1 A nd I saw, and lo, a Lamb having stood upon the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty-four thousands, having the name of his Father written upon their foreheads;

Poi guardai e vidi l’Agnello che stava in piedi sul monte Sion, e con lui erano centoquarantaquattromila persone che avevano il suo nome e il nome di suo Padre scritto sulla fronte.

2 a nd I heard a voice out of the heaven, as a voice of many waters, and as a voice of great thunder, and a voice I heard of harpers harping with their harps,

Udii una voce dal cielo simile a un fragore di grandi acque e al rumore di un forte tuono; e la voce che udii era come il suono prodotto da arpisti che suonano le loro arpe.

3 a nd they sing, as it were, a new song before the throne, and before the four living creatures, and the elders, and no one was able to learn the song except the hundred forty-four thousands, who have been bought from the earth;

Essi cantavano un cantico nuovo davanti al trono, davanti alle quattro creature viventi e agli anziani. Nessuno poteva imparare il cantico se non i centoquarantaquattromila, che sono stati riscattati dalla terra.

4 t hese are they who with women were not defiled, for they are virgin; these are they who are following the Lamb whithersoever he may go; these were bought from among men -- a first-fruit to God and to the Lamb --

Essi sono quelli che non si sono contaminati con donne, poiché sono vergini. Essi sono quelli che seguono l’Agnello dovunque vada. Essi sono stati riscattati tra gli uomini per essere primizie a Dio e all’Agnello.

5 a nd in their mouth there was not found guile, for unblemished are they before the throne of God.

6 A nd I saw another messenger flying in mid-heaven, having good news age-during to proclaim to those dwelling upon the earth, and to every nation, and tribe, and tongue, and people,

Poi vidi un altro angelo che volava in mezzo al cielo, recante il vangelo eterno per annunciarlo a quelli che abitano sulla terra, a ogni nazione, tribù, lingua e popolo.

7 s aying in a great voice, `Fear ye God, and give to Him glory, because come did the hour of His judgment, and bow ye before Him who did make the heaven, and the land, and sea, and fountains of waters.'

Egli diceva con voce forte: «Temete Dio e dategli gloria, perché è giunta l’ora del suo giudizio. Adorate colui che ha fatto il cielo, la terra, il mare e le fonti delle acque».

8 A nd another messenger did follow, saying, `Fall, fall, did Babylon, the great city, because of the wine of the wrath of her whoredom she hath given to all nations to drink.'

Poi un secondo angelo seguì dicendo: «Caduta, caduta è Babilonia la grande, che ha fatto bere a tutte le nazioni il vino dell’ira della sua prostituzione».

9 A nd a third messenger did follow them, saying in a great voice, `If any one the beast doth bow before, and his image, and doth receive a mark upon his forehead, or upon his hand,

Seguì un terzo angelo, dicendo a gran voce: «Chiunque adora la bestia e la sua immagine, e ne prende il marchio sulla fronte o sulla mano,

10 h e also shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, that hath been mingled unmixed in the cup of His anger, and he shall be tormented in fire and brimstone before the holy messengers, and before the Lamb,

egli pure berrà il vino dell’ira di Dio versato puro nel calice della sua ira; e sarà tormentato con fuoco e zolfo davanti ai santi angeli e davanti all’Agnello».

11 a nd the smoke of their torment doth go up to ages of ages; and they have no rest day and night, who are bowing before the beast and his image, also if any doth receive the mark of his name.

Il fumo del loro tormento sale nei secoli dei secoli. Chiunque adora la bestia e la sua immagine, e prende il marchio del suo nome, non ha riposo né giorno né notte.

12 H ere is endurance of the saints: here those keeping the commands of God, and the faith of Jesus.'

Qui è la costanza dei santi che osservano i comandamenti di Dio e la fede in Gesù.

13 A nd I heard a voice out of the heaven saying to me, `Write: Happy are the dead who in the Lord are dying from this time!' `Yes, (saith the Spirit,) That they may rest from their labours -- and their works do follow them!'

14 A nd I saw, and lo, a white cloud, and upon the cloud sitting like to a son of man, having upon his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle;

Poi guardai e vidi una nube bianca; e sulla nube stava seduto uno, simile a un figlio d’uomo, che aveva sul capo una corona d’oro e in mano una falce affilata.

15 a nd another messenger did come forth out of the sanctuary crying in a great voice to him who is sitting upon the cloud, `Send forth thy sickle and reap, because come to thee hath the hour of reaping, because ripe hath been the harvest of the earth;'

Un altro angelo uscì dal tempio, gridando a gran voce a colui che stava seduto sulla nube: «Metti mano alla tua falce e mieti; poiché è giunta l’ora di mietere, perché la mèsse della terra è matura ».

16 a nd he who is sitting upon the cloud did put forth his sickle upon the earth, and the earth was reaped.

Colui che era seduto sulla nube lanciò la sua falce sulla terra, e la terra fu mietuta.

17 A nd another messenger did come forth out of the sanctuary that in the heaven, having -- he also -- a sharp sickle,

Poi dal tempio, che è nel cielo, uscì un altro angelo; anch’egli aveva una falce affilata.

18 a nd another messenger did come forth out from the altar, having authority over the fire, and he called with a great cry to him having the sharp sickle, saying, `Send forth thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth, because come to perfection have her grapes;'

E un altro angelo, che aveva potere sul fuoco, uscì dall’altare e gridò a gran voce a quello che aveva la falce affilata: «Metti mano alla tua falce affilata e vendemmia i grappoli della vigna della terra, perché le sue uve sono mature».

19 a nd the messenger did put forth his sickle to the earth, and did gather the vine of the earth, and did cast to the great wine-press of the wrath of God;

L’angelo lanciò la sua falce sulla terra e vendemmiò la vigna della terra e gettò l’uva nel grande tino dell’ira di Dio.

20 a nd trodden was the wine-press outside of the city, and blood did come forth out of the wine-press -- unto the bridles of the horses, a thousand, six hundred furlongs.

Il tino fu pigiato fuori dalla città e dal tino uscì tanto sangue che giungeva fino al morso dei cavalli, per una distesa di milleseicento stadi.
