1 A nd the messenger who is speaking with me doth turn back, and stir me up as one who is stirred up out of his sleep,

L’angelo che parlava con me tornò e mi svegliò, come si sveglia un uomo dal sonno.

2 a nd he saith unto me, `What art thou seeing?' And I say, `I have looked, and lo, a candlestick of gold -- all of it, and its bowl on its top, and its seven lamps upon it, and twice seven pipes to the lights that on its top,

Mi chiese: «Che vedi?» Io risposi: «Ecco, vedo un candelabro tutto d’oro, che ha in cima un vaso, ed è munito delle sue sette lampade e di sette tubi per le lampade che stanno in cima;

3 a nd two olive-trees by it, one on the right of the bowl, and one on its left.'

vicino al candelabro stanno due ulivi: l’uno a destra del vaso e l’altro alla sua sinistra».

4 A nd I answer and speak unto the messenger who is speaking with me, saying, `What these, my lord?'

Io ripresi a dire all’angelo che parlava con me: «Che significano queste cose, mio signore?»

5 A nd the messenger who is speaking with me answereth and saith unto me, `Hast thou not known what these ?' And I say, `No, my lord.'

L’angelo che parlava con me mi rispose: «Non sai che cosa significano queste cose?» Io dissi: «No, mio signore».

6 A nd he answereth and speaketh unto me, saying: `This a word of Jehovah unto Zerubbabel, saying: Not by a force, nor by power, But -- by My Spirit, said Jehovah of Hosts.

Allora egli mi rispose: «Questa è la parola che il Signore rivolge a Zorobabele: “Non per potenza, né per forza, ma per lo Spirito mio”, dice il Signore degli eserciti.

7 W ho thou, O great mountain Before Zerubbabel -- for a plain! And he hath brought forth the top-stone, Cries of Grace, grace -- to it.'

Chi sei tu, o grande montagna? Davanti a Zorobabele tu diventerai pianura; egli asporterà la pietra principale, in mezzo alle grida di: “Grazia, grazia su di lei!”».

8 A nd there is a word of Jehovah to me, saying,

La parola del Signore mi fu rivolta in questi termini:

9 H ands of Zerubbabel did found this house, And his hands do finish it, And thou hast known that Jehovah of Hosts Hath sent me unto you.

«Le mani di Zorobabele hanno gettato le fondamenta di questa casa e le sue mani la termineranno; così tu saprai che il Signore degli eserciti mi ha mandato da voi.

10 F or who trampled on the day of small things, They have rejoiced, And seen the tin weight in the hand of Zerubbabel, These seven the eyes of Jehovah, They are going to and fro in all the land.'

Chi potrebbe infatti disprezzare il giorno delle piccole cose, quando quei sette là, gli occhi del Signore che percorrono tutta la terra, vedono con gioia il piombino in mano a Zorobabele?»

11 A nd I answer and say unto him, `What these two olive-trees, on the right of the candlestick, and on its left?'

Io gli dissi: «Che significano questi due ulivi a destra e a sinistra del candelabro?»

12 A nd I answer a second time, and say unto him, `What the two branches of the olive trees that, by means of the two golden pipes, are emptying out of themselves the oil?'

Per la seconda volta io presi a dire: «Che significano questi due ramoscelli d’ulivo che stanno ai lati dei due condotti d’oro per cui scorre l’olio dorato ?»

13 A nd he speaketh unto me, saying, `Hast thou not known what these ?' And I say, `No, my lord.'

Egli mi disse: «Non sai che cosa significano queste cose?» Io risposi: «No, mio signore!»

14 A nd he saith, `These the two sons of the oil, who are standing by the Lord of the whole earth.'

Allora egli disse: «Questi sono i due unti che stanno presso il Signore di tutta la terra».
