1 A nd there is a certain man of Ramathaim-Zophim, of the hill-country of Ephraim, and his name Elkanah, son of Jeroham, son of Elihu, son of Tohu, son of Zuph, and Ephrathite,

Имаше един човек от Раматаим-софим, от Ефремовата хълмиста земя, на име Елкана, син Ероамов, син Елиуев, син Тоуев, син на Суфа ефратец.

2 a nd he hath two wives, the name of the one Hannah, and the name of the second Peninnah, and Peninnah hath children, and Hannah hath no children.

Той имаше две жени; името на едната бе Анна, а името на другата Фенина. И Фенина имаше деца, а Анна нямаше деца.

3 A nd that man hath gone up out of his city from time to time, to bow himself, and to sacrifice, before Jehovah of Hosts, in Shiloh, and there two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, priests to Jehovah.

Тоя човек отиваше от града си всяка година, за да се поклони и да принесе жертва на Господа на Силите в Сило, гдето двамата Илиеви синове, Офний и Финеес бяха свещеници пред Господа.

4 A nd the day cometh, and Elkanah sacrificeth, and he hath given to Peninnah his wife, and to all her sons and her daughters, portions,

И <една година>, когато настъпи денят, в който Елкана принесе жертва, той даде дялове на жена си Фенина; на всичките й синове, и на дъщерите й;

5 a nd to Hannah he giveth a certain portion -- double, for he hath loved Hannah, and Jehovah hath shut her womb;

а на Анна даде двоен дял, защото обичаше Анна. Но Господ беше заключил утробата й.

6 a nd her adversity hath also provoked her greatly, so as to make her tremble, for Jehovah hath shut up her womb.

А съперницата й я дразнеше много, за да я направи да тъжи, за гдето Господ беше затворил утробата й.

7 A nd so he doth year by year, from the time of her going up into the house of Jehovah, so it provoketh her, and she weepeth, and doth not eat.

(Така ставаше всяка година; колкото пъти отиваше в Господния дом, така <Фенина> я дразнеше; а тя плачеше и не ядеше).

8 A nd Elkanah her husband saith to her, `Hannah, why weepest thou? and why dost thou not eat? and why is thy heart afflicted? am I not better to thee than ten sons?'

Но мъжът й Елкана й каза: Анно, защо плачеш? защо не ядеш? и защо е нажалено сърцето ти? Не съм ли ти аз по-желателен от десет сина?

9 A nd Hannah riseth after eating in Shiloh, and after drinking, and Eli the priest is sitting on the throne by the side-post of the temple of Jehovah.

А като ядоха в Сило и като пиха, Анна стана. (А свещеникът Илий седеше на стол близо при стълба на вратата при Господния храм).

10 A nd she is bitter in soul, and prayeth unto Jehovah, and weepeth greatly,

Тя, прочее, преогорчена в духа си, се молеше Господу, и плачеше твърде много.

11 a nd voweth a vow, and saith, `Jehovah of Hosts, if Thou dost certainly look on the affliction of Thy handmaid, and hast remembered me, and dost not forget Thy handmaid, and hast given to Thy handmaid seed of men -- then I have given him to Jehovah all days of his life, and a razor doth not go up upon his head.'

И направи обрек, казвайки: Господи на Силите, ако наистина погледнеш благосклонно към скръбта на слугинята Си, и ме спомниш, и не забравиш слугинята Си, но дадеш на слугинята Си мъжко дете, то ще го дам Господу за през всичките дни на живота му, и бръснач няма да мине през главата му.

12 A nd it hath been, when she multiplied praying before Jehovah, that Eli is watching her mouth,

А като продължаваше да се моли пред Господа, Илий забелязваше устата й.

13 a nd Hannah, she is speaking to her heart, only her lips are moving, and her voice is not heard, and Eli reckoneth her to be drunken.

Защото Анна говореше в сърцето си; само устните й мърдаха, а гласът й не се чуваше; затова, на Илия се стори, че беше пияна.

14 A nd Eli saith unto her, `Until when are thou drunken? turn aside thy wine from thee.'

За туй Илий й рече: До кога ще си пияна? Остави се от това твое вино.

15 A nd Hannah answereth and saith, `No, my lord, A woman sharply pained in spirit I, and wine and strong drink I have not drunk, and I pour out my soul before Jehovah;

А Анна в отговор рече: Не, господарю мой, аз съм жена преоскърбена в духа си; нито вино, нито спиртно питие съм пила, но излях душата си пред Господа.

16 p ut not thy handmaid before a daughter of worthlessness, for from the abundance of my meditation, and of my provocation, I have spoken hitherto.'

Не считай слугинята си за лоша жена; защото от голямото си оплакване от скръбта си съм говорила до сега.

17 A nd Eli answereth and saith, `Go in peace, and the God of Israel doth give thy petition which thou hast asked of Him.'

Тогава Илий в отговор рече: Иди с мир; и Израилевият Бог нека изпълни прошението, което си отправила към Него.

18 A nd she saith, `Let thy handmaid find grace in thine eyes;' and the woman goeth on her way, and eateth, and her countenance hath not been for it any more.

И тя рече: Дано слугинята ти придобие благословението ти. Тогава жената отиде по пътя си, и яде, и лицето й не беше вече <скръбно>.

19 A nd they rise early in the morning, and bow themselves before Jehovah, and turn back, and come in unto their house in Ramah, and Elkanah knoweth Hannah his wife, and Jehovah remembereth her;

И като станаха рано сутринта, та се поклониха пред Господа, върнаха се та отидоха в дома си у Рама. И Елкана позна жена си Анна, и Господ я спомни.

20 a nd it cometh to pass, at the revolution of the days, that Hannah conceiveth, and beareth a son, and calleth his name Samuel, `for, from Jehovah I have asked him.'

И когато се изпълни времето, откак Анна зачна, роди син; и нарече го Самуил {Т.е., Изискан от Бога.}; защото, <каза>: От Господа го изпросих.

21 A nd the man Elkanah goeth up, and all his house, to sacrifice to Jehovah the sacrifice of the days, and his vow.

И Елкана с целия си дом отиде, за да принесе Господу годишната жертва и обрека си.

22 A nd Hannah hath not gone up, for she said to her husband, `Till the youth is weaned -- then I have brought him in, and he hath appeared before the face of Jehovah, and dwelt there -- unto the age.'

Но Анна не отиде, защото рече на мъжа си: <Не ща да отида> докато не се отбие детето; тогава ще го занеса, за да се яви пред Господа и да живее там за винаги.

23 A nd Elkanah her husband saith to her, `Do that which is good in thine eyes; abide till thy weaning him; only, Jehovah establish His word;' and the woman abideth and suckleth her son till she hath weaned him,

И мъжът й Елкана й рече: Стори каквото ти се вижда за добро; седи докато го отбиеш; само Господ да утвърди словото Си! И тъй, жената седеше и доеше сина си докато го отби.

24 a nd she causeth him to go up with her when she hath weaned him, with three bullocks, and one ephah of flour, and a bottle of wine, and she bringeth him into the house of Jehovah at Shiloh, and the youth a youth.

И когато го отби, заведе го със себе си, заедно с един тригодишен юнец, и с една ефа брашно, и с един мех вино, и донесе го в Господния дом в Сило. А детето беше малко.

25 A nd they slaughter the bullock, and bring in the youth unto Eli,

И като заклаха юнеца, донесоха детето при Илия.

26 a nd she saith, `O, my lord, thy soul liveth! my lord, I the woman who stood with thee in this, to pray unto Jehovah;

И <Анна> рече: О, господарю мой, <заклевам се> в живота на душата ти, господарю мой, аз съм жената, която бе застанала тук близо при тебе, та се молеше Господу.

27 f or this youth I prayed, and Jehovah doth give to me my petition which I asked of Him;

За това дете се молех: и Господ ми изпълни прошението, което отправих към Него.

28 a nd also I have caused him to be asked for Jehovah, all the days that he hath lived -- he is asked for Jehovah;' and he boweth himself there before Jehovah.

Затова и аз го дадох на Господа; през всичките дни на живота си ще бъде посветен {Еврейски: Дадено на заем.} на Господа. И той се поклони там на Господа.
