1 S end ye a lamb the ruler of the land, From Selah in the wilderness, Unto the mount of the daughter of Zion.

Enviad el cordero del tributo al gobernante de la tierra, desde Sela en el desierto al monte de la hija de Sion.

2 A nd it hath come to pass, As a wandering bird, a nest cast out, Are daughters of Moab, fords of Arnon.

Y como aves fugitivas o nidada dispersa, serán las hijas de Moab en los vados del Arnón.

3 B ring ye in counsel, do judgment, Make as night thy shadow in the midst of noon, Hide outcasts, the wanderer reveal not.

Danos consejo, toma una decisión; da tu sombra como la noche en pleno mediodía; esconde a los desterrados, no entregues al fugitivo.

4 S ojourn in thee do My outcasts, O Moab, Be a secret hiding-place to them, From the face of a destroyer, For ceased hath the extortioner, Finished hath been a destroyer, Consumed the treaders down out of the land.

Quédense contigo los desterrados de Moab; sé para ellos escondedero ante el destructor. Porque ha llegado a su fin el explotador, ha cesado la destrucción, han desaparecido los opresores de la tierra.

5 A nd established in kindness is the throne, And hath sat on it in truth, in the tent of David, Judging and seeking judgment, and hasting righteousness.

Se establecerá en la misericordia un trono, y en él se sentará con fidelidad, en la tienda de David, un juez que busque lo justo y esté presto a la justicia.

6 W e have heard of the pride of Moab -- very proud, His pride, and his arrogance, and his wrath, Not right his devices.

Hemos oído del orgullo de Moab, un gran orgullo, de su arrogancia, de su altivez y de su furor; son falsas sus vanas jactancias.

7 T herefore howl doth Moab for Moab, all of it doth howl, For the grape-cakes of Kir-Hareseth it meditateth, Surely they are smitten.

Por tanto Moab gemirá por Moab; todo él gemirá. Por las tortas de pasas de Kir-hareset os lamentaréis, abatidos por completo.

8 B ecause fields of Heshbon languish, The vine of Sibmah, Lords of nations did beat her choice vines, Unto Jazer they have come, They have wandered in a wilderness, Her plants have spread themselves, They have passed over a sea.

Porque los campos de Hesbón se han marchitado, también las vides de Sibma; los señores de las naciones pisotearon sus mejores racimos, hasta Jazer alcanzaban y se extendían por el desierto; sus sarmientos se extendían y pasaban el mar.

9 T herefore I weep with the weeping of Jazer, The vine of Sibmah, I water thee my tear, O Heshbon and Elealeh, For -- for thy summer fruits, and for thy harvest, The shouting hath fallen.

Por eso lloraré amargamente por Jazer, por la viña de Sibma; te bañaré con mis lágrimas, oh Hesbón y Eleale, porque sobre tus frutos de verano y sobre tu cosecha se ha extinguido el clamor,

10 A nd removed have been gladness and joy from the fruitful field, And in vineyards they sing not, nor shout, Wine in the presses treadeth not the treader, Shouting I have caused to cease.

y se han retirado la alegría y el regocijo del campo fértil. En las viñas nadie canta de júbilo ni grita de alegría. No pisa vino en los lagares el pisador, pues he hecho cesar el clamor.

11 T herefore my bowels for Moab as a harp do sound, And mine inward parts for Kir-Haresh.

Por eso mis entrañas vibran por Moab como un arpa, y mi interior por Kir-hareset.

12 A nd it hath come to pass, when it hath been seen, That weary hath been Moab on the high place, And he hath come unto his sanctuary to pray, And is not able.

Y sucederá que cuando Moab se presente, cuando se fatigue sobre su lugar alto, y venga a su santuario para orar, no prevalecerá.

13 T his the word that Jehovah hath spoken unto Moab from that time,

Esta es la palabra que el Señor habló antes acerca de Moab.

14 A nd now hath Jehovah spoken, saying, `In three years, as years of an hireling, Lightly esteemed is the honour of Moab, With all the great multitude, And the remnant little, small, not mighty!'

Pero ahora el Señor habla, diciendo: Dentro de tres años, como los contaría un jornalero, la gloria de Moab será despreciada con toda su gran muchedumbre, y su remanente será muy pequeño y débil.
