1 B ecause of this, having this ministration, according as we did receive kindness, we do not faint,

Por tanto, puesto que tenemos este ministerio, según hemos recibido misericordia, no desfallecemos;

2 b ut did renounce for ourselves the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor deceitfully using the word of God, but by the manifestation of the truth recommending ourselves unto every conscience of men, before God;

sino que hemos renunciado a lo oculto y vergonzoso, no andando con astucia, ni adulterando la palabra de Dios, sino que, mediante la manifestación de la verdad, nos recomendamos a la conciencia de todo hombre en la presencia de Dios.

3 a nd if also our good news is vailed, in those perishing it is vailed,

Y si todavía nuestro evangelio está velado, para los que se pierden está velado,

4 i n whom the god of this age did blind the minds of the unbelieving, that there doth not shine forth to them the enlightening of the good news of the glory of the Christ, who is the image of God;

en los cuales el dios de este mundo ha cegado el entendimiento de los incrédulos, para que no vean el resplandor del evangelio de la gloria de Cristo, que es la imagen de Dios.

5 f or not ourselves do we preach, but Christ Jesus -- Lord, and ourselves your servants because of Jesus;

Porque no nos predicamos a nosotros mismos, sino a Cristo Jesús como Señor, y a nosotros como siervos vuestros por amor de Jesús.

6 b ecause God who said, Out of darkness light to shine, who did shine in our hearts, for the enlightening of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Pues Dios, que dijo que de las tinieblas resplandeciera la luz, es el que ha resplandecido en nuestros corazones, para iluminación del conocimiento de la gloria de Dios en la faz de Cristo.

7 A nd we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us;

Pero tenemos este tesoro en vasos de barro, para que la extraordinaria grandeza del poder sea de Dios y no de nosotros.

8 o n every side being in tribulation, but not straitened; perplexed, but not in despair;

Afligidos en todo, pero no agobiados; perplejos, pero no desesperados;

9 p ersecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;

perseguidos, pero no abandonados; derribados, pero no destruidos;

10 a t all times the dying of the Lord Jesus bearing about in the body, that the life also of Jesus in our body may be manifested,

llevando siempre en el cuerpo por todas partes la muerte de Jesús, para que también la vida de Jesús se manifieste en nuestro cuerpo.

11 f or always are we who are living delivered up to death because of Jesus, that the life also of Jesus may be manifested in our dying flesh,

Porque nosotros que vivimos, constantemente estamos siendo entregados a muerte por causa de Jesús, para que también la vida de Jesús se manifieste en nuestro cuerpo mortal.

12 s o that, the death indeed in us doth work, and the life in you.

Así que en nosotros obra la muerte, pero en vosotros, la vida.

13 A nd having the same spirit of the faith, according to that which hath been written, `I believed, therefore I did speak;' we also do believe, therefore also do we speak;

Pero teniendo el mismo espíritu de fe, según lo que está escrito: Crei, por tanto hable, nosotros también creemos, por lo cual también hablamos;

14 k nowing that He who did raise up the Lord Jesus, us also through Jesus shall raise up, and shall present with you,

sabiendo que aquel que resucitó al Señor Jesús, a nosotros también nos resucitará con Jesús, y nos presentará juntamente con vosotros.

15 f or the all things because of you, that the grace having been multiplied, because of the thanksgiving of the more, may abound to the glory of God;

Porque todo esto es por amor a vosotros, para que la gracia que se está extendiendo por medio de muchos, haga que las acciones de gracias abunden para la gloria de Dios. Lo temporal y lo eterno

16 w herefore, we faint not, but if also our outward man doth decay, yet the inward is renewed day by day;

Por tanto no desfallecemos, antes bien, aunque nuestro hombre exterior va decayendo, sin embargo nuestro hombre interior se renueva de día en día.

17 f or the momentary light matter of our tribulation, more and more exceedingly an age-during weight of glory doth work out for us --

Pues esta aflicción leve y pasajera nos produce un eterno peso de gloria que sobrepasa toda comparación,

18 w e not looking to the things seen, but to the things not seen; for the things seen temporary, but the things not seen age-during.

al no poner nuestra vista en las cosas que se ven, sino en las que no se ven; porque las cosas que se ven son temporales, pero las que no se ven son eternas.
