1 A nd Isaac calleth unto Jacob, and blesseth him, and commandeth him, and saith to him, `Thou dost not take a wife of the daughters of Caanan;

Y llamó Isaac a Jacob, lo bendijo y le ordenó, diciendo: No tomarás mujer de entre las hijas de Canaán.

2 r ise, go to Padan-Aram, to the house of Bethuel, thy mother's father, and take for thyself from thence a wife, of the daughters of Laban, thy mother's brother;

Levántate, ve a Padán-aram, a casa de Betuel, padre de tu madre; y toma de allí mujer de entre las hijas de Labán, hermano de tu madre.

3 a nd God Almighty doth bless thee, and make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, and thou hast become an assembly of peoples;

Y el Dios Todopoderoso te bendiga, te haga fecundo y te multiplique, para que llegues a ser multitud de pueblos.

4 a nd He doth give to thee the blessing of Abraham, to thee and to thy seed with thee, to cause thee to possess the land of thy sojournings, which God gave to Abraham.'

Y te dé también la bendición de Abraham, a ti y a tu descendencia contigo, para que tomes posesión de la tierra de tus peregrinaciones, la que Dios dio a Abraham.

5 A nd Isaac sendeth away Jacob, and he goeth to Padan-Aram, unto Laban, son of Bethuel the Aramaean, brother of Rebekah, mother of Jacob and Esau.

Entonces Isaac despidió a Jacob, y éste fue a Padán-aram, a casa de Labán, hijo de Betuel arameo, hermano de Rebeca, madre de Jacob y Esaú.

6 A nd Esau seeth that Isaac hath blessed Jacob, and hath sent him to Padan-Aram to take to himself from thence a wife -- in his blessing him that he layeth a charge upon him, saying, Thou dost not take a wife from the daughters of Canaan --

Y vio Esaú que Isaac había bendecido a Jacob y lo había enviado a Padán-aram para tomar allí mujer para sí, y que cuando lo bendijo, le dio órdenes, diciendo: No tomarás para ti mujer de entre las hijas de Canaán,

7 t hat Jacob hearkeneth unto his father and unto his mother, and goeth to Padan-Aram --

y que Jacob había obedecido a su padre y a su madre, y se había ido a Padán-aram.

8 a nd Esau seeth that the daughters of Canaan are evil in the eyes of Isaac his father,

Vio, pues, Esaú que las hijas de Canaán no eran del agrado de su padre Isaac;

9 a nd Esau goeth unto Ishmael, and taketh Mahalath, daughter of Ishmael, Abraham's son, sister of Nebajoth, unto his wives, to himself, for a wife.

y Esaú fue a Ismael, y tomó por mujer, además de las mujeres que ya tenía, a Mahalat, hija de Ismael, hijo de Abraham, hermana de Nebaiot. Sueño de Jacob

10 A nd Jacob goeth out from Beer-Sheba, and goeth toward Haran,

Y salió Jacob de Beerseba, y fue para Harán.

11 a nd he toucheth at a place, and lodgeth there, for the sun hath gone in, and he taketh of the stones of the place, and maketh his pillows, and lieth down in that place.

Y llegó a cierto lugar y pasó la noche allí, porque el sol se había puesto; tomó una de las piedras del lugar, la puso de cabecera y se acostó en aquel lugar.

12 A nd he dreameth, and lo, a ladder set up on the earth, and its head is touching the heavens; and lo, messengers of God are going up and coming down by it;

Y tuvo un sueño, y he aquí, había una escalera apoyada en la tierra cuyo extremo superior alcanzaba hasta el cielo; y he aquí, los ángeles de Dios subían y bajaban por ella.

13 a nd lo, Jehovah is standing upon it, and He saith, `I Jehovah, God of Abraham thy father, and God of Isaac; the land on which thou art lying, to thee I give it, and to thy seed;

Y he aquí, el Señor estaba sobre ella, y dijo: Yo soy el Señor, el Dios de tu padre Abraham y el Dios de Isaac. La tierra en la que estás acostado te la daré a ti y a tu descendencia.

14 a nd thy seed hath been as the dust of the land, and thou hast broken forth westward, and eastward, and northward, and southward, and all families of the ground have been blessed in thee and in thy seed.

También tu descendencia será como el polvo de la tierra, y te extenderás hacia el occidente y hacia el oriente, hacia el norte y hacia el sur; y en ti y en tu simiente serán bendecidas todas las familias de la tierra.

15 ` And lo, I with thee, and have kept thee whithersoever thou goest, and have caused thee to turn back unto this ground; for I leave thee not till that I have surely done that which I have spoken to thee.'

He aquí, yo estoy contigo, y te guardaré por dondequiera que vayas y te haré volver a esta tierra; porque no te dejaré hasta que haya hecho lo que te he prometido.

16 A nd Jacob awaketh out of his sleep, and saith, `Surely Jehovah is in this place, and I knew not;'

Despertó Jacob de su sueño y dijo: Ciertamente el Señor está en este lugar y yo no lo sabía.

17 a nd he feareth, and saith, `How fearful this place; this is nothing but a house of God, and this a gate of the heavens.'

Y tuvo miedo y dijo: ¡Cuán imponente es este lugar! Esto no es más que la casa de Dios, y esta es la puerta del cielo.

18 A nd Jacob riseth early in the morning, and taketh the stone which he hath made his pillows, and maketh it a standing pillar, and poureth oil upon its top,

Y se levantó Jacob muy de mañana, y tomó la piedra que había puesto de cabecera, la erigió por señal y derramó aceite por encima.

19 a nd he calleth the name of that place Bethel, and yet, Luz the name of the city at the first.

Y a aquel lugar le puso el nombre de Betel, aunque anteriormente el nombre de la ciudad había sido Luz.

20 A nd Jacob voweth a vow, saying, `Seeing God is with me, and hath kept me in this way which I am going, and hath given to me bread to eat, and a garment to put on --

Entonces hizo Jacob un voto, diciendo: Si Dios está conmigo y me guarda en este camino en que voy, y me da alimento para comer y ropa para vestir,

21 w hen I have turned back in peace unto the house of my father, and Jehovah hath become my God,

y vuelvo sano y salvo a casa de mi padre, entonces el Señor será mi Dios.

22 t hen this stone which I have made a standing pillar is a house of God, and all that Thou dost give to me -- tithing I tithe to Thee.'

Y esta piedra que he puesto por señal será casa de Dios; y de todo lo que me des, te daré el diezmo.
