1 A nd there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying,

La parola del Signore mi fu rivolta in questi termini:

2 ` Son of man, prophesy concerning shepherds of Israel, prophesy, and thou hast said unto them: To the shepherds, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Wo the shepherds of Israel, Who have been feeding themselves! The flock do not the shepherds feed?

«Figlio d’uomo, profetizza contro i pastori d’Israele; profetizza e di’ a quei pastori: Così parla il Signore, Dio: “Guai ai pastori d’Israele che non hanno fatto altro che pascere se stessi! Non è forse il gregge quello che i pastori debbono pascere?

3 T he fat ye do eat, and the wool ye put on, The fed one ye slaughter, the flock ye feed not.

Voi mangiate il latte, vi vestite di lana, ammazzate ciò che è ingrassato, ma non pascete il gregge.

4 T he weak ye have not strengthened, And the sick one ye have not healed, And the broken ye have not bound up, And the driven away have not brought back, And the lost ye have not sought, And with might ye have ruled them and with rigour.

Voi non avete rafforzato le pecore deboli, non avete guarito la malata, non avete fasciato quella che era ferita, non avete ricondotto la smarrita, non avete cercato la perduta, ma avete dominato su di loro con violenza e con asprezza.

5 A nd they are scattered from want of a shepherd, And are for food to every beast of the field, Yea, they are scattered.

Esse, per mancanza di pastore, si sono disperse, sono diventate pasto di tutte le bestie dei campi e si sono disperse.

6 G o astray do My flock on all the mountains, And on every high hill, And on all the face of the land have My flock been scattered, And there is none inquiring, and none seeking.

Le mie pecore si smarriscono per tutti i monti e per ogni alto colle; le mie pecore si disperdono su tutta la distesa del paese, e non c’è nessuno che se ne prenda cura, nessuno che le cerchi!

7 T herefore, shepherds, hear a word of Jehovah:

Perciò, o pastori, ascoltate la parola del Signore!

8 I live -- an affirmation of the Lord Jehovah, If not, because of My flock being for a prey, Yea, My flock is for food to every beast of the field, Because there is no shepherd, And My shepherds have not sought My flock, And the shepherds do feed themselves, And My flock they have not fed.

Com’è vero che io vivo”, dice il Signore, Dio, “poiché le mie pecore sono abbandonate alla rapina e poiché le mie pecore, che sono senza pastore, servono di pasto a tutte le bestie dei campi, e i miei pastori non cercano le mie pecore, perché i pastori pascono se stessi e non pascono le mie pecore,

9 T herefore, O shepherds, hear a word of Jehovah:

per questo, o pastori, ascoltate la parola del Signore!

10 T hus said the Lord Jehovah: Lo, I against the shepherds, And have required My flock from their hand, And caused them to cease from feeding the flock, And no more do the shepherds feed themselves, And I have delivered My flock from their mouth, And they are not to them for food.

Così parla il Signore, Dio: Eccomi contro i pastori; io domanderò le mie pecore alle loro mani e li farò cessare dal pascere le pecore. I pastori non pasceranno più se stessi; io strapperò le mie pecore dalla loro bocca ed esse non serviranno più loro di pasto”. Il Pastore d’Israele

11 F or thus said the Lord Jehovah: Lo, I -- even I, have required My flock, And I have sought it out.

«Infatti così dice il Signore, Dio: “Eccomi! Io stesso mi prenderò cura delle mie pecore e andrò in cerca di loro.

12 A s a shepherd's searching of his drove, In the day of his being in the midst of his scattered flock, so I do seek My flock, And have delivered them out of all places, Whither they have been scattered, In a day of cloud and thick darkness.

Come un pastore va in cerca del suo gregge il giorno che si trova in mezzo alle sue pecore disperse, così io andrò in cerca delle mie pecore e le ricondurrò da tutti i luoghi dove sono state disperse in un giorno di nuvole e di tenebre.

13 A nd brought them out from the peoples, And have gathered them from the lands, And brought them unto their own ground, And have fed them on mountains of Israel, By streams, and by all dwellings of the land.

Le farò uscire dai popoli, le radunerò dai diversi paesi e le ricondurrò sul loro suolo; le pascerò sui monti d’Israele, lungo i ruscelli e in tutti i luoghi abitati del paese.

14 W ith good pasture I do feed them, And on mountains of the high place of Israel is their habitation, There do they lie down in a good habitation, And fat pastures they enjoy on mountains of Israel.

Io le pascerò in buoni pascoli e i loro ovili saranno sugli alti monti d’Israele; esse riposeranno là in buoni ovili e pascoleranno in grassi pascoli sui monti d’Israele.

15 I feed My flock, and cause them to lie down, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.

Io stesso pascerò le mie pecore, io stesso le farò riposare”, dice il Signore, Dio.

16 T he lost I seek, and the driven away bring back, And the broken I bind up, and the sick I strengthen, And the fat and the strong I destroy, I feed it with judgment.

“Io cercherò la perduta, ricondurrò la smarrita, fascerò la ferita, rafforzerò la malata, ma distruggerò la grassa e la forte; io le pascerò con giustizia.

17 A nd you, My flock, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Lo, I am judging between sheep and sheep, Between rams and he-goats.

Quanto a voi, o pecore mie, così dice il Signore, Dio: Ecco, io giudicherò tra pecora e pecora, fra montoni e capri.

18 I s it a little thing for you -- the good pasture ye enjoy, And the remnant of your pasture ye tread down with your feet, And a depth of waters ye do drink, And the remainder with your feet ye trample,

Vi sembra forse troppo poco il pascolare in questo buon pascolo, al punto che volete calpestare con i piedi ciò che rimane del vostro pascolo? Il bere le acque più chiare, al punto che volete intorbidire con i piedi quel che ne resta?

19 A nd My flock the trodden thing of your feet consumeth, And the trampled thing of your feet drinketh?

Le mie pecore hanno per pascolo quello che i vostri piedi hanno calpestato; devono bere ciò che i vostri piedi hanno intorbidito!”

20 T herefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah to them: Lo, I -- even I, have judged between fat sheep and lean sheep.

«Perciò, così dice loro il Signore, Dio: “Eccomi, io stesso giudicherò fra la pecora grassa e la pecora magra.

21 B ecause with side and with shoulder ye thrust away, And with your horns push all the diseased, Till ye have scattered them to the out-place,

Siccome voi avete spinto con il fianco e con la spalla, e avete cozzato con le corna tutte le pecore deboli finché non le avete disperse e cacciate fuori,

22 A nd I have given safety to My flock, And they are not any more for prey, And I have judged between sheep and sheep.

io salverò le mie pecore ed esse non saranno più abbandonate alla rapina; giudicherò tra pecora e pecora.

23 A nd have raised up over them one shepherd, And he hath fed them -- my servant David, He doth feed them, and he is their shepherd,

Porrò sopra di esse un solo pastore che le pascolerà: il mio servo Davide; egli le pascolerà, egli sarà il loro pastore.

24 A nd I, Jehovah, I am their God, And My servant David prince in their midst, I, Jehovah, have spoken.

Io, il Signore, sarò il loro Dio, e il mio servo Davide sarà principe in mezzo a loro. Io, il Signore, ho parlato.

25 A nd I have made for them a covenant of peace, And caused evil beasts to cease out of the land, And they have dwelt in a wilderness confidently, And they have slept in forests.

Stabilirò con esse un patto di pace; farò sparire le bestie selvatiche dal paese; le mie pecore abiteranno al sicuro nel deserto e dormiranno nelle foreste.

26 A nd I have given them, and the suburbs of my hill, a blessing, And caused the shower to come down in its season, Showers of blessing they are.

Farò in modo che esse e i luoghi attorno al mio colle siano una benedizione; farò scendere la pioggia a suo tempo, e saranno piogge di benedizione.

27 A nd given hath the tree of the field its fruit, And the land doth give her increase, And they have been on their land confident, And they have known that I Jehovah, In My breaking the bands of their yoke, And I have delivered them from the hand of those laying service on them.

L’albero dei campi darà il suo frutto, e la terra darà i suoi prodotti. Esse staranno al sicuro sul loro suolo e conosceranno che io sono il Signore, quando spezzerò le sbarre del loro giogo e le libererò dalla mano di quelli che le tenevano schiave.

28 A nd they are no more a prey to nations, And the beast of the earth devoureth them not, And they have dwelt confidently, And there is none troubling.

Non saranno più preda delle nazioni; le bestie dei campi non le divoreranno più, ma se ne staranno al sicuro, senza che nessuno più le spaventi.

29 A nd I have raised for them a plant for renown, And they are no more consumed by hunger in the land, And they bear no more the shame of the nations.

Farò crescere per loro una vegetazione rinomata; non saranno più consumate dalla fame nel paese e non subiranno più gli oltraggi delle nazioni.

30 A nd they have known that I, Jehovah, their God, with them, And they -- the house of Israel -- My people, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.

Conosceranno che io, il Signore, loro Dio, sono con loro, e che esse, la casa d’Israele, sono il mio popolo”, dice il Signore, Dio.

31 A nd ye, My flock, the flock of My pasture, Men ye -- I your God, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah!'

“Voi, pecore mie, pecore del mio pascolo, siete uomini. Io sono il vostro Dio”, dice il Signore, Dio ».
