1 J ehovah hath reigned, The earth is joyful, many isles rejoice.

Il Signore regna; esulti la terra e gioiscano le numerose isole.

2 C loud and darkness round about Him, Righteousness and judgment the basis of His throne.

Nuvole e oscurità lo circondano; giustizia ed equità sono le basi del suo trono.

3 F ire before Him goeth, And burneth round about His adversaries.

Un fuoco lo precede e consuma i suoi nemici tutt’intorno.

4 L ightened have His lightnings the world, The earth hath seen, and is pained.

I suoi lampi illuminano il mondo; la terra lo vede e trema.

5 H ills, like wax, melted before Jehovah, Before the Lord of all the earth.

I monti si sciolgono come cera davanti al Signore, davanti al Signore di tutta la terra.

6 T he heavens declared His righteousness, And all the peoples have seen His honour.

I cieli annunciano la sua giustizia e tutti i popoli vedono la sua gloria.

7 A shamed are all servants of a graven image, Those boasting themselves in idols, Bow yourselves to him, all ye gods.

Sono confusi gli adoratori di immagini e quanti si vantano degli idoli; si prostrano a lui tutti gli dèi.

8 Z ion hath heard and rejoiceth, And daughters of Judah are joyful, Because of Thy judgments, O Jehovah.

Sion ascolta e ne gioisce; esultano le figlie di Giuda per i tuoi giudizi, o Signore!

9 F or Thou, Jehovah, Most High over all the earth, Greatly Thou hast been exalted over all gods.

Poiché tu, Signore, sei l’Altissimo su tutta la terra; tu sei molto più in alto di tutti gli dèi.

10 Y e who love Jehovah, hate evil, He is keeping the souls of His saints, From the hand of the wicked he delivereth them.

Voi che amate il Signore, odiate il male! Egli custodisce le anime dei suoi fedeli, li libera dalla mano degli empi.

11 L ight sown for the righteous, And for the upright of heart -- joy.

La luce è spuntata per il giusto, e la gioia per i retti di cuore.

12 R ejoice, ye righteous, in Jehovah, And give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness!

Gioite nel Signore, giusti, e lodate il suo santo nome!
