1 A nd Jehovah saith unto Abram, `Go for thyself, from thy land, and from thy kindred, and from the house of thy father, unto the land which I shew thee.

耶 和 華 對 亞 伯 蘭 說 ： 你 要 離 開 本 地 、 本 族 、 父 家 ， 往 我 所 要 指 示 你 的 地 去 。

2 A nd I make thee become a great nation, and bless thee, and make thy name great; and be thou a blessing.

我 必 叫 你 成 為 大 國 。 我 必 賜 福 給 你 ， 叫 你 的 名 為 大 ； 你 也 要 叫 別 人 得 福 。

3 A nd I bless those blessing thee, and him who is disesteeming thee I curse, and blessed in thee have been all families of the ground.'

為 你 祝 福 的 ， 我 必 賜 福 與 他 ； 那 咒 詛 你 的 ， 我 必 咒 詛 他 。 地 上 的 萬 族 都 要 因 你 得 福 。

4 A nd Abram goeth on, as Jehovah hath spoken unto him, and Lot goeth with him, and Abram a son of five and seventy years in his going out from Charan.

亞 伯 蘭 就 照 著 耶 和 華 的 吩 咐 去 了 ； 羅 得 也 和 他 同 去 。 亞 伯 蘭 出 哈 蘭 的 時 候 年 七 十 五 歲 。

5 A nd Abram taketh Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their substance that they have gained, and the persons that they have obtained in Charan; and they go out to go towards the land of Canaan; and they come in to the land of Canaan.

亞 伯 蘭 將 他 妻 子 撒 萊 和 姪 兒 羅 得 ， 連 他 們 在 哈 蘭 所 積 蓄 的 財 物 、 所 得 的 人 口 ， 都 帶 往 迦 南 地 去 。 他 們 就 到 了 迦 南 地 。

6 A nd Abram passeth over into the land, unto the place Shechem, unto the oak of Moreh; and the Canaanite then in the land.

亞 伯 蘭 經 過 那 地 ， 到 了 示 劍 地 方 、 摩 利 橡 樹 那 裡 。 那 時 迦 南 人 住 在 那 地 。

7 A nd Jehovah appeareth unto Abram, and saith, `To thy seed I give this land;' and he buildeth there an altar to Jehovah, who hath appeared unto him.

耶 和 華 向 亞 伯 蘭 顯 現 ， 說 ： 我 要 把 這 地 賜 給 你 的 後 裔 。 亞 伯 蘭 就 在 那 裡 為 向 他 顯 現 的 耶 和 華 築 了 一 座 壇 。

8 A nd he removeth from thence towards a mountain at the east of Beth-El, and stretcheth out the tent (Beth-El at the west, and Hai at the east), and he buildeth there an altar to Jehovah, and preacheth in the name of Jehovah.

從 那 裡 他 又 遷 到 伯 特 利 東 邊 的 山 ， 支 搭 帳 棚 ； 西 邊 是 伯 特 利 ， 東 邊 是 艾 。 他 在 那 裡 又 為 耶 和 華 築 了 一 座 壇 ， 求 告 耶 和 華 的 名 。

9 A nd Abram journeyeth, going on and journeying towards the south.

後 來 亞 伯 蘭 又 漸 漸 遷 往 南 地 去 。

10 A nd there is a famine in the land, and Abram goeth down towards Egypt to sojourn there, for the famine grievous in the land;

那 地 遭 遇 饑 荒 。 因 饑 荒 甚 大 ， 亞 伯 蘭 就 下 埃 及 去 ， 要 在 那 裡 暫 居 。

11 a nd it cometh to pass as he hath drawn near to enter Egypt, that he saith unto Sarai his wife, `Lo, I pray thee, I have known that thou a woman of beautiful appearance;

將 近 埃 及 ， 就 對 他 妻 子 撒 萊 說 ： 我 知 道 你 是 容 貌 俊 美 的 婦 人 。

12 a nd it hath come to pass that the Egyptians see thee, and they have said, `This his wife,' and they have slain me, and thee they keep alive:

埃 及 人 看 見 你 必 說 ： 這 是 他 的 妻 子 ， 他 們 就 要 殺 我 ， 卻 叫 你 存 活 。

13 s ay, I pray thee, thou my sister, so that it is well with me because of thee, and my soul hath lived for thy sake.'

求 你 說 ， 你 是 我 的 妹 子 ， 使 我 因 你 得 平 安 ， 我 的 命 也 因 你 存 活 。

14 A nd it cometh to pass, at the entering of Abram into Egypt, that the Egyptians see the woman that she exceeding fair;

及 至 亞 伯 蘭 到 了 埃 及 ， 埃 及 人 看 見 那 婦 人 極 其 美 貌 。

15 a nd princes of Pharaoh see her, and praise her unto Pharaoh, and the woman is taken Pharaoh's house;

法 老 的 臣 宰 看 見 了 他 ， 就 在 法 老 面 前 誇 獎 他 。 那 婦 人 就 被 帶 進 法 老 的 宮 去 。

16 a nd to Abram he hath done good because of her, and he hath sheep and oxen, and he-asses, and men-servants, and handmaids, and she-asses, and camels.

法 老 因 這 婦 人 就 厚 待 亞 伯 蘭 ， 亞 伯 蘭 得 了 許 多 牛 、 羊 、 駱 駝 、 公 驢 、 母 驢 、 僕 婢 。

17 A nd Jehovah plagueth Pharaoh and his house -- great plagues -- for the matter of Sarai, Abram's wife.

耶 和 華 因 亞 伯 蘭 妻 子 撒 萊 的 緣 故 ， 降 大 災 與 法 老 和 他 的 全 家 。

18 A nd Pharaoh calleth for Abram, and saith, `What this thou hast done to me? why hast thou not declared to me that she thy wife?

法 老 就 召 了 亞 伯 蘭 來 ， 說 ： 你 這 向 我 作 的 是 甚 麼 事 呢 ？ 為 甚 麼 沒 有 告 訴 我 他 是 你 的 妻 子 ？

19 W hy hast thou said, She my sister, and I take her to myself for a wife? and now, lo, thy wife, take and go.'

為 甚 麼 說 他 是 你 的 妹 子 ， 以 致 我 把 他 取 來 要 作 我 的 妻 子 ？ 現 在 你 的 妻 子 在 這 裡 ， 可 以 帶 他 走 罷 。

20 A nd Pharaoh chargeth men concerning him, and they send him away, and his wife, an all that he hath.

於 是 法 老 吩 咐 人 將 亞 伯 蘭 和 他 妻 子 ， 並 他 所 有 的 都 送 走 了 。
