1 A nd in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam son of Nebat, reigned hath Abijam over Judah;

А вісімнадцятого року царя Єровоама, Неватового сина, над Юдою зацарював Авійям.

2 t hree years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother Maachah daughter of Abishalom;

Три роки царював він в Єрусалимі. А ім'я його матері Мааха, Авесаломова дочка.

3 a nd he walketh in all the sins of his father, that he did before him, and his heart hath not been perfect with Jehovah his God, as the heart of David his father;

І він ходив в усіх гріхах свого батька, які той робив перед ним, і серце його не було все з Господом, Богом своїм, як серце його батька Давида.

4 b ut for David's sake hath Jehovah his God given to him a lamp in Jerusalem, to raise up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem,

Бо Господь, Бог його, ради Давида дав йому світильника в Єрусалимі, щоб поставити сина його по ньому та укріпити Єрусалим.

5 i n that David did that which right in the eyes of Jehovah, and turned not aside from all that He commanded him all days of his life -- only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite;

Бо Давид робив добре в Господніх очах, і не відступав від усього що Він наказав був йому, по всі дні життя свого, окрім справи хіттянина Урії.

6 a nd war hath been between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life.

А війна між Рехав'амом та між Єровоамом точилася по всі дні життя його.

7 A nd the rest of the matters of Abijam, and all that he did, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Judah? And war hath been between Abijam and Jeroboam;

А решта Авійямових діл та все, що він зробив, ось вони написані в Книзі Хроніки Юдиних царів. І війна точилася між Авійямом та між Єровоамом.

8 a nd Abijam lieth with his fathers, and they bury him in the city of David, and reign doth Asa his son in his stead.

І спочив Авійям зо своїми батьками, і поховали його в Давидовому Місті, а замість нього зацарював син його Аса.

9 A nd in the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel reigned hath Asa over Judah,

А року двадцятого Єровоама, Ізраїлевого царя, зацарював Аса, цар Юдин.

10 a nd forty and one years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother Maachah daughter of Abishalom.

І він царював в Єрусалимі сорок і один рік. А ім'я його матері Мааха, Авесаломова дочка.

11 A nd Asa doth that which right in the eyes of Jehovah, like David his father,

І робив Аса добре в Господніх очах, як батько його Давид.

12 a nd removeth the whoremongers out of the land, and turneth aside all the idols that his fathers made;

І вигнав він блудодіїв із краю, і повикидав усіх божків, яких поробили були їхні батьки.

13 a nd also Maachah his mother -- he turneth her aside from being mistress, in that she made a horrible thing for a shrine, and Asa cutteth down her horrible thing, and burneth by the brook Kidron;

І навіть матір свою Мааху, і її він позбавив права бути царицею, бо вона зробила була ідола для Астарти. І Аса порубав ідола її, та й спалив у долині Кедрон.

14 a nd the high places have not turned aside; only, the heart of Asa hath been perfect with Jehovah all his days,

А пагірки не минулися; тільки Асине серце було все з Господом по всі його дні.

15 a nd he bringeth in the sanctified things of his father, and his own sanctified things, to the house of Jehovah, silver, and gold, and vessels.

І вніс він до Господнього дому присвячені речі свого батька та присвячені речі свої, срібло, і золото, і посуд.

16 A nd war hath been between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days,

А війна точилася між Асою та між Башою по всі їхні дні.

17 a nd Baasha king of Israel goeth up against Judah, and buildeth Ramah, not to permit any one going out and coming in to Asa king of Judah.

І пішов Баша, цар Ізраїлів, на Юду, і будував Раму, щоб не дати нікому від Аси, царя Юдиного, виходити та входити.

18 A nd Asa taketh all the silver and the gold that are left in the treasures of the house of Jehovah, and the treasures of the house of the king, and giveth them into the hand of his servants, and king Asa sendeth them unto Ben-Hadad, son of Tabrimmon, son of Hezion king of Aram, who is dwelling in Damascus, saying,

І взяв Аса все срібло та золото, позостале в скарбницях храму Господнього та дому царевого, та й дав його до руки своїх слуг. І послав їх цар Аса до Бен-Гадада, сина Тавримонна, сина Хезйонового, сирійського царя, що сидів у Дамаску, говорячи:

19 ` A covenant between me and thee, between my father and thy father; lo, I have sent to thee a reward of silver and gold; go, break thy covenant with Baasha king of Israel, and he goeth up from off me.'

Є умова між мною та між тобою, між батьком моїм та між батьком твоїм. Ось послав я тобі дара, срібла та золота, іди, зламай умову свою з Башею, царем Ізраїлевим, і нехай він відійде від мене.

20 A nd Ben-Hadad hearkeneth unto king Asa, and sendeth the heads of the forces that he hath against cities of Israel, and smiteth Ijon, and Dan, and Abel-Beth-Maachah, and all Chinneroth, besides all the land of Naphtali;

І послухався Бен-Гаддад царя Аси, і послав провідників свойого війська на Ізраїлеві міста, та й побив Іййона, і Дана, і Авела, Бат-Мааху, і всього Кінерота та всю землю Нефталимову.

21 a nd it cometh to pass at Baasha's hearing, that he ceaseth from building Ramah, and dwelleth in Tirzah.

І сталося, як Баша це почув, то перестав будувати Раму, й осівся в Тірці.

22 A nd king Asa hath summoned all Judah -- there is none exempt -- and they lift up the stones of Ramah, and its wood, that Baasha hath built, and king Asa buildeth with them Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.

А цар Аса закликав до послуху всього Юду, нікого не виключаючи, і вони повиносили каміння Рами та її дерево, що з них будував був Баша. І цар Аса збудував з того Веніяминову Ґеву.

23 A nd the rest of all the matters of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities that he built, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Judah? Only, at the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet;

А решта діл Аси та вся лицарськість його, і все, що він зробив був, і міста, які побудував, ось вони написані в Книзі Хроніки Юдиних царів; тільки на час старости своєї він заслаб був на свої ноги.

24 a nd Asa lieth with his fathers, and is buried with his fathers in the city of David his father, and Jehoshaphat his son reigneth in his stead.

І спочив Аса з батьками своїми, і був похований з батьками своїми в Місті Давида, свого батька. А замість нього зацарював його син Йосафат.

25 A nd Nadab son of Jeroboam hath reigned over Israel, in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and he reigneth over Israel two years,

А над Ізраїлем зацарював Надав, Єровоамів син, у другому році Аси, царя Юдиного, та й царював над Ізраїлем два роки.

26 a nd doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, and goeth in the way of his father, and in his sin that he made Israel to sin.

І робив він зле в Господніх очах, і ходив дорогою батька свого та в гріху його, що вводив теж у гріх Ізраїля.

27 A nd conspire against him doth Baasha son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, and Baasha smiteth him in Gibbethon, which to the Philistines -- and Nadab and all Israel are laying siege against Gibbethon --

І змовився на нього Баша, син Ахійї, з Іссахарового дому, та й побив його Баша в Ґіббетоні филистимському. А Надав та ввесь Ізраїль облягали Ґіббетон.

28 y ea, Baasha putteth him to death in the third year of Asa king of Judah, and reigneth in his stead.

І вбив його Баша в третьому році Аси, царя Юдиного, та й зацарював замість нього.

29 A nd it cometh to pass, at his reigning, he hath smitten the whole house of Jeroboam, he hath not left any breathing to Jeroboam till his destroying him, according to the word of Jehovah, that He spake by the hand of His servant Ahijah the Shilonite,

І сталося, як зацарював він, то побив увесь Єровоамів дім, не позоставив Єровоамові жодної душі, аж поки не вигубив його, за словом Господа, що говорив через Свого раба шілонянина Ахійю,

30 b ecause of the sins of Jeroboam that he sinned, and that he caused Israel to sin, by his provocation with which he provoked to anger Jehovah, God of Israel.

за гріх Єровоама, що грішив сам і що вводив у гріх Ізраїля, через свій гнів, яким гнівив Господа, Бога Ізраїлевого.

31 A nd the rest of the matters of Nadab, and all that he did, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel?

А решта діл Надава та все, що він був зробив, ось вони написані в Книзі Хроніки Ізраїлевих царів.

32 A nd war hath been between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.

А війна точилася між Асою та між Башею, Ізраїлевим царем, по всі дні їх.

33 I n the third year of Asa king of Judah reigned hath Baasha son of Ahijah over all Israel in Tirzah, twenty and four years,

Третього року Аси, царя Юдиного, зацарював Баша, син Ахійїн, над усім Ізраїлем у Тірці, на двадцять і чотири роки.

34 a nd he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, and walketh in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin that he caused Israel to sin.

І робив він зло в Господніх очах, і ходив дорогою Єровоама та в гріху його, що вводив у гріх Ізраїля.
