Il resto del popolo, i sacerdoti, i Leviti, i portinai, i cantori, i Netinei e tutti quelli che si erano separati dai popoli dei paesi stranieri per aderire alla legge di Dio, le loro mogli, i loro figli e le loro figlie, tutti quelli che avevano discernimento e intelligenza,

29 a re laying hold on their brethren, their honourable ones, and coming in to an execration, and in to an oath, to walk in the law of God, that was given by the hand of Moses, servant of God, and to observe and to do all the commands of Jehovah our Lord, and His judgments, and His statutes;

si sono uniti ai loro fratelli più ragguardevoli, e si sono impegnati con esecrazioni e giuramenti a camminare nella legge di Dio data mediante Mosè servo di Dio, a osservare e mettere in pratica tutti i comandamenti del Signore nostro Dio, le sue prescrizioni e le sue leggi,

30 a nd that we give not our daughters to the peoples of the land, and their daughters we take not to our sons;

a non dare le nostre figlie ai popoli del paese e a non prendere le loro figlie per i nostri figli,

31 a nd the peoples of the land who are bringing in the wares and any corn on the sabbath-day to sell, we receive not of them on the sabbath, and on a holy day, and we leave the seventh year, and usury on every hand.

a non comprare nulla in giorno di sabato o in altro giorno di festa, dai popoli che portassero a vendere in giorno di sabato merci o derrate di qualsiasi genere, a lasciare riposare la terra ogni settimo anno e a rimettere ogni debito. Il servizio del tempio

32 A nd we have appointed for ourselves commands, to put on ourselves the third of a shekel in a year, for the service of the house of our God,

«Ci siamo anche imposti per legge di dare ogni anno il terzo di un siclo per il servizio della casa del nostro Dio,

33 f or bread of the arrangement, and the continual present, and the continual burnt-offering of the sabbaths, of the new moons, for appointed seasons, and for holy things, and for sin-offerings, to make atonement for Israel, even all the work of the house of our God.

per i pani della presentazione, per l’offerta continua, per l’olocausto continuo dei sabati, dei noviluni, delle feste, per le cose consacrate, per i sacrifici espiatori in favore d’Israele e per tutta l’opera della casa del nostro Dio.

34 A nd the lots we have caused to fall for the offering of wood, the priests, the Levites, and the people, to bring in to the house of our God, by the house of our fathers, at times appointed, year by year, to burn on the altar of Jehovah our God, as it is written in the law,

Noi, sacerdoti, Leviti e popolo, abbiamo stabilito per sorteggio quando ognuna delle nostre famiglie deve portare alla casa di Dio, nei tempi stabiliti, ogni anno, un contributo di legna da bruciare sull’altare del Signore nostro Dio, come sta scritto nella legge;

35 a nd to bring in the first fruits of our ground, and the first fruits of all fruit of every tree, year by year, to the house of Jehovah,

e ci siamo impegnati a portare ogni anno nella casa del Signore le primizie del nostro suolo e le primizie dei frutti di tutti gli alberi,

36 a nd the firstlings of our sons, and of our cattle, as it is written in the law, and the firstlings of our herds and our flocks, to bring in to the house of our God, to the priests who are ministering in the house of our God.

e così pure i primogeniti dei nostri figli e del nostro bestiame secondo quanto sta scritto nella legge, e i primogeniti delle nostre mandrie e delle nostre greggi per presentarli nella casa del nostro Dio ai sacerdoti che fanno il servizio nella casa del nostro Dio.

37 A nd the beginning of our dough, and our heave-offerings, and the fruit of every tree, of new wine, and of oil, we bring in to the priests, unto the chambers of the house of our God, and the tithe of our ground to the Levites; and they -- the Levites -- have the tithes in all the cities of our tillage;

Ci siamo anche impegnati a portare ai sacerdoti nei magazzini della casa del nostro Dio, la nostra prima farina, le nostre offerte, le primizie dei frutti di tutti gli alberi, del vino e dell’olio, e di dare la decima delle rendite del nostro suolo ai Leviti, i quali devono prelevare essi stessi queste decime in tutti i luoghi da noi coltivati.

38 a nd the priest, son of Aaron, hath been with the Levites in the tithing of the Levites, and the Levites bring up the tithe of the tithe to the house of our God unto the chambers, to the treasure-house;

Un sacerdote, figlio di Aaronne, sarà con i Leviti quando preleveranno le decime; e i Leviti porteranno la decima della decima alla casa del nostro Dio nelle stanze usate come magazzino,

39 f or unto the chambers do they bring in -- the sons of Israel and the sons of Levi -- the heave-offering of the corn, the new wine, and the oil, and there vessels of the sanctuary, and the priests, those ministering, and the gatekeepers, and the singers, and we do not forsake the house of our God.

perché in quelle stanze i figli d’Israele e i figli di Levi devono portare l’offerta di frumento, di vino e d’olio; là sono gli utensili del santuario, i sacerdoti che fanno il servizio, i portinai e i cantori. Noi ci siamo così impegnati a non trascurare la casa del nostro Dio».
