1 A nd Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

І говорив Господь до Мойсея, кажучи:

2 ` Speak unto the sons of Israel, and they turn back and encamp before Pi-Hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, before Baal-Zephon; over-against it ye do encamp by the sea,

Скажи Ізраїлевим синам, і нехай вони повернуть, і нехай отаборяться перед Пі-Гахіротом, між Міґдолом і між морем, перед Баал-Цефоном. Навпроти нього отаборитесь над морем.

3 a nd Pharaoh hath said of the sons of Israel, They are entangled in the land, the wilderness hath shut upon them;

І скаже фараон про Ізраїлевих синів: заблудились вони в землі цій, замкнено пустиню для них.

4 a nd I have strengthened the heart of Pharaoh, and he hath pursued after them, and I am honoured on Pharaoh, and on all his force, and the Egyptians have known that I Jehovah;' and they do so.

І вчиню запеклим фараонове серце, і він буде гнатися за вами, а Я прославлюся через фараона та через військо його. І пізнають єгиптяни, що Я Господь! І вони вчинили так.

5 A nd it is declared to the king of Egypt that the people hath fled, and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants is turned against the people, and they say, `What this we have done? that we have sent Israel away from our service.'

І повідомлено царя єгипетського, що втік той народ. І змінилося серце фараона та рабів його до того народу, і сказали вони: Що це ми зробили, що відпустили Ізраїля від роботи нам?

6 A nd he harnesseth his chariot, and his people he hath taken with him,

І запріг він свою колесницю, і забрав народ свій з собою.

7 a nd he taketh six hundred chosen chariots, even all the chariots of Egypt, and captains over them all;

І взяв він шість сотень добірних колесниць, і всі колесниці Єгипту, і трійкових над усіма ними.

8 a nd Jehovah strengtheneth the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursueth after the sons of Israel, and the sons of Israel are going out with a high hand,

І Господь учинив запеклим серце фараона, єгипетського царя, і він погнався за Ізраїлевими синами. Але Ізраїлеві сини виходили сильною рукою!

9 a nd the Egyptians pursue after them, and all the chariot horses of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his force, overtake them, encamping by the sea, by Pi-Hahiroth, before Baal-Zephon.

І гналися єгиптяни за ними, уся кіннота, колесниці фараонові, і комонники його та військо його, і догнали їх, як вони отаборилися були над морем, під Пі-Гахіротом, перед Баал-Цефоном.

10 A nd Pharaoh hath drawn near, and the sons of Israel lift up their eyes, and lo, the Egyptians are journeying after them, and they fear exceedingly, and the sons of Israel cry unto Jehovah.

А фараон наближався. І звели Ізраїлеві сини свої очі, аж ось єгиптяни женуться за ними! І дуже злякались вони... І кликали Ізраїлеві сини до Господа,

11 A nd they say unto Moses, `Because there are no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in a wilderness? what is this thou hast done to us -- to bring us out from Egypt?

а Мойсеєві дорікали: Чи через те, що не було гробів в Єгипті, ти забрав нас умирати в пустині? Що це вчинив ти нам, щоб вивести нас із Єгипту?

12 I s not this the word which we spake unto thee in Egypt, saying, Cease from us, and we serve the Egyptians; for better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in a wilderness?'

Чи це не те саме ми говорили до тебе в Єгипті, кажучи: Позостав нас, і нехай ми робимо Єгиптові! Бо ліпше нам рабство Єгиптові, аніж помирати нам у пустині!

13 A nd Moses saith unto the people, `Fear not, station yourselves, and see the salvation of Jehovah, which He doth for you to-day; for, as ye have seen the Egyptians to-day, ye add no more to see them -- to the age;

І сказав Мойсей до народу: Не бійтеся! Стійте, і побачите спасіння Господа, що вчинить вам сьогодні. Бо єгиптян, яких бачите сьогодні, більше не побачите їх уже повіки!

14 J ehovah doth fight for you, and ye keep silent.'

Господь буде воювати за вас, а ви мовчіть!

15 A nd Jehovah saith unto Moses, `What? thou criest unto Me -- speak unto the sons of Israel, and they journey;

І промовив Господь до Мойсея: Що ти до Мене кличеш? Говори до синів Ізраїлевих, нехай рушають!

16 a nd thou, lift up thy rod, and stretch out thy hand towards the sea, and cleave it, and the sons of Israel go into the midst of the sea on dry land.

А ти підійми свою палицю, і простягни руку свою на море, і розітни його, і нехай увійдуть Ізраїлеві сини в середину моря, на суходіл.

17 ` And I -- lo, I am strengthening the heart of the Egyptians, and they go in after them, and I am honoured on Pharaoh, and on all his force, on his chariots, and on his horsemen;

А Я, ось Я вчиню запеклим серце єгиптянам, і вони ввійдуть за ними. І буду Я прославлений через фараона, і через усе його військо, і через колесниці, його, і через комонників його.

18 a nd the Egyptians have known that I Jehovah, in My being honoured on Pharaoh, on his chariots, and on his horsemen.'

І пізнають єгиптяни, що Я Господь, коли буду Я прославлений через фараона, і через колесниці його, і через комонників його!

19 A nd the messenger of God, who is going before the camp of Israel, journeyeth and goeth at their rear; and the pillar of the cloud journeyeth from their front, and standeth at their rear,

І рушив Ангол Божий, що йшов перед Ізраїльським табором, і пішов за ними; і рушив стовп хмари перед ними, і став за ними,

20 a nd cometh in between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel, and the cloud and the darkness are, and he enlighteneth the night, and the one hath not drawn near unto the other all the night.

і ввійшов він у середину між табір Єгипту й між табір Ізраїлів. І була та хмара і темрява для Єгипту, а ніч розсвітлив він для Ізраїля. І не зближався один до одного цілу ніч.

21 A nd Moses stretcheth out his hand towards the sea, and Jehovah causeth the sea to go on by a strong east wind all the night, and maketh the sea become dry ground, and the waters are cleaved,

І простяг Мойсей руку свою на море, і Господь гнав море сильним східнім вітром цілу ніч, і зробив море суходолом, і розступилася вода.

22 a nd the sons of Israel go into the midst of the sea, on dry land, and the waters to them a wall, on their right and on their left.

І ввійшли Ізраїлеві сини в середину моря, як на суходіл, а море було для них муром із правиці їхньої та з лівиці їхньої.

23 A nd the Egyptians pursue, and go in after them (all the horses of Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen) unto the midst of the sea,

А єгиптяни гналися, і ввійшли за ними всі фараонові коні й колесниці його, та його комонники до середини моря.

24 a nd it cometh to pass, in the morning watch, that Jehovah looketh unto the camp of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the cloud, and troubleth the camp of the Egyptians,

І сталося за ранньої сторожі, і поглянув Господь на єгипетський табір у стовпі огня й хмари, та й привів у замішання єгипетський табір.

25 a nd turneth aside the wheels of their chariots, and they lead them with difficulty, and the Egyptians say, `Let us flee from the face of Israel, for Jehovah is fighting for them against the Egyptians.'

І поскидав колеса з колесниць його, і вчинив, що йому було тяжко ходити. І єгиптяни сказали: Утікаймо від ізраїльтян, бо Господь воює за них з Єгиптом!

26 A nd Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Stretch out thy hand toward the sea, and the waters turn back on the Egyptians, on their chariots, and on their horsemen.'

І промовив Господь до Мойсея: Простягни свою руку на море, і нехай вернеться вода на єгиптян, на їхні колесниці й на комонників їхніх.

27 A nd Moses stretcheth out his hand towards the sea, and the sea turneth back, at the turning of the morning, to its perennial flow, and the Egyptians are fleeing at its coming, and Jehovah shaketh off the Egyptians in the midst of the sea,

І простяг Мойсей руку свою на море, і море вернулося, коли настав ранок, до сили своєї, а єгиптяни втікали навпроти нього. І кинув Господь єгиптян у середину моря!

28 a nd the waters turn back, and cover the chariots and the horsemen, even all the force of Pharaoh, who are coming in after them into the sea -- there hath not been left of them even one.

І вернулась вода, і позакривала колесниці та комонників усьому фараоновому військові, що ввійшло за ними в море. Ані жоден із них не зостався!

29 A nd the sons of Israel have gone on dry land in the midst of the sea, and the waters to them a wall, on their right and on their left;

А Ізраїлеві сини йшли суходолом у середині моря, а море було для них муром із правиці їхньої та з лівиці їхньої.

30 a nd Jehovah saveth Israel in that day out of the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel seeth the Egyptians dead on the sea-shore,

І визволив Господь того дня Ізраїля з єгипетської руки. І бачив Ізраїль мертвих єгиптян на березі моря.

31 a nd Israel seeth the great hand with which Jehovah hath wrought against the Egyptians, and the people fear Jehovah, and remain stedfast in Jehovah, and in Moses His servant.

І побачив Ізраїль сильну руку, яку виявив Господь у Єгипті, і став боятися той народ Господа! І ввірував він у Господа, та в Мойсея, раба Його.
