1 T he word that hath been unto Jeremiah from Jehovah -- and Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and all his force, and all kingdoms of the land of the dominion of his hand, and all the peoples are fighting against Jerusalem, and against all its cities -- saying:

2 ` Thus said Jehovah, God of Israel: Go, and thou hast spoken unto Zedekiah king of Judah, and hast said unto him, Thus said Jehovah: Lo, I am giving this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he hath burned it with fire,

Така казва Господ, Израилевият Бог: Иди та говори на Юдовия цар Седекия, като му речеш: Така казва Господ: Ето, ще предам тоя град в ръката на вавилонския цар, който ще го изгори с огън.

3 a nd thou, thou dost not escape out of his hand, for thou art certainly caught, and into his hand thou art given, and thine eyes see the eyes of the king of Babylon, and his mouth with thy mouth speaketh, and Babylon thou enterest.

И ти няма да избегнеш от ръката му, но непременно ще бъдеш хванат и предаден в ръката му; и ти и вавилонският цар ще се погледнете очи в очи, и ще говорите уста с уста и ще отидеш във Вавилон.

4 ` Only, hear a word of Jehovah, O Zedekiah king of Judah, Thus said Jehovah unto thee: Thou dost not die by sword,

Обаче, Седекия, царю Юдов, слушайте Господното слово; така казва Господ за тебе: Няма да умреш от нож;

5 i n peace thou diest, and with the burnings of thy fathers, the former kings who have been before thee, so they make a burning for thee; and Ah, lord, they lament for thee, for the word I have spoken -- an affirmation of Jehovah.'

мирно ще умреш; и каквито горения правеха за бащите ти, предишните царе, които те предшествуваха, такива горения ще направят и за тебе; и ще те оплачат, казвайки: Уви! господарю! защото Аз изговорих това слово, казва Господ.

6 A nd Jeremiah the prophet speaketh unto Zedekiah king of Judah all these words in Jerusalem,

Тогава пророк Еремия предаде на Юдовия цар Седекия всички тия думи в Ерусалим,

7 a nd the forces of the king of Babylon are fighting against Jerusalem, and against all the cities of Judah that are left -- against Lachish, and against Azekah, for these have been left among the cities of Judah, cities of fortresses.

когато <още> войската на вавилонския цар се биеше против Ерусалим и против всичките останали Юдови градове, - против Лахис и Азика; защото от Юдовите градове <само> те <от> укрепените градове бяха останали.

8 T he word that hath been unto Jeremiah from Jehovah, after the making by the king Zedekiah of a covenant with all the people who in Jerusalem, to proclaim to them liberty,

Словото, което дойде към Еремия от Господа, след като цар Седекия беше направил завет с всичките люде, които бяха в Ерусалим, за да прогласят помежду си освобождение,

9 t o send out each his man-servant, and each his maid-servant -- the Hebrew and the Hebrewess -- free, so as not to lay service on them, any on a Jew his brother;

тъй щото всеки да пусне на свобода слугата си и всеки слугинята си, евреин или еврейка, та да не държи никой брата си юдеин за слуга.

10 a nd hearken do all the heads, and all the people who have come in to the covenant to send forth each his man-servant and each his maid-servant free, so as not to lay service on them any more, yea, they hearken, and send them away;

И всичките първенци и всичките люде бяха послушали, които стъпиха в завета да пусне на свобода всеки слугата си и всеки слугинята си, тъй щото да не ги държат вече за слуги; бяха послушали и бяха ги пуснали;

11 a nd they turn afterwards, and cause the men-servants and the maid-servants to return, whom they had sent forth free, and they subdue them for men-servants and for maid-servants.

но после бяха се пометнали, като накараха да се върнат слугите и слугините, които бяха пуснали на свобода, и ги подчиниха да бъдат слуги и слугини.

12 A nd there is a word of Jehovah unto Jeremiah from Jehovah, saying:

Затова Господното слово дойде към Еремия от Господа и рече:

13 ` Thus said Jehovah, God of Israel, I -- I made a covenant with your fathers in the day of My bringing them forth from the land of Egypt, from a house of servants, saying,

Така казва Господ Израилевият Бог: Аз направих завет с бащите ви, в деня, когато ги изведох от Египетската земя, из дома на робството, като рекох:

14 A t the end of seven years ye do send forth each his brother, the Hebrew, who is sold to thee, and hath served thee six years, yea, thou hast sent him forth free from thee: and your fathers hearkened not unto Me, nor inclined their ear.

В края на <всеки> седем години пускайте всеки брата си евреина, който ти се е продал и ти е слугувал шест години, - да го пускаш на свобода от тебе. Но бащите ви не Ме послушаха, нито приклониха ухото си.

15 ` And ye turn back, ye to-day, and ye do that which is right in Mine eyes, to proclaim liberty each to his neighbour, and ye make a covenant before Me in the house over which My name is called.

И вие сега бяхте се обърнали и бяхте извършили това, което е право пред Мене, като прогласихте всеки освобождение на ближния си; и бяхте направили завет пред Мене в дома, който се нарича с Моето име;

16 A nd -- ye turn back, and pollute My name, and ye cause each his man-servant and each his maid-servant, whom he had sent forth free, (at their pleasure,) to return, and ye subdue them to be to you for men-servants and for maid-servants.

но пометнахте се и осквернихте името Ми, като накарахте всеки слугата си и всеки слугинята си, които бяхте пуснали на свобода по волята им, да се върнат, и подчинихте ги да ви бъдат слуги и слугини.

17 ` Therefore, thus said Jehovah: Ye have not hearkened unto Me to proclaim freedom, each to his brother, and each to his neighbour; lo, I am proclaiming to you liberty -- an affirmation of Jehovah -- unto the sword, unto the pestilence, and unto the famine, and I have given you for a trembling to all kingdoms of the earth.

Затова така казва Господ: Вие не Ме послушахте да прогласите освобождение всеки на брата си и всеки на ближния си; ето, казва Господ, Аз прогласявам против вас свобода на ножа, на мора и на глада; и ще ви предам да бъдете тласкани по всичките царства на света.

18 ` And I have given the men who are transgressing My covenant, who have not established the words of the covenant that they have made before Me, by the calf, that they have cut in two, and pass through between its pieces --

И ще предам човеците, които са престъпили завета Ми, които не са изпълнили думите на завета, който направиха пред Мене, когато разсякоха телето на две и минаха между частите му,

19 h eads of Judah, and heads of Jerusalem, the officers, and the priests, and all the people of the land those passing through between the pieces of the calf --

юдовите първенци и ерусалимските първенци, скопците и свещениците, и всичките люде на <тая> земя, които минаха между частите на телето,

20 y ea, I have given them into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those seeking their soul, and their carcase hath been for food to the fowl of the heavens, and to the beast of the earth.

да! ще ги предам в ръката на неприятелите им и в ръката на ония, които искат живота им; и труповете им ще бъдат за храна на небесните птици и на земните зверове.

21 ` And Zedekiah king of Judah, and his heads, I give into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those seeking their soul, and into the hand of the forces of the king of Babylon, that are going up from off you.

И Юдовият цар Седекия и първенците му ще предам в ръката на неприятелите им, и в ръката на ония, които искат живота им, и в ръката на войските на вавилонския цар, които са се оттеглили от вас.

22 L o, I am commanding -- an affirmation of Jehovah -- and have brought them back unto this city, and they have fought against it, and captured it, and burned it with fire, and the cities of Judah I do make a desolation -- without inhabitant.'

Ето, ще заповядам, казва Господ, и ще ги върна в тоя град; и те като воюват против него, ще го превземат и ще го изгорят с огън; и ще обърна Юдовите градове в пустота, останали без жители.
