1 » Cuando llegue el momento, se levantará Miguel, el gran príncipe que está de parte de los hijos de tu pueblo. Serán momentos angustiosos, como jamás los hubo desde que la humanidad existe, pero llegado el momento tu pueblo será liberado, lo mismo que todos los que estén registrados en el libro.

¶ And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince who is for the sons of thy people, and it shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there were people until now, but in that time thy people shall escape, all those that are found written in the book.

2 M uchos de los que duermen en el polvo de la tierra serán despertados, unos para vida eterna, y otros para vergüenza y confusión perpetua.

And many of those that sleep in the dust of the earth shall be awakened, some for eternal life, and some for shame and everlasting confusion.

3 L os entendidos resplandecerán como el resplandor del firmamento; y los que instruyen a muchos en la justicia serán como las estrellas por toda la eternidad.

And those that understand shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and those that teach righteousness to the multitude as the stars in perpetual eternity.

4 P ero tú, Daniel, mantén estas palabras en secreto y sella el libro hasta el tiempo del fin. Muchos correrán de un lado para otro, y la ciencia irá en aumento.»

But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end: many shall pass by, and knowledge shall be multiplied.

5 Y o, Daniel, me fijé y vi a otros dos hombres que estaban en pie a la orilla del río, uno en un lado, y el otro en el lado opuesto.

¶ Then I Daniel looked, and, behold, another two who stood, one on this side of the bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river.

6 U no de ellos le dijo al varón vestido de lino, que estaba sobre las aguas del río: «¿Cuándo se cumplirán todos estos portentos?»

And one said to the Man clothed in linens, who was upon the waters of the river, When shall be the end of these wonders?

7 Y vi que el que estaba vestido de lino y de pie junto a las aguas del río, levantó hacia el cielo las dos manos y, jurando por el que vive por los siglos, dijo: «Pasarán un tiempo, más dos tiempos, y la mitad de un tiempo. Cuando la dispersión del poder del pueblo santo llegue a su fin, todas estas cosas se cumplirán.»

And I heard the Man clothed in linens, who was upon the waters of the river, who raised his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and swore by the living one in the ages that it shall be for a time, times, and a half; and when the scattering of the power of the holy people shall be finished, all these things shall be fulfilled.

8 Y o pude oír esto, pero no lo entendí, así que dije: «Mi señor, ¿qué fin tendrá todo esto?»

And I heard, but I did not understand; then I said, O my Lord, what is the fulfillment of these things?

9 É l respondió: «Vamos, Daniel; estas palabras están cerradas y selladas hasta el tiempo del fin.

And he said, Go thy way, Daniel, for these words are closed up and sealed until the time of the fulfillment.

10 M uchos serán limpiados, emblanquecidos y purificados, pero los impíos procederán con impiedad, y ninguno de ellos entenderá esto, pero los entendidos si lo comprenderán.

Many shall be purified and made white and purged, but the wicked shall get worse; and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand.

11 D esde el momento en que sea suspendido el sacrificio continuo hasta la abominación desoladora, pasarán mil doscientos noventa días.

And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away until the abomination of desolation, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.

12 B ienaventurado el que espere y llegue a mil trescientos treinta y cinco días.

Blessed is he that waits and comes unto one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days.

13 P ero tú, sigue hasta el fin. Cuando llegue el fin del tiempo, reposarás y te levantarás para recibir lo que te corresponde recibir.»

And thou shall go to the end and shalt rest, and thou shalt raise up in thy lot at the end of the days.
