1 ` And it hath been, if thou dost hearken diligently to the voice of Jehovah thy God, to observe to do all His commands which I am commanding thee to-day, that Jehovah thy God hath made thee uppermost above all the nations of the earth,

І станеться, якщо дійсно будеш ти слухатися голосу Господа, Бога свого, щоб додержувати виконання всіх Його заповідей, що я наказую тобі сьогодні, то поставить тебе Господь, Бог твій, найвищим над усі народи землі.

2 a nd all these blessings have come upon thee, and overtaken thee, because thou dost hearken to the voice of Jehovah thy God:

І прийдуть на тебе всі оці благословення, і досягнуть тебе, коли ти слухатимешся голосу Господа, Бога свого.

3 ` Blessed thou in the city, and blessed thou in the field.

Благословенний ти в місті, і благословенний ти на полі!

4 ` Blessed the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, increase of thine oxen, and wealth of thy flock.

Благословенний плід утроби твоєї, і плід твоєї землі, і плід худоби твоєї, порід биків твоїх і котіння отари твоєї!

5 ` Blessed thy basket and thy kneading-trough.

Благословенний твій кіш та діжа твоя!

6 ` Blessed thou in thy coming in, and blessed thou in thy going out.

Благословенний ти у вході своїм, і благословенний ти в виході своїм!

7 ` Jehovah giveth thine enemies, who are rising up against thee -- smitten before thy face; in one way they come out unto thee, and in seven ways they flee before thee.

Господь учинить, що вороги твої, які повстають на тебе, будуть побиті перед тобою, вони однією дорогою вийдуть навперейми тебе, а сімома дорогами втікатимуть перед тобою.

8 ` Jehovah commandeth with thee the blessing in thy storehouses, and in every putting forth of thy hand, and hath blessed thee in the land which Jehovah thy God is giving to thee.

Господь накаже Своєму благословенню бути з тобою в коморах твоїх, та в усьому, чого доторкнеться рука твоя, і благословлятиме тебе в Краю, що Господь, Бог твій, дає тобі.

9 ` Jehovah doth establish thee to Himself for a holy people, as He hath sworn to thee, when thou keepest the commands of Jehovah thy God, and hast walked in His ways;

Господь поставить тебе Собі за святий народ, як присягнув був тобі, коли ти будеш додержуватися заповідей Господа, Бога твого, і підеш дорогами Його.

10 a nd all the peoples of the land have seen that the name of Jehovah is called upon thee, and they have been afraid of thee.

І побачать усі народи землі, що Господнє Ім'я кличеться на тобі, і будуть боятися тебе.

11 ` And Jehovah hath made thee abundant in good, in the fruit of the womb, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, on the ground which Jehovah hath sworn to thy fathers to give to thee.

І Господь дасть тобі добрий приріст у плоді утроби твоєї, і в плоді худоби твоєї, і в плоді поля твого на тій землі, що Господь заприсягнув був батькам твоїм, щоб дати тобі.

12 ` Jehovah doth open to thee his good treasure -- the heavens -- to give the rain of thy land in its season, and to bless all the work of thy hand, and thou hast lent to many nations, and thou -- thou dost not borrow.

Господь відчинить для тебе Свою добру скарбницю, небеса, щоб дати дощ для Краю твого в часі його, і щоб поблагословити всякий чин твоєї руки. І ти позичатимеш багатьом народам, а сам не позичатимеш ні в кого.

13 ` And Jehovah hath given thee for head, and not for tail; and thou hast been only above, and art not beneath, for thou dost hearken unto the commands of Jehovah thy God, which I am commanding thee to-day, to keep and to do,

І вчинить тебе Господь головою, а не хвостом, і ти будеш тільки верхом, а не будеш долом, коли будеш слухатися заповідей Господа, Бога свого, що я сьогодні наказую тобі, щоб додержувати й виконувати,

14 a nd thou dost not turn aside from all the words which I am commanding you to-day -- right or left -- to go after other gods, to serve them.

і не відступиш від усіх тих слів, що я сьогодні наказую вам, ані праворуч, ані ліворуч, щоб ходити за іншими богами й служити їм.

15 ` And it hath been, if thou dost not hearken unto the voice of Jehovah thy God to observe to do all His commands, and His statutes, which I am commanding thee to-day, that all these revilings have come upon thee, and overtaken thee:

Та станеться, коли ти не будеш слухатися голосу Господа, Бога свого, щоб додержувати виконання всіх Його заповідей та постанов Його, що я сьогодні наказую тобі, то прийдуть на тебе всі оці прокляття, і досягнуть тебе:

16 ` Cursed thou in the city, and cursed thou in the field.

Проклятий ти в місті, і проклятий ти в полі!

17 ` Cursed thy basket and thy kneading-trough.

Проклятий кіш твій та діжа твоя!

18 ` Cursed the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy land, increase of thine oxen, and wealth of thy flock.

Проклятий плід утроби твоєї та плід твоєї землі, порід биків твоїх та котіння отари твоєї!

19 ` Cursed thou in thy coming in, and cursed thou in thy going out.

Проклятий ти у вході своїм, і проклятий ти в виході своїм!

20 ` Jehovah doth send on thee the curse, the trouble, and the rebuke, in every putting forth of thy hand which thou dost, till thou art destroyed, and till thou perish hastily, because of the evil of thy doings which thou hast forsaken Me.

Пошле Господь на тебе прокляття, і замішання, і нещастя на всякий почин твоєї руки, що ти зробиш, аж поки ти не будеш вигублений, і аж поки ти скоро не загинеш через зло твоїх чинів, що опустив ти Мене.

21 ` Jehovah doth cause to cleave to thee the pestilence, till He consume thee from off the ground whither thou art going in to possess it.

Приліпить Господь до тебе моровицю, аж поки вона не вигубить тебе з-над землі, куди ти входиш посісти її.

22 ` Jehovah doth smite thee with consumption, and with fever, and with inflammation, and with extreme burning, and with sword, and with blasting, and with mildew, and they have pursued thee till thou perish

Ударить Господь тебе сухотами, і пропасницею, і запаленням, і гарячкою, і мечем, і посухою, і іржею, і вони будуть гнати тебе, аж поки ти не загинеш.

23 ` And thy heavens which over thy head have been brass, and the earth which under thee iron;

І стане небо твоє, що над твоєю головою, міддю, а земля, що під тобою, залізом.

24 J ehovah giveth the rain of thy land -- dust and ashes; from the heavens it cometh down on thee till thou art destroyed.

Дасть Господь замість дощу Краєві твоєму куряву, а порох із неба буде сходити на тебе, аж поки не будеш ти вигублений.

25 ` Jehovah giveth thee smitten before thine enemies; in one way thou goest out unto them, and in seven ways dost flee before them, and thou hast been for a trembling to all kingdoms of the earth;

Віддасть тебе Господь на поразку твоїм ворогам. Однією дорогою ти вийдеш навперейми його, а сімома дорогами втікатимеш перед ним, і будеш розпорошений по всіх царствах землі.

26 a nd thy carcase hath been for food to every fowl of the heavens, and to the beast of the earth, and there is none causing trembling.

І буде твій труп на їжу для всякого птаства небесного та для худоби земної, і не буде нікого, хто б їх пополошив.

27 ` Jehovah doth smite thee with the ulcer of Egypt, and with emerods, and with scurvy, and with itch, of which thou art not able to be healed.

Ударить тебе Господь єгипетським гнояком, ґудзами, лишаями, струпами такими, що не зможеш їх вилікувати.

28 ` Jehovah doth smite thee with madness, and with blindness, and with astonishment of heart;

Ударить тебе Господь божевіллям, і сліпотою, і туподумством.

29 a nd thou hast been gropling at noon, as the blind gropeth in darkness; and thou dost not cause thy ways to prosper; and thou hast been only oppressed and plundered all the days, and there is no saviour.

І будеш ти мацати в південь, як мацає сліпий у темряві, і не матимеш поводження в дорогах своїх, і будеш ти по всі дні тільки утискуваний та грабований, та не буде кому боронити.

30 ` A woman thou dost betroth, and another man doth lie with her; a house thou dost build, and dost not dwell in it; a vineyard thou dost plant, and dost not make it common;

Одружишся з жінкою, та хто інший лежатиме з нею. Хату збудуєш, та в ній не сидітимеш. Засадиш виноградника, та не будеш користатися ним.

31 t hine ox slaughtered before thine eyes, and thou dost not eat of it; thine ass taken violently away from before thee, and it is not given back to thee; thy sheep given to thine enemies, and there is no saviour for thee.

Заколений буде віл твій на очах твоїх, та їсти не будеш із нього. Твій осел буде заграбований перед тобою, і не вернеться до тебе. Отара твоя віддана буде ворогам твоїм, і не буде кому боронити тебе.

32 ` Thy sons and thy daughters given to another people, and thine eyes are looking and consuming for them all the day, and thy hand is not to God!

Сини твої та дочки твої будуть віддані іншому народові, а очі твої будуть бачити й гинути за ними цілий день, а твоя рука не матиме сили.

33 T he fruit of thy ground, and all thy labour, eat up doth a people whom thou hast not known; and thou hast been only oppressed and bruised all the days;

Плід твоєї землі та ввесь труд твій поїсть народ, якого ти не знав, а ти будеш тільки утискуваний та гноблений по всі дні.

34 a nd thou hast been mad, because of the sight of thine eyes which thou dost see.

І ти збожеволієш від того, що бачитимуть очі твої.

35 ` Jehovah doth smite thee with an evil ulcer, on the knees, and on the legs (of which thou art not able to be healed), from the sole of thy foot even unto thy crown.

Ударить тебе Господь злим гнояком на колінах і на стегнах, від якого не зможеш вилікуватися, від стопи ніг твоїх і аж до черепа твого.

36 ` Jehovah doth cause thee to go, and thy king whom thou raisest up over thee, unto a nation which thou hast not known, thou and thy fathers, and thou hast served there other gods, wood and stone;

Відведе Господь тебе та царя твого, якого поставиш над собою, до народу, якого не знав ти та батьки твої, і ти будеш служити там іншим богам, дереву та каменеві.

37 a nd thou hast been for an astonishment, for a simile, and for a byword among all the peoples whither Jehovah doth lead thee.

І станеш ти страхіттям, поговором та посміховищем серед усіх народів, куди відведе тебе Господь.

38 ` Much seed thou dost take out into the field, and little thou dost gather in, for the locust doth consume it;

Багато насіння винесеш на поле, та мало збереш, бо пожере його сарана.

39 v ineyards thou dost plant, and hast laboured, and wine thou dost not drink nor gather, for the worm doth consume it;

Позасаджуєш виноградники й будеш обробляти, та не будеш пити вина й не будеш збирати, бо пожере його черва.

40 o lives are to thee in all thy border, and oil thou dost not pour out, for thine olive doth fall off.

Будуть у тебе оливки по всім краї твоїм, та оливою не будеш маститися, бо поспадає оливка твоя.

41 ` Sons and daughters thou dost beget, and they are not with thee, for they go into captivity;

Ти породиш синів і дочок, та не будуть для тебе вони, бо підуть у неволю.

42 a ll thy trees and the fruit of thy ground doth the locust possess;

Усяке твоє дерево та плід твоєї землі обсяде черва.

43 t he sojourner who in thy midst goeth up above thee very high, and thou goest down very low;

Приходько, що серед тебе, піднесеться понад тебе високо-високо, а ти зійдеш низько-низько.

44 h e doth lend thee, and thou dost not lend him; he is for head, and thou art for tail.

Він тобі позичатиме, а ти йому не позичатимеш, він стане головою, а ти станеш хвостом.

45 ` And come upon thee have all these curses, and they have pursued thee, and overtaken thee, till thou art destroyed, because thou hast not hearkened to the voice of Jehovah thy God, to keep His commands, and His statutes, which he hath commanded thee;

І прийдуть на тебе всі оці прокляття, і будуть гнати тебе, і доженуть тебе, аж поки ти будеш вигублений, бо не слухав ти голосу Господа, Бога свого, щоб виконувати заповіді Його та постанови Його, що Він наказав був тобі.

46 a nd they have been on thee for a sign and for a wonder, also on thy seed -- to the age.

І будуть вони на тобі на ознаку та на доказ, та на насінні твоєму аж навіки.

47 ` Because that thou hast not served Jehovah thy God with joy, and with gladness of heart, because of the abundance of all things --

За те, що не служив ти Господеві, Богові своєму, у радості та в добрі серця, із рясноти всього,

48 t hou hast served thine enemies, whom Jehovah sendeth against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in lack of all things; and he hath put a yoke of iron on thy neck, till He hath destroyed thee.

то будеш служити ворогові своєму, якого Господь пошле на тебе, у голоді, і в прагненні, і в наготі, і в недостатку всього, а він дасть залізне ярмо на твою шию, аж поки вигубить тебе.

49 ` Jehovah doth lift up against thee a nation, from afar, from the end of the earth, as the eagle it flieth; a nation whose tongue thou hast not heard,

Господь нанесе на тебе народ іздалека, з кінця землі, так, як летить орел, народ, що мови його ти не розумієш,

50 a nation -- fierce of countenance -- which accepteth not the face of the aged, and the young doth not favour;

народ жорстокий, що не зважатиме на старого, а для юнака не буде милостивий.

51 a nd it hath eaten the fruit of thy cattle, and the fruit of thy ground, till thou art destroyed; which leaveth not to thee corn, new wine, and oil, increase of thine oxen, and wealth of thy flock, till it hath destroyed thee.

І він буде жерти плід твоєї худоби та плід твоєї землі, аж поки вигубить тебе, і він не позоставить тобі збіжжя, ані виноградного соку, ані оливи, ані породу биків твоїх, ані котіння отари твоєї, аж поки вигубить тебе.

52 ` And it hath laid siege to thee in all thy gates, till thy walls come down, the high and the fenced ones in which thou art trusting, in all thy land; yea, it hath laid siege to thee in all thy gates, in all thy land, which Jehovah thy God hath given to thee;

І він буде облягати тебе в усіх твоїх брамах, аж поки порозвалює по всім твоїм краї твої міцні і укріплені мури, на які ти надіявся, і буде гнобити тебе в усіх твоїх брамах по всім твоїм краї, що дав тобі Господь, Бог твій.

53 a nd thou hast eaten the fruit of thy body, flesh of thy sons and thy daughters (whom Jehovah thy God hath given to thee), in the siege, and in the straitness with which thine enemies do straiten thee.

І будеш ти їсти плід утроби своєї, тіло синів своїх та дочок своїх, що дав тобі Господь, Бог твій, в облозі та в утиску, яким буде гнобити тебе твій ворог.

54 ` The man who is tender in thee, and who very delicate -- his eye is evil against his brother, and against the wife of his bosom, and against the remnant of his sons whom he leaveth,

Кожен найлагідніший серед тебе й найбільше випещений, буде око його лихе на брата свого, і на жінку лоня свого, і на решту синів своїх, що позоставить їх ворог,

55 a gainst giving to one of them of the flesh of his sons whom he eateth, because he hath nothing left to him, in the siege, and in the straitness with which thine enemy doth straiten thee in all thy gates.

щоб не дати ані одному з них тіла синів своїх, що буде він їсти, бо йому не позостанеться нічого в облозі та в утискові, яким буде утискати тебе твій ворог по всіх твоїх брамах.

56 ` The tender woman in thee, and the delicate, who hath not tried the sole of her foot to place on the ground because of delicateness and because of tenderness -- her eye is evil against the husband of her bosom, and against her son, and against her daughter,

Найлагідніша між тобою й найбільше випещена, що через пещення та ніжність не пробувала ставити на землю стопи своєї ноги, зле буде око її на мужа лоня свого, і на сина свого, і на дочку свою,

57 a nd against her seed which cometh out from between her feet, even against her sons whom she doth bear, for she doth eat them for the lacking of all things in secret, in the siege and in the straitness with which thine enemy doth straiten thee within thy gates.

і на послід, що виходить з-поміж ніг її при породі, і на дітей своїх, що породить, бо поїсть їх таємно через недостаток усього в облозі та в утиску, яким буде гнобити тебе твій ворог у брамах твоїх.

58 ` If thou dost not observe to do all the words of this law which are written in this book, to fear this honoured and fearful name -- Jehovah thy God --

Якщо ти не будеш додержувати, щоб виконувати всі слова цього Закону, написані в цій книзі, щоб боятися того славного й страшного Ймення Господа, Бога твого,

59 t hen hath Jehovah made wonderful thy strokes, and the strokes of thy seed -- great strokes, and stedfast, and evil sicknesses, and stedfast.

то Господь наведе надзвичайні порази на тебе, та порази на насіння твоє, порази великі та певні, і хвороби злі та постійні.

60 ` And He hath brought back on thee all the diseases of Egypt, of the presence of which thou hast been afraid, and they have cleaved to thee;

І наведе Він на тебе всякий єгипетський біль, якого боявся ти, а він пристане до тебе.

61 a lso every sickness and every stroke which is not written in the book of this law; Jehovah doth cause them to go up upon thee till thou art destroyed,

Також усяку хворобу та всяку поразу, що не написана в книзі цього Закону, наведе їх Господь на тебе, аж поки будеш ти вигублений.

62 a nd ye have been left with few men, instead of which ye have been as stars of the heavens for multitude, because thou hast not hearkened to the voice of Jehovah thy God.

І позостане вас мало, замість того, що були ви, щодо численности, як зорі небесні, бо ти не слухався голосу Господа, Бога свого.

63 ` And it hath been, as Jehovah hath rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you, so doth Jehovah rejoice over you to destroy you, and to lay you waste; and ye have been pulled away from off the ground whither thou art going in to possess it;

І станеться, як Господь радів був вами, коли робив вам добро, і коли розмножував вас, так буде радіти Господь вами, коли вигублятиме вас та коли винищуватиме вас, і ви будете вирвані з-над цієї землі, куди ти входиш посісти її.

64 a nd Jehovah hath scattered thee among all the peoples, from the end of the earth even unto the end of the earth; and thou hast served there other gods which thou hast not known, thou and thy fathers -- wood and stone.

І розпорошить тебе Господь серед усіх народів від кінця землі й аж до кінця землі, і ти служитимеш там іншим богам, яких не знав ані ти, ані батьки твої, дереву та каменеві.

65 ` And among those nations thou dost not rest, yea, there is no resting-place for the sole of thy foot, and Jehovah hath given to thee there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and grief of soul;

І поміж цими народами не будеш ти спокійний, і не буде місця спочинку для стопи твоїх ніг. І Господь дасть тобі там серце тремтяче, і ослаблення очей, і омлівання душі.

66 a nd thy life hath been hanging in suspense before thee, and thou hast been afraid by night and by day, and dost not believe in thy life;

І буде життя твоє висіти на волоску перед тобою і ти боятимешся вдень та вночі, і не будеш певний свого життя.

67 i n the morning thou sayest, O that it were evening! and in the evening thou sayest, O that it were morning! from the fear of thy heart, with which thou art afraid, and from the sight of thine eyes which thou seest.

Уранці ти скажеш: О, якби вечір!, а ввечері скажеш: О, якби ранок! зо страху серця свого, що будеш боятися, та з видіння очей своїх, що будеш бачити.

68 ` And Jehovah hath brought thee back to Egypt with ships, by a way of which I said to thee, Thou dost not add any more to see it, and ye have sold yourselves there to thine enemies, for men-servants and for maid-servants, and there is no buyer.'

І верне тебе Господь до Єгипту на кораблях тією дорогою, про яку я казав тобі, що вже більше не побачиш її, і там ви продаватиметеся ворогам своїм за рабів та за невільниць, та не буде покупця...
