1 A nd I look, and lo, on the expanse that above the head of the cherubs, as a sapphire stone, as the appearance of the likeness of a throne, He hath been seen over them.

Io guardai, ed ecco, sulla distesa sopra il capo dei cherubini, c’era come una pietra di zaffiro; si vedeva come una specie di trono che stava sopra di loro.

2 A nd He speaketh unto the man clothed with linen, and saith, `Go in unto the midst of the wheel, unto the place of the cherub, and fill thy hands with coals of fire from between the cherubs, and scatter over the city.' And he goeth in before mine eyes.

Il Signore parlò all’uomo vestito di lino e disse: «Va’ fra le ruote sotto i cherubini, rièmpiti le mani di carboni ardenti, tolti in mezzo ai cherubini, e spargili sulla città». Ed egli vi andò in mia presenza.

3 A nd the cherubs are standing on the right side of the house, at the going in of the man, and the cloud hath filled the inner court,

I cherubini stavano al lato destro della casa, quando l’uomo entrò là; la nuvola riempì il cortile interno.

4 a nd become high doth the honour of Jehovah above the cherub, over the threshold of the house, and the house is filled with the cloud, and the court hath been filled with the brightness of the honour of Jehovah.

La gloria del Signore si alzò sopra i cherubini, muovendosi verso la soglia della casa; la casa fu riempita della nuvola e il cortile fu ricolmo dello splendore della gloria del Signore.

5 A nd a noise of the wings of the cherubs hath been heard unto the outer court, as the voice of God -- the Mighty One -- in His speaking.

Il rumore delle ali dei cherubini si udì fino al cortile esterno, simile alla voce del Dio onnipotente quand’egli parla.

6 A nd it cometh to pass, in His commanding the man clothed with linen, saying, `Take fire from between the wheel, from between the cherubs,' and he goeth in and standeth near the wheel,

Quando il Signore ebbe dato all’uomo vestito di lino l’ordine di prendere del fuoco in mezzo alle ruote che sono tra i cherubini, quegli venne a fermarsi presso una delle ruote.

7 t hat the cherub putteth forth his hand from between the cherubs unto the fire that between the cherubs, and lifteth up, and giveth into the hands of him who is clothed with linen, and he receiveth, and cometh forth.

Uno dei cherubini stese la mano fra gli altri cherubini verso il fuoco che era in mezzo ai cherubini, ne prese e lo mise nelle mani dell’uomo vestito di lino, che lo ricevette e uscì.

8 A nd there appeareth in the cherubs the form of a hand of man under their wings,

Vidi che i cherubini avevano una forma di mano d’uomo sotto le ali.

9 a nd I look, and lo, four wheels near the cherubs, one wheel near the one cherub, and another wheel near the other cherub, and the appearance of the wheels as the colour of a beryl stone.

Io guardai, ed ecco quattro ruote presso i cherubini, una ruota presso ogni cherubino; le ruote avevano il bagliore di una pietra di crisolito.

10 A s to their appearances, one likeness to them four, as it were the wheel in the midst of the wheel.

A vederle, tutte e quattro avevano una medesima forma, come se una ruota fosse in mezzo all’altra.

11 I n their going, on their four sides they go; they turn not round in their going, for to the place whither the head turneth, after it they go, they turn not round in their going.

Quando si muovevano, si muovevano dai loro quattro lati; muovendosi non si voltavano, ma seguivano la direzione dal luogo verso il quale guardava il capo e, andando, non si voltavano.

12 A nd all their flesh, and their backs, and their hands, and their wings, and the wheels, are full of eyes round about; to them four their wheels.

Tutto il corpo dei cherubini, i loro dorsi, le loro mani, le loro ali, come pure le ruote, le ruote di tutti e quattro, erano pieni d’occhi tutto attorno.

13 T o the wheels -- to them is one calling in mine ears, `O wheel!'

Udii che le ruote erano chiamate Turbine.

14 A nd four faces to each; the face of the one the face of the cherub, and the face of the second the face of man, and of the third the face of a lion, and of the fourth the face of an eagle.

Ogni cherubino aveva quattro facce: la prima faccia era una faccia di cherubino; la seconda faccia, una faccia d’uomo; la terza, una faccia di leone; la quarta, una faccia d’aquila.

15 A nd the cherubs are lifted up, it the living creature that I saw by the river Chebar.

I cherubini si alzarono. Erano gli stessi esseri viventi che avevo visti presso il fiume Chebar.

16 A nd in the going of the cherubs, the wheels go beside them; and in the cherubs lifting up their wings to be high above the earth, the wheels turn not round, even they, from being beside them.

Quando i cherubini si muovevano, anche le ruote si muovevano accanto a loro; e quando i cherubini spiegavano le ali per alzarsi da terra, anche le ruote non deviavano dal loro lato.

17 I n their standing they stand, and in their exaltation they are exalted with them: for the living spirit in them.

Quando quelli si fermavano, anche queste si fermavano; quando quelli s’innalzavano, anche queste s’innalzavano con loro, perché lo spirito degli esseri viventi era in esse.

18 A nd go forth doth the honour of Jehovah from off the threshold of the house, and standeth over the cherubs,

La gloria del Signore partì dalla soglia della casa e si fermò sui cherubini.

19 a nd the cherubs lift up their wings, and are lifted up from the earth before mine eyes; in their going forth, the wheels also over-against them, and he standeth at the opening of the east gate of the house of Jehovah, and the honour of the God of Israel over them from above.

I cherubini spiegarono le loro ali e s’innalzarono su dalla terra; io li vidi partire, con le ruote accanto a loro. Si fermarono all’ingresso della porta orientale della casa del Signore, e la gloria del Dio d’Israele stava sopra di loro, su in alto.

20 I t the living creature that I saw under the God of Israel by the river Chebar, and I know that they are cherubs.

Erano gli stessi esseri viventi che avevo visti sotto il Dio d’Israele presso il fiume Chebar; riconobbi che erano cherubini.

21 F our faces to each, and four wings to each, and the likeness of the hands of man under their wings.

Ognuno di essi aveva quattro facce, ognuno quattro ali; sotto le loro ali appariva la forma di mani d’uomo.

22 A s to the likeness of their faces, they the faces that I saw by the river Chebar, their appearances and themselves; each straight forward they go.

Quanto all’aspetto delle loro facce, erano le facce che avevo viste presso il fiume Chebar; erano le stesse sembianze, i medesimi cherubini. Ognuno andava diritto davanti a sé.
