1 E zequías tenía veinticinco años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó en Jerusalén veintinueve años. Su madre se llamaba Abías, y era hija de Zacarías.

¶ Hezekiah began to reign when he was twenty-five years old, and he reigned twenty-nine years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Abijah, the daughter of Zechariah.

2 Y Ezequías hizo lo recto a los ojos del Señor, tal y como lo había hecho David, su padre. Ezequías restablece el culto del templo

And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that David, his father, had done.

3 E n el mes primero del primer año de su reinado, Ezequías abrió las puertas del templo del Señor, y las reparó.

In the first year of his reign, in the first month, he opened the doors of the house of the LORD and repaired them.

4 C onvocó a los sacerdotes y levitas, los reunió en la plaza oriental,

And he brought in the priests and the Levites and gathered them together into the east plaza

5 y les dijo: «¡Escúchenme, levitas! Santifíquense ahora, y santifiquen el templo del Señor, el Dios de sus padres. Saquen del santuario toda impureza,

and said unto them, Hear me, ye Levites, sanctify now yourselves, and ye shall sanctify the house of the LORD God of your fathers and carry forth the filthiness out of the sanctuary.

6 p orque nuestros padres se han rebelado; han hecho lo malo a los ojos del Señor nuestro Dios, pues lo han abandonado; se han apartado del tabernáculo del Señor, y le han dado la espalda.

For our fathers have rebelled and done that which was evil in the eyes of the LORD our God, for they have forsaken him, and have turned away their faces from the habitation of the LORD and turned their backs.

7 ¡ Hasta llegaron a cerrar las puertas del atrio, y apagaron las lámparas! ¡No quemaron incienso en el santuario, ni ofrecieron holocaustos al Dios de Israel!

They even shut up the doors of the porch and put out the lamps and have not burned incense nor offered burnt offerings in the sanctuary unto the God of Israel.

8 P or eso la ira del Señor ha venido sobre Judá y Jerusalén, y los ha entregado a la confusión, a ser objeto de maldición y de burla, como ahora pueden ver.

Therefore, the wrath of the LORD has come upon Judah and Jerusalem, and he has delivered them to trouble, to astonishment, and to hissing, as ye see with your eyes.

9 ¡ Miren a nuestros padres, muertos a filo de espada! ¡Por eso nuestros hijos y nuestras hijas, y hasta nuestras mujeres, han ido al cautiverio!

For, behold, our fathers have fallen by the sword, and our sons and our daughters and our wives are in captivity for this.

10 P ero yo he decidido hacer un pacto con el Señor, el Dios de Israel, para que aparte de nosotros el ardor de su ira.

Now it is in my heart to make a covenant with the LORD God of Israel that his fierce wrath may turn away from us.

11 N o se engañen, hijos míos, que el Señor los ha escogido para que estén en su presencia y le sirvan, y sean sus ministros y le quemen incienso.»

My sons, do not deceive yourselves, for the LORD has chosen you to stand before him, to serve him, and that ye should be his ministers and burn incense unto him.

12 D e los hijos de Coat se dispusieron a servir los levitas Majat hijo de Amasay y Joel hijo de Azarías. De los hijos de Merari: Cis hijo de Abdi y Azarías hijo de Yalelel. De los hijos de Gersón: Yoaj hijo de Zima y Edén hijo de Yoaj.

¶ Then the Levites arose, Mahath, the son of Amasai, and Joel, the son of Azariah, of the sons of Kohath; and of the sons of Merari, Kish, the son of Abdi, and Azariah, the son of Jehalelel; and of the sons of Gershon; Joah, the son of Zimmah, and Eden, the son of Joah;

13 D e los hijos de Elisafán: Simerí y Yeguiel. De los hijos de Asaf: Zacarías y Matanías.

and of the sons of Elizaphan; Shimri and Jeiel; and of the sons of Asaph; Zechariah and Mattaniah;

14 D e los hijos de Hemán: Yejiel y Simey. De los hijos de Jedutún: Semaías y Uziel.

and of the sons of Heman; Jehiel and Shimei; and of the sons of Jeduthun; Shemaiah and Uzziel.

15 É stos reunieron a sus parientes, se santificaron y entraron para limpiar el templo del Señor, conforme a las órdenes del rey y las palabras del Señor.

And they gathered their brethren and sanctified themselves and entered in, according to the commandment of the king, by the words of the LORD, to cleanse the house of the LORD.

16 L os sacerdotes que entraron a limpiar el templo del Señor sacaron todas las impurezas que hallaron allí dentro, y las arrojaron al atrio del templo del Señor; de allí, los levitas las arrojaron al torrente de Cedrón.

And the priests went into the inner part of the house of the LORD, to cleanse it, and brought out all the uncleanness that they found in the temple of the LORD into the court of the house of the LORD. And the Levites took it, to carry it out abroad into the Brook Kidron.

17 C omenzaron a santificarse el día primero del mes primero, a los ocho días del mismo mes fueron al pórtico del Señor, y ocho días después habían santificado el templo del Señor. El día dieciséis del mes primero habían terminado.

Now they began to sanctify on the first day of the first month, and on the eighth day of the month they came to the porch of the LORD; and they sanctified the house of the LORD in eight days; and in the sixteenth day of the first month they finished.

18 E ntonces se presentaron ante el rey Ezequías y le dijeron: «Ya hemos limpiado todo el templo del Señor, el altar del holocausto, y todos sus utensilios, y también la mesa de la proposición con todos sus utensilios.

Then they went in to Hezekiah, the king, and said, We have cleansed all the house of the LORD and the altar of burnt offering, with all its vessels, and the showbread table with all its vessels.

19 H emos preparado y santificado igualmente todos los utensilios que, en su infidelidad, había desechado el rey Ajaz durante su reinado, y aquí están ya, ante el altar del Señor.»

Likewise we have prepared and sanctified all the vessels, which King Ahaz in his reign cast away in his transgression, and, behold, they are before the altar of the LORD.

20 E ntonces el rey Ezequías se levantó por la mañana y reunió a los principales de la ciudad, y subió al templo del Señor.

¶ Then Hezekiah, the king, rose early and gathered the rulers of the city and went up to the house of the LORD.

21 A llí Ezequías ordenó a los sacerdotes descendientes de Aarón que ofrecieran sobre el altar del Señor siete novillos, siete carneros, siete corderos y siete machos cabríos, para la expiación del reino, del santuario y de Judá.

And they offered seven bullocks and seven rams and seven lambs and seven he goats, for the sin of the kingdom and of the sanctuary and of Judah. And he commanded the priests, the sons of Aaron, to offer them on the altar of the LORD.

22 L os novillos fueron sacrificados, y los sacerdotes recogieron la sangre y la esparcieron sobre el altar; luego mataron los carneros y esparcieron la sangre sobre el altar, y lo mismo hicieron con los corderos.

So they killed the bullocks, and the priests received the blood and sprinkled it on the altar; likewise, when they had killed the rams, they sprinkled the blood upon the altar; they also killed the lambs, and they sprinkled the blood upon the altar.

23 D espués acercaron al rey y a la multitud los machos cabríos para la expiación, y pusieron sobre ellos sus manos.

And they brought forth the he goats of the sin before the king and the congregation, and they laid their hands upon them;

24 L os sacerdotes los mataron, y con la sangre de ellos hicieron la ofrenda de expiación sobre el altar para reconciliar a todo Israel, pues por todo Israel mandó el rey que se hicieran el holocausto y la expiación.

and the priests killed them, and they removed the sin with their blood upon the altar, to reconcile all Israel, for the king commanded that the burnt offering and the atonement for sin should be offered for all Israel.

25 E zequías también puso en el templo del Señor levitas con címbalos, salterios y arpas, en obediencia al mandamiento de David, de Gad, vidente del rey, y del profeta Natán, porque ese mandamiento procedía del Señor por medio de sus profetas.

And he set the Levites in the house of the LORD with cymbals, with psalteries, and with harps, according to the commandment of David, and of Gad, the king’s seer, and of Nathan, the prophet, for that commandment was by the hand of the LORD, by the hand of his prophets.

26 L os levitas tenían los instrumentos de David, y los sacerdotes, las trompetas.

And the Levites stood with the instruments of David, and the priests with the trumpets.

27 E ntonces Ezequías ordenó ofrecer el holocausto en el altar; y cuando dio comienzo el holocausto, dio también comienzo el cántico del Señor, con las trompetas y los instrumentos del rey David de Israel.

Then Hezekiah commanded to offer the burnt offering upon the altar. And when the burnt offering began, the song of the LORD began also with the trumpets and with the instruments of David, king of Israel.

28 T oda la multitud adoraba, los cantores cantaban, y los trompeteros hacían sonar las trompetas. Todo esto duró hasta que el holocausto se consumió.

And all the congregation worshipped, and the singers sang, and the trumpets sounded; and all this continued until the burnt offering was finished.

29 Y cuando terminaron de ofrecer el holocausto, el rey se inclinó y adoró, y lo mismo hicieron todos los que estaban con él.

And when they had finished offering, the king and all that were present with him bowed themselves and worshipped.

30 E ntonces el rey Ezequías y los príncipes dijeron a los levitas que alabaran al Señor con las palabras de David y del vidente Asaf, y ellos alabaron con gran alegría, y se inclinaron y adoraron.

Moreover, Hezekiah, the king, and the princes commanded the Levites to sing praise unto the LORD with the words of David and of Asaph, the seer. And they sang praises with gladness, and they bowed down and worshipped.

31 E ntonces Ezequías dijo: «Ahora ustedes se han consagrado al Señor. Acérquense, pues, y presenten sacrificios y alabanzas en el templo del Señor.» La multitud presentó sacrificios y alabanzas, y todos los de corazón generoso ofrecieron holocaustos.

Then Hezekiah answered and said, Now ye have consecrated yourselves unto the LORD, come near and bring sacrifices and praises in the house of the LORD. And the congregation brought in sacrifices and praises, and as many as were of a free heart burnt offerings.

32 E l número total de los holocaustos que ofreció la congregación fue de setenta bueyes, cien carneros y doscientos corderos, todo para el holocausto del Señor.

And the number of the burnt offerings, which the congregation brought, was seventy bullocks, one hundred rams, and two hundred lambs; all these were for the burnt offering of the LORD.

33 L as ofrendas fueron seiscientos bueyes y tres mil ovejas.

And the consecrated things were six hundred oxen and three thousand sheep.

34 P ero los sacerdotes eran pocos, y no alcanzaban a desollar los holocaustos, así que sus parientes levitas los ayudaron hasta terminar la obra y hasta que los demás sacerdotes se santificaron. Y es que el corazón de los levitas fue más recto para santificarse que el de los sacerdotes.

But the priests were too few so that they could not flay all the burnt offerings; therefore, their brethren, the Levites, helped them until the work was ended and until the other priests had sanctified themselves, for the Levites were more upright in heart to sanctify themselves than the priests.

35 Y así, hubo abundancia de holocaustos, con la grasa de las ofrendas de paz y las libaciones para cada holocausto, y el servicio del templo del Señor quedó restablecido.

And also the burnt offerings were in abundance, with the fat of the peace offerings and the drink offerings for every burnt offering. So the service of the house of the LORD was set in order.

36 Y Ezequías se regocijó con todo el pueblo de que Dios hubiera preparado el pueblo, porque todo fue hecho con rapidez.

And Hezekiah rejoiced, and all the people, that God had prepared the people, for the thing was done suddenly.
