1 A nd Saul, yet breathing of threatening and slaughter to the disciples of the Lord, having gone to the chief priest,

Saulo, sempre spirante minacce e stragi contro i discepoli del Signore, si presentò al sommo sacerdote

2 d id ask from him letters to Damascus, unto the synagogues, that if he may find any being of the way, both men and women, he may bring them bound to Jerusalem.

e gli chiese delle lettere per le sinagoghe di Damasco affinché, se avesse trovato dei seguaci della Via, uomini e donne, li potesse condurre legati a Gerusalemme.

3 A nd in the going, he came nigh to Damascus, and suddenly there shone round about him a light from the heaven,

E durante il viaggio, mentre si avvicinava a Damasco, avvenne che, d’improvviso, sfolgorò intorno a lui una luce dal cielo

4 a nd having fallen upon the earth, he heard a voice saying to him, `Saul, Saul, why me dost thou persecute?'

e, caduto in terra, udì una voce che gli diceva: «Saulo, Saulo, perché mi perseguiti?»

5 A nd he said, `Who art thou, Lord?' and the Lord said, `I am Jesus whom thou dost persecute; hard for thee at the pricks to kick;'

Egli domandò: «Chi sei, Signore?» E il Signore: «Io sono Gesù, che tu perseguiti. [Ti è duro recalcitrare contro il pungolo».

6 t rembling also, and astonished, he said, `Lord, what dost thou wish me to do?' and the Lord unto him, `Arise, and enter into the city, and it shall be told thee what it behoveth thee to do.'

Egli, tutto tremante e spaventato, disse: «Signore, che vuoi che io faccia?» Il Signore gli disse:] «Àlzati, entra nella città e ti sarà detto ciò che devi fare».

7 A nd the men who are journeying with him stood speechless, hearing indeed the voice but seeing no one,

Gli uomini che facevano il viaggio con lui rimasero fermi, senza parole, perché udivano la voce ma non vedevano nessuno.

8 a nd Saul arose from the earth, and his eyes having been opened, he beheld no one, and leading him by the hand they brought him to Damascus,

Saulo si alzò da terra ma, aperti gli occhi, non vedeva nulla; e quelli, conducendolo per mano, lo portarono a Damasco,

9 a nd he was three days without seeing, and he did neither eat nor drink.

dove rimase tre giorni senza vedere e senza prendere né cibo né bevanda.

10 A nd there was a certain disciple in Damascus, by name Ananias, and the Lord said unto him in a vision, `Ananias;' and he said, `Behold me, Lord;'

Or a Damasco c’era un discepolo di nome Anania; e il Signore gli disse in visione: «Anania!» Egli rispose: «Eccomi, Signore».

11 a nd the Lord unto him, `Having risen, go on unto the street that is called Straight, and seek in the house of Judas, by name Saul of Tarsus, for, lo, he doth pray,

E il Signore a lui: «Àlzati, va’ nella strada chiamata “Diritta” e cerca in casa di Giuda uno di Tarso chiamato Saulo; poiché ecco, egli è in preghiera

12 a nd he saw in a vision a man, by name Ananias, coming in, and putting a hand on him, that he may see again.'

e ha visto {in visione} un uomo chiamato Anania entrare e imporgli le mani perché recuperi la vista».

13 A nd Ananias answered, `Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how many evils he did to Thy saints in Jerusalem,

Ma Anania rispose: «Signore, ho sentito dire da molti, riguardo a quest’uomo, quanto male abbia fatto ai tuoi santi in Gerusalemme.

14 a nd here he hath authority from the chief priests, to bind all those calling on Thy name.'

E qui ha ricevuto autorità dai capi dei sacerdoti per incatenare tutti coloro che invocano il tuo nome».

15 A nd the Lord said unto him, `Be going on, because a choice vessel to Me is this one, to bear My name before nations and kings -- the sons also of Israel;

Ma il Signore gli disse: «Va’, perché egli è uno strumento che ho scelto per portare il mio nome davanti ai popoli, ai re e ai figli d’Israele;

16 f or I will shew him how many things it behoveth him for My name to suffer.'

perché io gli mostrerò quanto debba soffrire per il mio nome».

17 A nd Ananias went away, and did enter into the house, and having put upon him hands, said, `Saul, brother, the Lord hath sent me -- Jesus who did appear to thee in the way in which thou wast coming -- that thou mayest see again, and mayest be filled with the Holy Spirit.'

Allora Anania andò, entrò in quella casa, gli impose le mani e disse: «Fratello Saulo, il Signore, quel Gesù che ti è apparso sulla strada per la quale venivi, mi ha mandato perché tu riacquisti la vista e sia riempito di Spirito Santo».

18 A nd immediately there fell from his eyes as it were scales, he saw again also presently, and having risen, was baptized,

In quell’istante gli caddero dagli occhi come delle squame e recuperò la vista; poi, alzatosi, fu battezzato.

19 a nd having received nourishment, was strengthened, and Saul was with the disciples in Damascus certain days,

E, dopo aver preso cibo, gli ritornarono le forze. rimase alcuni giorni insieme ai discepoli che erano a Damasco

20 a nd immediately in the synagogues he was preaching the Christ, that he is the Son of God.

e si mise subito a predicare Gesù nelle sinagoghe, affermando che egli è il Figlio di Dio.

21 A nd all those hearing were amazed, and said, `Is not this he who laid waist in Jerusalem those calling on this name, and hither to this intent had come, that he might bring them bound to the chief priests?'

Tutti quelli che lo ascoltavano si meravigliavano e dicevano: «Ma costui non è quel tale che a Gerusalemme infieriva contro quelli che invocano questo nome ed era venuto qua con lo scopo di condurli incatenati ai capi dei sacerdoti?»

22 A nd Saul was still more strengthened, and he was confounding the Jews dwelling in Damascus, proving that this is the Christ.

Ma Saulo si fortificava sempre di più e confondeva i Giudei residenti a Damasco, dimostrando che Gesù è il Cristo. Saulo a Gerusalemme e a Tarso; il persecutore perseguitato

23 A nd when many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel together to kill him,

Parecchi giorni dopo, i Giudei deliberarono di ucciderlo;

24 a nd their counsel against was known to Saul; they were also watching the gates both day and night, that they may kill him,

25 a nd the disciples having taken him, by night did let him down by the wall, letting down in a basket.

26 A nd Saul, having come to Jerusalem, did try to join himself to the disciples, and they were all afraid of him, not believing that he is a disciple,

27 a nd Barnabas having taken him, brought unto the apostles, and did declare to them how in the way he saw the Lord, and that he spake to him, and how in Damascus he was speaking boldly in the name of Jesus.

Allora Barnaba lo prese con sé, lo condusse dagli apostoli e raccontò loro come durante il viaggio aveva visto il Signore che gli aveva parlato, e come a Damasco aveva predicato con coraggio nel nome di Gesù.

28 A nd he was with them, coming in and going out in Jerusalem,

Da allora Saulo andava e veniva con loro in Gerusalemme, e predicava con franchezza nel nome del Signore;

29 a nd speaking boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus, he was both speaking and disputing with the Hellenists, and they were taking in hand to kill him,

discorreva pure e discuteva con gli Ellenisti; ma questi cercavano di ucciderlo.

30 a nd the brethren having known, brought him down to Cesarea, and sent him forth to Tarsus.

I fratelli, saputolo, lo condussero a Cesarea e di là lo mandarono a Tarso.

31 T hen, indeed, the assemblies throughout all Judea, and Galilee, and Samaria, had peace, being built up, and, going on in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied.

Così la chiesa, per tutta la Giudea, la Galilea e la Samaria, aveva pace ed era edificata; e, camminando nel timore del Signore e nella consolazione dello Spirito Santo, cresceva costantemente di numero. Enea, il paralitico guarito da Pietro

32 A nd it came to pass that Peter passing throughout all, came down also unto the saints who were dwelling at Lydda,

Avvenne che mentre Pietro andava a far visita a tutti, si recò anche dai santi residenti a Lidda.

33 a nd he found there a certain man, Aeneas by name -- for eight years laid upon a couch -- who was paralytic,

Là trovò un uomo di nome Enea, che da otto anni giaceva paralitico in un letto.

34 a nd Peter said to him, `Aeneas, heal thee doth Jesus the Christ; arise and spread for thyself;' and immediately he rose,

Pietro gli disse: «Enea, Gesù Cristo ti guarisce; àlzati e rifatti il letto». Egli subito si alzò.

35 a nd all those dwelling at Lydda, and Saron saw him, and did turn to the Lord.

E tutti gli abitanti di Lidda e di Saron lo videro e si convertirono al Signore. Tabita risuscitata da Pietro

36 A nd in Joppa there was a certain female disciple, by name Tabitha, (which interpreted, is called Dorcas,) this woman was full of good works and kind acts that she was doing;

A Ioppe c’era una discepola, di nome Tabita, che tradotto vuol dire: «Gazzella»; ella faceva molte opere buone ed elemosine.

37 a nd it came to pass in those days she, having ailed, died, and having bathed her, they laid her in an upper chamber,

Proprio in quei giorni si ammalò e morì. E, dopo averla lavata, la deposero in una stanza di sopra.

38 a nd Lydda being nigh to Joppa, the disciples having heard that Peter is in that, sent two men unto him, calling on him not to delay to come through unto them.

Poiché Lidda era vicina a Ioppe, i discepoli, udito che Pietro era là, mandarono due uomini per pregarlo: «Non esitare a venire da noi».

39 A nd Peter having risen, went with them, whom having come, they brought into the upper chamber, and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing coats and garments, as many as Dorcas was making while she was with them.

Pietro allora si alzò e partì con loro. Appena arrivato, lo condussero nella stanza di sopra; e tutte le vedove si presentarono a lui piangendo, mostrandogli tutte le tuniche e i vestiti che Gazzella faceva mentre era con loro.

40 A nd Peter having put them all forth without, having bowed the knees, did pray, and having turned unto the body said, `Tabitha, arise;' and she opened her eyes, and having seen Peter, she sat up,

Ma Pietro, fatti uscire tutti, si mise in ginocchio e pregò; e, voltatosi verso il corpo, disse: «Tabita, àlzati». Ella aprì gli occhi; e, visto Pietro, si mise seduta.

41 a nd having given her hand, he lifted her up, and having called the saints and the widows, he presented her alive,

Egli le diede la mano e la fece alzare; e, chiamati i santi e le vedove, la presentò loro in vita.

42 a nd it became known throughout all Joppa, and many believed on the Lord;

Ciò fu risaputo in tutta Ioppe, e molti credettero nel Signore.

43 a nd it came to pass, that he remained many days in Joppa, with a certain one, Simon a tanner.

Pietro rimase molti giorni a Ioppe, presso un certo Simone, conciatore di pelli.
