1 É sta es la lista de la gente que Nabucodonosor había llevado cautiva a Babilonia, y que ahora regresaban a Jerusalén y a Judá, según la ciudad a la que pertenecían:

¶ Now these are the sons of the province that went up out of the captivity, of those which had been carried away, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away unto Babylon, and that returned unto Jerusalem and Judah, every one unto his city,

2 Z orobabel y sus acompañantes fueron Josué, Nehemías, Seraías, Relaías, Mardoqueo, Bilsán, Mispar, Bigvay, Rejún y Baná. El número de los israelitas fue el siguiente:

which came with Zerubbabel: Jeshua, Nehemiah, Seraiah, Reelaiah, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispar, Bigvai, Rehum, Baanah. The number of the men of the people of Israel:

3 L os descendientes de Paros: dos mil ciento setenta y dos.

The sons of Parosh, two thousand one hundred seventy-two.

4 L os descendientes de Sefatías: trescientos setenta y dos.

The sons of Shephatiah, three hundred seventy-two.

5 L os descendientes de Araj: setecientos setenta y cinco.

The sons of Arah, seven hundred seventy-five.

6 L os descendientes de Pajat Moab: dos mil ochocientos doce descendientes de Josué y de Joab.

The sons of Pahathmoab, of the sons of Jeshua and Joab, two thousand eight hundred and twelve.

7 L os descendientes de Elam: mil doscientos cincuenta y cuatro.

The sons of Elam, one thousand two hundred and fifty-four.

8 L os descendientes de Zatu: novecientos cuarenta y cinco.

The sons of Zattu, nine hundred and forty-five.

9 L os descendientes de Zacay: setecientos sesenta.

The sons of Zaccai, seven hundred and seventy.

10 L os descendientes de Bani, seiscientos cuarenta y dos.

The sons of Bani, six hundred and forty-two.

13 L os descendientes de Adonicán: seiscientos sesenta y seis.

14 L os descendientes de Bigvay: dos mil cincuenta y seis.

The sons of Bigvai, two thousand and fifty-six.

15 L os descendientes de Adín: cuatrocientos cincuenta y cuatro.

The sons of Adin, four hundred and fifty-four.

16 L os descendientes de Ater hijo de Ezequías: noventa y ocho.

The sons of Ater of Hezekiah, ninety-eight.

17 L os descendientes de Besay: trescientos veintitrés.

The sons of Bezai, three hundred and twenty-three.

18 L os descendientes de Jora: ciento doce.

The sons of Jorah, one hundred and twelve.

19 L os descendientes de Jasún: doscientos veintitrés.

20 L os descendientes de Gibar: noventa y cinco.

The men of Anathoth, one hundred and twenty-eight.

24 L os descendientes de Azmavet: cuarenta y dos.

The sons of Azmaveth, forty-two.

25 L os descendientes de Quiriat Yearín, Cafira y Berot: setecientos cuarenta y tres.

The sons of Kirjatharim, Chephirah, and Beeroth, seven hundred and forty-three.

26 L os descendientes de Ramá y Geba: seiscientos veintiuno.

The sons of Ramah and Gaba, six hundred and twenty-one.

27 L os descendientes de Micmas: ciento veintidós.

The men of Michmas, one hundred and twenty-two.

28 L os descendientes de Betel y Hai: doscientos veintitrés.

The men of Bethel and Ai, two hundred and twenty-three.

29 L os descendientes de Nebo: cincuenta y dos.

The sons of Nebo, fifty-two.

30 L os descendientes de Magbis: ciento cincuenta y seis.

The sons of Magbish, one hundred and fifty-six.

31 L os descendientes del otro Elam: mil doscientos cincuenta y cuatro.

The sons of the other Elam, one thousand two hundred and fifty-four.

32 L os descendientes de Jarín: trescientos veinte.

The sons of Harim, three hundred and twenty.

33 L os descendientes de Lod, Jadid y Onó: setecientos veinticinco.

The sons of Lod, Hadid, and Ono, seven hundred and twenty-five.

34 L os descendientes de Jericó: trescientos cuarenta y cinco.

The sons of Jericho, three hundred and forty-five.

35 L os descendientes de Sená: tres mil seiscientos treinta.

The sons of Senaah, three thousand six hundred and thirty.

36 L os sacerdotes descendientes de Jedaías, de la familia de Josué: novecientos setenta y tres.

¶ The priests: the sons of Jedaiah, of the house of Jeshua, nine hundred and seventy-three.

37 L os descendientes de Imer: mil cincuenta y dos.

The sons of Immer, one thousand and fifty-two.

38 L os descendientes de Pasjur: mil doscientos cuarenta y siete.

The sons of Pashur, one thousand two hundred and forty-seven.

39 L os descendientes de Jarín: mil diecisiete.

The sons of Harim, one thousand and seventeen.

40 L os levitas descendientes de Josué y de Cadmiel, de la familia de Hodavías: setenta y cuatro.

The Levites: the sons of Jeshua and of Kadmiel, of the sons of Hodaviah, seventy-four.

41 L os cantores descendientes de Asaf: ciento veintiocho.

The singers: the sons of Asaph, one hundred and twenty-eight.

42 L os porteros descendientes de Salún, Ater, Talmón, Acub, Jatitá y Sobay: ciento treinta y nueve en total.

55 L os descendientes de los siervos de Salomón eran descendientes de Sotay, Soferet, Peruda,

The sons of Solomon’s slaves: the sons of Sotai, the sons of Sophereth, the sons of Peruda,

56 J alá, Darcón, Gidel,

the sons of Jaalah, the sons of Darkon, the sons of Giddel,

57 S efatías, Jatil, Poquéret Hasebayin y Ami.

the sons of Shephatiah, the sons of Hattil, the sons of Pochereth of Zebaim, the sons of Ami.

58 T odos los sirvientes del templo descendientes de los siervos de Salomón: trescientos noventa y dos.

All the Nethinims and the sons of Solomon’s slaves, were three hundred and ninety-two.

59 H ubo otros que también fueron a Jerusalén, y provenían de Tel Melaj, Tel Jarsá, Querub, Addán e Imer, pero no pudieron demostrar de qué familia o línea patriarcal eran, ni siquiera si eran israelitas o no,

And these were those which went up from Telmelah, Telharsa, Cherub, Addan, and Immer, but they could not show their father’s house and their seed, whether they were of Israel.

60 a unque eran descendientes de Delaía, Tobías y Necoda: seiscientos cincuenta y dos.

The sons of Delaiah, the sons of Tobiah, the sons of Nekoda, six hundred and fifty-two.

61 L os descendientes de sacerdotes que tampoco pudieron demostrar si eran israelitas fueron los descendientes de Jabaías, Cos y Barzilay. Éste se casó con una de las hijas de Barzilay el galaadita, y tomó su nombre de la familia de ellas.

And of the sons of the priests: the sons of Habaiah, the sons of Koz, the sons of Barzillai; who took a wife of the daughters of Barzillai, the Gileadite, and was called after their name.

62 T odos ellos buscaron en vano el registro de sus genealogías y, como no lo hallaron, fueron excluidos del sacerdocio.

These sought their register among those that were reckoned by genealogy, but they were not found; therefore, they were, as polluted, put from the priesthood.

63 P or eso el gobernador les prohibió comer de las cosas sagradas hasta que hubiera un sacerdote que pudiera consultar con el Urim y el Tumim.

And the Tirshatha said unto them that they should not eat of the most holy things until there stood up a priest with Urim and Thummim.

64 E l total de la comunidad era de cuarenta y dos mil trescientas sesenta personas,

¶ The whole congregation united as one man was forty-two thousand three hundred and seventy,

65 s in contar a los siervos y las siervas, que sumaban siete mil trescientos treinta y siete personas, entre las cuales había doscientos cantores y cantoras.

besides their slaves and their maids, of whom there were seven thousand three hundred and thirty-seven; and there were among them two hundred men and women who were singers.

66 A demás, llevaban setecientos treinta y seis caballos, doscientas cuarenta y cinco mulas,

Their horses were seven hundred and thirty-six; their mules, two hundred and forty-five;

67 c uatrocientos treinta y cinco camellos y seis mil setecientos veinte asnos.

their camels, four hundred and thirty-five; their asses, six thousand seven hundred and twenty.

68 C uando llegaron al templo del Señor, en Jerusalén, algunos jefes de familia ofrecieron donativos para que se reedificara el templo en el mismo lugar.

And some of the heads of the fathers, when they came to the house of the LORD which was at Jerusalem, offered freely for the house of God to set it up in his place.

69 C onforme a sus posibilidades, entregaron al tesorero de la obra cuatrocientos ochenta y ocho kilos de oro, dos mil setecientos cincuenta kilos de plata, y cien túnicas para los sacerdotes.

They gave after their ability unto the treasure of the work sixty-one thousand drams of gold and five thousand pounds of silver and one hundred priests’ garments.

70 D espués, los sacerdotes, los levitas, parte del pueblo, los cantores, los porteros y los sirvientes del templo se quedaron a vivir en sus respectivos pueblos y ciudades, y el resto de Israel se fue a su ciudad natal.

So the priests and the Levites and those of the people and the singers and the porters and the Nethinims dwelt in their cities, and all Israel in their cities.
