1 A nd he maketh for himself houses in the city of David, and prepareth a place for the ark of God, and stretcheth out for it a tent.

Y David hizo para sí casas en la ciudad de David, y preparó un lugar para el arca de Dios y levantó una tienda para ella.

2 T hen said David, `None to carry the ark of God, except the Levites, for on them hath Jehovah fixed to carry the ark of God, and to serve Him -- unto the age.'

Entonces David dijo: Nadie ha de llevar el arca de Dios sino los levitas; porque el Señor los escogió para llevar el arca de Dios y servirle para siempre.

3 A nd David assembleth all Israel unto Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of Jehovah unto its place that he had prepared for it.

Y congregó David a todo Israel en Jerusalén para subir el arca del Señor al lugar que había preparado para ella.

4 A nd David gathereth the sons of Aaron, and the Levites.

Y reunió David a los hijos de Aarón y a los levitas:

5 O f sons of Kohath: Uriel the chief, and his brethren, a hundred and twenty.

de los hijos de Coat: Uriel el jefe, y ciento veinte de sus parientes;

6 O f sons of Merari: Asaiah the chief, and his brethren, two hundred and twenty.

7 O f sons of Gershom: Joel the chief, and his brethren, a hundred and thirty.

8 O f sons of Elizaphan: Shemaiah the chief, and his brethren, two hundred.

9 O f sons of Hebron: Eliel the chief, and his brethren, eighty.

11 A nd David calleth to Zadok and to Abiathar the priests, and to the Levites, to Uriel, Asaiah, and Joel, Shemaiah, and Eliel, and Amminadab,

Entonces David hizo llamar a los sacerdotes Sadoc y Abiatar y a los levitas Uriel, Asaías, Joel, Semaías, Eliel y Aminadab,

12 a nd saith to them, `Ye heads of the fathers of the Levites; sanctify yourselves, ye and your brethren, and ye have brought up the ark of Jehovah, God of Israel, unto I have prepared for it;

y les dijo: Vosotros sois los jefes de las casas paternas de los levitas; santificaos, tanto vosotros como vuestros parientes, para que subáis el arca del Señor, Dios de Israel, al lugar que le he preparado.

13 b ecause at the first not ye, Jehovah our God made a breach upon us, because we sought Him not according to the ordinance.'

Puesto que no la llevasteis la primera vez, el Señor nuestro Dios estalló en ira contra nosotros, ya que no le buscamos conforme a la ordenanza.

14 A nd the priests and the Levites sanctify themselves, to bring up the ark of Jehovah, God of Israel;

Se santificaron, pues, los sacerdotes y los levitas para subir el arca del Señor, Dios de Israel.

15 a nd sons of the Levites bear the ark of God, as Moses commanded, according to the word of Jehovah, on their shoulder, with staves, above them.

Y los hijos de los levitas llevaron el arca de Dios sobre sus hombros, con las barras puestas, como Moisés había ordenado conforme a la palabra del Señor.

16 A nd David saith to the heads of the Levites to appoint their brethren the singers, with instruments of song, psalteries, and harps, and cymbals, sounding, to lift up with the voice for joy.

Entonces David habló a los jefes de los levitas para que designaran a sus parientes los cantores, con instrumentos de música, arpas, liras y címbalos muy resonantes, alzando la voz con alegría.

17 A nd the Levites appoint Heman son of Joel, and of his brethren, Asaph son of Berechiah, and of the sons of Merari their brethren, Ethan son of Kushaiah;

Y los levitas designaron a Hemán, hijo de Joel; y de sus parientes, a Asaf, hijo de Berequías; y de los hijos de Merari, sus parientes, a Etán, hijo de Cusaías,

18 a nd with them their brethren, the seconds, Zechariah, Ben, and Jaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah; and Obed-Edom and Jeiel the gatekeepers;

y con ellos en segundo lugar a sus parientes: Zacarías, Ben, Jaaziel, Semiramot, Jehiel, Uni, Eliab, Benaía, Maasías, Matatías, Elifelehu, Micnías, Obed-edom y Jeiel, los porteros.

19 a nd the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, with cymbals of brass to sound,

Los cantores Hemán, Asaf y Etán fueron designados para hacer resonar címbalos de bronce;

20 a nd Zechariah, and Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jeheil, and Unni, and Eliab, and Maaseiah, and Benaiah, with psalteries besides virgins,

y Zacarías, Aziel, Semiramot, Jehiel, Uni, Eliab, Maasías y Benaía, con arpas templadas para alamot;

21 a nd Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obed-Edom, and Jeiel, and Azaziah, with harps, on the octave, to oversee.

y Matatías, Elifelehu, Micnías, Obed-edom, Jeiel y Azazías, para dirigir con liras templadas para el seminit.

22 A nd Chenaniah, head of the Levites, over the burden; he instructeth about the burden, for he intelligent.

Y Quenanías, jefe de los levitas, estaba a cargo del canto; él dirigía el canto, porque era hábil.

23 A nd Berechiah and Elkanah gatekeepers for the ark.

Y Berequías y Elcana eran porteros del arca.

24 A nd Shebaniah, and Joshaphat, and Nethaneel, and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer the priests, are blowing with trumpets before the ark of God; and Obed-Edom and Jehiah gatekeepers for the ark.

Y Sebanías, Josafat, Natanael, Amasai, Zacarías, Benaía y Eliezer, los sacerdotes, tocaban las trompetas delante del arca de Dios. Obed-edom y Jehías también eran porteros del arca.

25 A nd it is David, and the elders of Israel, and the heads of the thousands, who are going to bring up the ark of the covenant of Jehovah from the house of Obed-Edom with joy;

Fue, pues, David con los ancianos de Israel y los capitanes sobre miles a traer con alegría el arca del pacto del Señor desde la casa de Obed-edom.

26 a nd it cometh to pass, in God's helping the Levites bearing the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, that they sacrifice seven bullocks and seven rams.

Y sucedió que como Dios ayudaba a los levitas que llevaban el arca del pacto del Señor, ellos sacrificaron siete novillos y siete carneros.

27 A nd David is wrapped in an upper robe of fine linen, and all the Levites who are bearing the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah head of the burden of the singers; and on David an Ephod of linen.

David iba vestido de un manto de lino fino, también todos los levitas que llevaban el arca, asimismo los cantores y Quenanías, director de canto entre los cantores. David además llevaba encima un efod de lino.

28 A nd all Israel are bringing up the ark of the covenant of Jehovah with shouting, and with the sound of a cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, sounding with psalteries and harps,

Así todo Israel iba subiendo el arca del pacto del Señor con aclamaciones, con sonido de bocina, con trompetas, con címbalos muy resonantes, con arpas y liras.

29 a nd it cometh to pass, the ark of the covenant of Jehovah is entering in unto the city of David, and Michal daughter of Saul is looking through the window, and seeth king David dancing and playing, and despiseth him in her heart.

Y sucedió que cuando el arca del pacto del Señor entró en la ciudad de David, Mical, hija de Saúl, miró por la ventana, y vio al rey David saltando y regocijándose; y lo despreció en su corazón.
