1 A nd Jehovah speaketh unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying unto them,

Poi il Signore disse a Mosè e ad Aaronne:

2 ` Speak unto the sons of Israel, saying, This the beast which ye do eat out of all the beasts which on the earth:

«Parlate così ai figli d’Israele: “Questi sono gli animali che potrete mangiare fra tutte le bestie che sono sulla terra.

3 a ny dividing a hoof, and cleaving the cleft of the hoofs, bringing up the cud, among the beasts, it ye do eat.

Mangerete ogni animale che ha l’unghia spartita, il piede forcuto, e che rumina.

4 ` Only, this ye do not eat -- of those bringing up the cud, and of those dividing the hoof -- the camel, though it is bringing up the cud, yet the hoof not dividing -- it unclean to you;

Ma tra quelli che ruminano e tra quelli che hanno l’unghia spartita, non mangerete questi: il cammello, perché rumina, ma non ha l’unghia spartita; lo considererete impuro;

5 a nd the rabbit, though it is bringing up the cud, yet the hoof it divideth not -- unclean it to you;

l’irace, perché rumina, ma non ha l’unghia spartita; lo considererete impuro;

6 a nd the hare, though it is bringing up the cud, yet the hoof hath not divided -- unclean it to you;

la lepre, perché rumina, ma non ha l’unghia spartita; la considererete impura;

7 a nd the sow, though it is dividing the hoof, and cleaving the cleft of the hoof, yet the cud it bringeth not up -- unclean it to you.

il porco, perché ha l’unghia spartita e il piede forcuto, ma non rumina; lo considererete impuro.

8 ` Of their flesh ye do not eat, and against their carcase ye do not come -- unclean they to you.

Non mangerete la loro carne e non toccherete i loro corpi morti; li considererete impuri.

9 ` This ye do eat of all which in the waters; any one that hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the brooks, them ye do eat;

Fra tutti gli animali acquatici voi potrete mangiare questi. Mangerete tutto ciò che ha pinne e squame nelle acque, tanto nei mari quanto nei fiumi.

10 a nd any one that hath not fins and scales in the seas, and in the brooks, of any teeming creature of the waters, and of any creature which liveth, which in the waters -- an abomination they to you;

Ma tutto ciò che non ha né pinne né squame, sia nei mari sia nei fiumi, fra tutto ciò che si muove nelle acque e tutto ciò che vive nelle acque, lo considererete abominevole.

11 y ea, an abomination they are to you; of their flesh ye do not eat, and their carcase ye abominate.

Li considererete abominevoli; non mangerete la loro carne, e avrete in abominio i loro corpi morti.

12 ` Any one that hath not fins and scales in the waters -- an abomination it to you.

Considererete abominevole tutto ciò che non ha né pinne né squame nelle acque.

13 ` And these ye do abominate of the fowl; they are not eaten, an abomination they: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray,

Tra gli uccelli avrete in abominio questi, e non li mangerete, perché sono un abominio: l’aquila, l’ossìfraga e l’aquila di mare;

14 a nd the vulture, and the kite after its kind,

il nibbio e ogni specie di falco;

15 e very raven after its kind,

ogni specie di corvo;

16 a nd the owl, and the night-hawk, and the cuckoo, and the hawk after its kind,

lo struzzo, il barbagianni, il gabbiano e ogni specie di sparviero;

17 a nd the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl,

il gufo, lo smergo, l’ibis;

18 a nd the swan, and the pelican, and the gier eagle,

il cigno, il pellicano, l’avvoltoio;

19 a nd the stork, the heron after its kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.

la cicogna, ogni specie di airone, l’upupa e il pipistrello.

20 ` Every teeming creature which is flying, which is going on four -- an abomination it to you.

Avrete in abominio pure ogni insetto alato che cammina su quattro piedi.

21 ` Only -- this ye do eat of any teeming thing which is flying, which is going on four, which hath legs above its feet, to move with them on the earth;

Però, fra tutti gli insetti alati che camminano su quattro piedi, mangerete quelli che hanno zampe sopra i piedi adatte a saltare sulla terra.

22 t hese of them ye do eat: the locust after its kind, and the bald locust after its kind, and the beetle after its kind, and the grasshopper after its kind;

Di questi potrete mangiare: ogni specie di cavallette, ogni specie di locuste, gli acridi e i grilli.

23 a nd every teeming thing which is flying, which hath four feet -- an abomination it to you.

Ogni altro insetto alato che ha quattro piedi vi sarà in abominio.

24 ` And by these ye are made unclean, any one who is coming against their carcase is unclean till the evening;

Questi animali vi renderanno impuri; chiunque toccherà il loro corpo morto sarà impuro fino alla sera.

25 a nd anyone who is lifting up of their carcase doth wash his garments, and hath been unclean till the evening: --

Chiunque porterà i loro corpi morti si laverà le vesti e sarà impuro fino alla sera.

26 e ven every beast which is dividing the hoof, and is not cloven-footed, and the cud is not bringing up -- unclean they to you; any one who is coming against them is unclean.

Considererete impuro ogni animale che ha l’unghia spartita, ma non ha il piede forcuto e non rumina; chiunque lo toccherà sarà impuro.

27 ` And any one going on its paws, among all the beasts which are going on four -- unclean they to you; any one who is coming against their carcase is unclean until the evening;

Considererete impuri tutti i quadrupedi che camminano sulla pianta dei piedi; chiunque toccherà il loro corpo morto sarà impuro fino alla sera.

28 a nd he who is lifting up their carcase doth wash his garments, and hath been unclean until the evening -- unclean they to you.

Chiunque porterà i loro corpi morti si laverà le vesti e sarà immondo fino alla sera. Questi animali li considererete impuri.

29 ` And this to you the unclean among the teeming things which are teeming on the earth: the weasel, and the mouse, and the tortoise after its kind,

Tra i piccoli animali che strisciano sulla terra, considererete impuri questi: la talpa, il topo e ogni specie di lucertola,

30 a nd the ferret, and the chameleon, and the lizard, and the snail, and the mole;

il toporagno, la rana, la tartaruga, la lumaca, il camaleonte.

31 t hese the unclean to you among all which are teeming; any one who is coming against them in their death is unclean till the evening.

Questi, fra gli animali che strisciano, saranno impuri per voi; chiunque li toccherà quando sono morti sarà impuro fino alla sera.

32 ` And anything on which any one of them falleth, in their death, is unclean, of any vessel of wood or garment or skin or sack, any vessel in which work is done is brought into water, and hath been unclean till the evening, then it hath been clean;

Ogni oggetto sul quale cadrà qualcuno di essi quando è morto sarà immondo: sia che si tratti di oggetti di legno o stoffa o pelle o sacco o qualunque altro oggetto di cui si faccia uso; sarà messo nell’acqua e sarà impuro fino alla sera; poi sarà puro.

33 a nd any earthen vessel, into the midst of which one of them falleth, all that in its midst is unclean, and it ye do break.

Se ne cade qualcuno in un vaso di terra, tutto quello che vi si troverà dentro sarà impuro, e spezzerete il vaso.

34 ` Of all the food which is eaten, that on which cometh water, is unclean, and all drink which is drunk in any vessel is unclean;

Ogni cibo che serve al nutrimento, sul quale sarà caduta di quell’acqua, sarà impuro; e ogni bevanda di cui si fa uso, qualunque sia il vaso che la contiene, sarà impura.

35 a nd anything on which of their carcase falleth is unclean (oven or double pots), it is broken down, unclean they, yea, unclean they are to you.

Ogni oggetto sul quale cadrà qualcosa del loro corpo morto sarà impuro; il forno o il fornello sarà spezzato; sono impuri e li considererete impuri.

36 ` Only -- a fountain or pit, a collection of water, is clean, but that which is coming against their carcase is unclean;

Però una fonte o una cisterna, nella quale c’è dell’acqua, sarà pura; ma chi toccherà i loro corpi morti sarà impuro.

37 a nd when of their carcase falleth on any sown seed which is sown -- it clean;

Se qualcosa dei loro corpi morti cade su qualche seme che deve essere seminato, questo sarà puro;

38 a nd when water is put on the seed, and of its carcase hath fallen on it -- unclean it to you.

ma se è stata versata dell’acqua sul seme e vi cade sopra qualcosa dei loro corpi morti, lo considererai impuro.

39 ` And when any of the beasts which are to you for food dieth, he who is coming against its carcase is unclean till the evening;

Se muore un animale di quelli che vi servono per nutrimento, colui che ne toccherà il corpo morto sarà impuro fino alla sera.

40 a nd he who is eating of its carcase doth wash his garments, and hath been unclean till the evening; and he who is lifting up its carcase doth wash his garments, and hath been unclean till the evening.

Colui che mangerà di quel corpo morto si laverà le vesti e sarà impuro fino alla sera; allo stesso modo colui che porterà quel corpo morto si laverà le vesti e sarà impuro fino alla sera.

41 ` And every teeming thing which is teeming on the earth is an abomination, it is not eaten;

Ogni cosa che striscia sulla terra è abominevole; non se ne mangerà.

42 a ny thing going on the belly, and any going on four, unto every multiplier of feet, to every teeming thing which is teeming on the earth -- ye do not eat them, for they an abomination;

Di tutti gli animali che brulicano sulla terra non ne mangerete nessuno di quelli che strisciano sul ventre o camminano con quattro piedi o con molti piedi, perché sono abominevoli.

43 y e do not make yourselves abominable with any teeming thing which is teeming, nor do ye make yourselves unclean with them, so that ye have been unclean thereby.

Non vi rendete abominevoli a causa di uno di questi animali che strisciano e non vi rendete impuri per causa loro e non lasciatevi contaminare da loro.

44 ` For I Jehovah your God, and ye have sanctified yourselves, and ye have been holy, for I holy; and ye do not defile your persons with any teeming thing which is creeping on the earth;

Poiché io sono il Signore, il vostro Dio; santificatevi dunque e siate santi, perché io sono santo. Non contaminate le vostre persone per mezzo di uno qualsiasi di questi animali che strisciano sulla terra.

45 f or I Jehovah who am bringing you up out of the land of Egypt to become your God; and ye have been holy, for I holy.

Poiché io sono il Signore che vi ho fatti salire dal paese d’Egitto, per essere il vostro Dio. Siate dunque santi, perché io sono santo.

46 ` This a law of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every living creature which is moving in the waters, and of every creature which is teeming on the earth,

Questa è la legge riguardante i quadrupedi, gli uccelli, ogni essere vivente che si muove nelle acque e ogni essere che striscia sulla terra,

47 t o make separation between the unclean and the pure, and between the beast that is eaten, and the beast that is not eaten.'

perché sappiate discernere ciò che è impuro da ciò che è puro, l’animale che si può mangiare da quello che non si deve mangiare”».
