1 A nd it came to pass thereafter, that he was going through every city and village, preaching and proclaiming good news of the reign of God, and the twelve with him,

Y poco después, El comenzó a recorrer las ciudades y aldeas, proclamando y anunciando las buenas nuevas del reino de Dios; con El iban los doce,

2 a nd certain women, who were healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary who is called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone forth,

y también algunas mujeres que habían sido sanadas de espíritus malos y de enfermedades: María, llamada Magdalena, de la que habían salido siete demonios,

3 a nd Joanna wife of Chuza, steward of Herod, and Susanna, and many others, who were ministering to him from their substance.

y Juana, mujer de Chuza, mayordomo de Herodes, y Susana, y muchas otras que de sus bienes personales contribuían al sostenimiento de ellos. Parábola del sembrador

4 A nd a great multitude having gathered, and those who from city and city were coming unto him, he spake by a simile:

Habiéndose congregado una gran multitud, y los que de varias ciudades acudían a El, les habló por parábola:

5 ` The sower went forth to sow his seed, and in his sowing some indeed fell beside the way, and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the heaven did devour it.

El sembrador salió a sembrar su semilla; y al sembrarla, una parte cayó junto al camino, y fue pisoteada y las aves del cielo se la comieron.

6 ` And other fell upon the rock, and having sprung up, it did wither, through not having moisture.

Otra parte cayó sobre la roca, y tan pronto como creció, se secó, porque no tenía humedad.

7 ` And other fell amidst the thorns, and the thorns having sprung up with it, did choke it.

Otra parte cayó en medio de los espinos; y los espinos, al crecer con ella, la ahogaron.

8 ` And other fell upon the good ground, and having sprung up, it made fruit an hundred fold.' These things saying, he was calling, `He having ears to hear -- let him hear.'

Y otra parte cayó en tierra buena, y creció y produjo una cosecha a ciento por uno. Y al hablar estas cosas, Jesús exclamaba: El que tiene oídos para oír, que oiga. Explicación de la parábola

9 A nd his disciples were questioning him, saying, `What may this simile be?'

Sus discípulos le preguntaban qué quería decir esta parábola,

10 A nd he said, `To you it hath been given to know the secrets of the reign of God, and to the rest in similes; that seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.

y El dijo: A vosotros se os ha concedido conocer los misterios del reino de Dios, pero a los demás les hablo en parábolas, para que viendo, no vean; y oyendo, no entiendan.

11 ` And this is the simile: The seed is the word of God,

La parábola es ésta: la semilla es la palabra de Dios.

12 a nd those beside the way are those hearing, then cometh the Devil, and taketh up the word from their heart, lest having believed, they may be saved.

Y aquéllos a lo largo del camino son los que han oído, pero después viene el diablo y arrebata la palabra de sus corazones, para que no crean y se salven.

13 ` And those upon the rock: They who, when they may hear, with joy do receive the word, and these have no root, who for a time believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

Y aquéllos sobre la roca son los que, cuando oyen, reciben la palabra con gozo; pero éstos no tienen raíz profunda; creen por algún tiempo, y en el momento de la tentación sucumben.

14 ` And that which fell to the thorns: These are they who have heard, and going forth, through anxieties, and riches, and pleasures of life, are choked, and bear not to completion.

Y la semilla que cayó entre los espinos, éstos son los que han oído, y al continuar su camino son ahogados por las preocupaciones, las riquezas y los placeres de la vida, y su fruto no madura.

15 ` And that in the good ground: These are they, who in an upright and good heart, having heard the word, do retain, and bear fruit in continuance.

Pero la semilla en la tierra buena, éstos son los que han oído la palabra con corazón recto y bueno, y la retienen, y dan fruto con su perseverancia.

16 ` And no one having lighted a lamp doth cover it with a vessel, or under a couch doth put; but upon a lamp-stand he doth put, that those coming in may see the light,

Nadie enciende una lámpara y la cubre con una vasija, o la pone debajo de una cama, sino que la pone sobre un candelero para que los que entren vean la luz.

17 f or nothing is secret, that shall not become manifest, nor hid, that shall not be known, and become manifest.

Pues no hay nada oculto que no haya de ser manifiesto, ni secreto que no haya de ser conocido y salga a la luz.

18 ` See, therefore, how ye hear, for whoever may have, there shall be given to him, and whoever may not have, also what he seemeth to have, shall be taken from him.'

Por tanto, tened cuidado de cómo oís; porque al que tiene, más le será dado; y al que no tiene, aun lo que cree que tiene se le quitará. La madre y los hermanos de Jesús

19 A nd there came unto him his mother and brethren, and they were not able to get to him because of the multitude,

Entonces su madre y sus hermanos llegaron a donde El estaba, pero no podían acercarse a El debido al gentío.

20 a nd it was told him, saying, `Thy mother and thy brethren do stand without, wishing to see thee;'

Y le avisaron: Tu madre y tus hermanos están afuera y quieren verte.

21 a nd he answering said unto them, `My mother and my brethren! they are those who the word of God are hearing, and doing.'

Pero respondiendo El, les dijo: Mi madre y mis hermanos son estos que oyen la palabra de Dios y la hacen. Jesús calma la tempestad

22 A nd it came to pass, on one of the days, that he himself went into a boat with his disciples, and he said unto them, `We may go over to the other side of the lake;' and they set forth,

Y uno de aquellos días, entró en una barca con sus discípulos, y les dijo: Pasemos al otro lado del lago. Y se hicieron a la mar.

23 a nd as they are sailing he fell deeply asleep, and there came down a storm of wind to the lake, and they were filling, and were in peril.

Pero mientras ellos navegaban, El se durmió; y una violenta tempestad descendió sobre el lago, y comenzaron a anegarse y corrían peligro.

24 A nd having come near, they awoke him, saying, `Master, master, we perish;' and he, having arisen, rebuked the wind and the raging of the water, and they ceased, and there came a calm,

Y llegándose a El, le despertaron, diciendo: ¡Maestro, Maestro, que perecemos! Y El, levantándose, reprendió al viento y a las olas embravecidas, y cesaron y sobrevino la calma.

25 a nd he said to them, `Where is your faith?' and they being afraid did wonder, saying unto one another, `Who, then, is this, that even the winds he doth command, and the water, and they obey him?'

Y El les dijo: ¿Dónde está vuestra fe? Pero ellos estaban atemorizados y asombrados, diciéndose unos a otros: ¿Quién, pues, es éste que aun a los vientos y al agua manda y le obedecen? El endemoniado gadareno

26 A nd they sailed down to the region of the Gadarenes, that is over-against Galilee,

Navegaron hacia la tierra de los gadarenos que está al lado opuesto de Galilea;

27 a nd he having gone forth upon the land, there met him a certain man, out of the city, who had demons for a long time, and with a garment was not clothed, and in a house was not abiding, but in the tombs,

y cuando El bajó a tierra, le salió al encuentro un hombre de la ciudad poseído por demonios, y que por mucho tiempo no se había puesto ropa alguna, ni vivía en una casa, sino en los sepulcros.

28 a nd having seen Jesus, and having cried out, he fell before him, and with a loud voice, said, `What -- to me and to thee, Jesus, Son of God Most High? I beseech thee, mayest thou not afflict me!'

Al ver a Jesús, gritó y cayó delante de El, y dijo en alta voz: ¿Qué tengo yo que ver contigo, Jesús, Hijo del Dios Altísimo? Te ruego que no me atormentes.

29 F or he commanded the unclean spirit to come forth from the man, for many times it had caught him, and he was being bound with chains and fetters -- guarded, and breaking asunder the bonds he was driven by the demons to the deserts.

Porque El mandaba al espíritu inmundo que saliera del hombre, pues muchas veces se había apoderado de él, y estaba atado con cadenas y grillos y bajo guardia; a pesar de todo rompía las ataduras y era impelido por el demonio a los desiertos.

30 A nd Jesus questioned him, saying, `What is thy name?' and he said, `Legion,' (because many demons were entered into him,)

Entonces Jesús le preguntó: ¿Cómo te llamas? Y él dijo: Legión; porque muchos demonios habían entrado en él.

31 a nd he was calling on him, that he may not command them to go away to the abyss,

Y le rogaban que no les ordenara irse al abismo.

32 a nd there was there a herd of many swine feeding in the mountain, and they were calling on him, that he might suffer them to enter into these, and he suffered them,

Y había una piara de muchos cerdos paciendo allí en el monte; y los demonios le rogaron que les permitiera entrar en los cerdos. Y El les dio permiso.

33 a nd the demons having gone forth from the man, did enter into the swine, and the herd rushed down the steep to the lake, and were choked.

Los demonios salieron del hombre y entraron en los cerdos; y la piara se precipitó por el despeñadero al lago, y se ahogaron.

34 A nd those feeding, having seen what was come to pass, fled, and having gone, told to the city, and to the fields;

Y cuando los que los cuidaban vieron lo que había sucedido, huyeron y lo contaron en la ciudad y por los campos.

35 a nd they came forth to see what was come to pass, and they came unto Jesus, and found the man sitting, out of whom the demons had gone forth, clothed, and right-minded, at the feet of Jesus, and they were afraid;

Salió entonces la gente a ver qué había sucedido; y vinieron a Jesús, y encontraron al hombre de quien habían salido los demonios, sentado a los pies de Jesús, vestido y en su cabal juicio, y se llenaron de temor.

36 a nd those also having seen, told them how the demoniac was saved.

Y los que lo habían visto, les contaron cómo el que estaba endemoniado había sido sanado.

37 A nd the whole multitude of the region of the Gadarenes round about asked him to go away from them, because with great fear they were pressed, and he having entered into the boat, did turn back.

Entonces toda la gente de la región alrededor de los gadarenos le pidió a Jesús que se alejara de ellos, porque estaban poseídos de un gran temor. Y El entrando a una barca, regresó.

38 A nd the man from whom the demons had gone forth was beseeching of him to be with him, and Jesus sent him away, saying,

Pero el hombre de quien habían salido los demonios le rogaba que le permitiera acompañarle; mas El lo despidió, diciendo:

39 ` Turn back to thy house, and tell how great things God did to thee;' and he went away through all the city proclaiming how great things Jesus did to him.

Vuelve a tu casa, y cuenta cuán grandes cosas Dios ha hecho por ti. Y él se fue, proclamando por toda la ciudad cuán grandes cosas Jesús había hecho por él. Jairo ruega por su hija

40 A nd it came to pass, in the turning back of Jesus, the multitude received him, for they were all looking for him,

Cuando Jesús volvió, la multitud le recibió con gozo, porque todos le habían estado esperando.

41 a nd lo, there came a man, whose name Jairus, and he was a chief of the synagogue, and having fallen at the feet of Jesus, was calling on him to come to his house;

Y he aquí, llegó un hombre llamado Jairo, que era un oficial de la sinagoga; y cayendo a los pies de Jesús le rogaba que entrara a su casa;

42 b ecause he had an only daughter about twelve years, and she was dying. And in his going away, the multitudes were thronging him,

porque tenía una hija única, como de doce años, que estaba al borde de la muerte. Pero mientras El iba, la muchedumbre le apretaba. Jesús sana a una mujer

43 a nd a woman, having an issue of blood for twelve years, who, having spent on physicians all her living, was not able to be healed by any,

Y una mujer que había tenido un flujo de sangre por doce años y que había gastado en médicos todo cuanto tenía y no podía ser curada por nadie,

44 h aving come near behind, touched the fringe of his garment, and presently the issue of her blood stood.

se acercó a Jesús por detrás y tocó el borde de su manto, y al instante cesó el flujo de su sangre.

45 A nd Jesus said, `Who it that touched me?' and all denying, Peter and those with him said, `Master, the multitudes press thee, and throng, and thou dost say, Who it that touched me!'

Y Jesús dijo: ¿Quién es el que me ha tocado? Mientras todos lo negaban, Pedro dijo, y los que con él estaban: Maestro, las multitudes te aprietan y te oprimen.

46 A nd Jesus said, `Some one did touch me, for I knew power having gone forth from me.'

Pero Jesús dijo: Alguien me tocó, porque me di cuenta que de mí había salido poder.

47 A nd the woman, having seen that she was not hid, trembling, came, and having fallen before him, for what cause she touched him declared to him before all the people, and how she was healed presently;

Al ver la mujer que ella no había pasado inadvertida, se acercó temblando, y cayendo delante de El, declaró en presencia de todo el pueblo la razón por la cual le había tocado, y cómo al instante había sido sanada.

48 a nd he said to her, `Take courage, daughter, thy faith hath saved thee, be going on to peace.'

Y El le dijo: Hija, tu fe te ha sanado; vete en paz. Jesús resucita a la hija de Jairo

49 W hile he is yet speaking, there doth come a certain one from the chief of the synagogue's, saying to him -- `Thy daughter hath died, harass not the Teacher;'

Mientras estaba todavía hablando, vino alguien de la casa del oficial de la sinagoga, diciendo: Tu hija ha muerto; no molestes más al Maestro.

50 a nd Jesus having heard, answered him, saying, `Be not afraid, only believe, and she shall be saved.'

Pero cuando Jesús lo oyó, le respondió: No temas; cree solamente, y ella será sanada.

51 A nd having come to the house, he suffered no one to go in, except Peter, and James, and John, and the father of the child, and the mother;

Y cuando El llegó a la casa, no permitió que nadie entrara con El sino sólo Pedro, Juan y Jacobo, y el padre y la madre de la muchacha.

52 a nd they were all weeping, and beating themselves for her, and he said, `Weep not, she did not die, but doth sleep;

Todos la lloraban y se lamentaban; pero El dijo: No lloréis, porque no ha muerto, sino que duerme.

53 a nd they were deriding him, knowing that she did die;

Y se burlaban de El, sabiendo que ella había muerto.

54 a nd he having put all forth without, and having taken hold of her hand, called, saying, `Child, arise;'

Pero El, tomándola de la mano, clamó, diciendo: ¡Niña, levántate!

55 a nd her spirit came back, and she arose presently, and he directed that there be given to her to eat;

Entonces le volvió su espíritu, y se levantó al instante, y El mandó que le dieran de comer.

56 a nd her parents were amazed, but he charged them to say to no one what was come to pass.

Y sus padres estaban asombrados; pero El les encargó que no dijeran a nadie lo que había sucedido.
