Pharisees?

– Разве хоть один из начальников или из фарисеев Ему поверил?

49 b ut this multitude, that is not knowing the law, is accursed.'

А что эта толпа понимает в Законе? Эти люди прокляты.

50 N icodemus saith unto them -- he who came by night unto him -- being one of them,

Никодим, один из фарисеев, который как-то раньше приходил к Иисусу, спросил:

51 ` Doth our law judge the man, if it may not hear from him first, and know what he doth?'

– Разве наш Закон дает право судить человека, не выслушав его вначале и не узнав, что он делает?

52 T hey answered and said to him, `Art thou also out of Galilee? search and see, that a prophet out of Galilee hath not risen;'

Они ответили: – Ты что, тоже из Галилеи? Посмотри в Писании, и ты увидишь, что ни один пророк из Галилеи не приходит.

53 a nd each one went on to his house, but Jesus went on to the mount of the Olives.

После этого все разошлись по домам.
