1 É stos son los descendientes de Esaú, que también es Edom:

¶ Now these are the generations of Esau, who is Edom.

2 É stas son las mujeres que Esaú tomó de las hijas de Canaán: Ada, hija de Elón el hitita; Aholibama, hija de Aná, el hijo de Sibón el jivita;

Esau took his wives of the daughters of Canaan: Adah the daughter of Elon, the Hittite; Aholibamah, the daughter of Anah, the daughter of Zibeon, the Hivite;

3 y Basemat, hija de Ismael y hermana de Nebayot.

and Bashemath, Ishmael’s daughter, sister of Nebajoth.

4 E l hijo que Ada le dio a Esaú fue Elifaz; el hijo que le dio Basemat fue Reuel.

And Adah bore to Esau Eliphaz, and Bashemath bore Reuel,

5 A holibama le dio a Jeús, Jalán y Coré. Éstos son los hijos que le nacieron a Esaú en la tierra de Canaán.

and Aholibamah bore Jeush and Jaalam and Korah: these are the sons of Esau, who were born unto him in the land of Canaan.

6 E saú tomó a sus mujeres, sus hijos y sus hijas, y a todas las personas de su casa, y sus ganados y todas sus bestias, y todo cuanto había adquirido en la tierra de Canaán, y se fue a otra tierra. Así se separó de su hermano Jacob.

And Esau took his wives and his sons and his daughters and all the persons of his house and his cattle and all his beasts and all his substance, which he had got in the land of Canaan, and went into another country from the face of his brother Jacob.

7 Y es que no podían habitar juntos porque los bienes de ellos eran muchos; por causa de sus ganados la tierra en donde vivían no los podía sostener,

For their riches were more than that they might dwell together, and the land in which they were strangers could not bear them because of their livestock.

8 a sí que Esaú habitó en el monte de Seir. Esaú es también Edom.

Thus dwelt Esau in Mount Seir; Esau is Edom.

9 É stas son las generaciones de Esaú, padre de Edom, en el monte de Seir.

¶ And these are the lineages of Esau, the father of the Edomites in Mount Seir.

10 É stos son los nombres de los hijos de Esaú: Elifaz, hijo de Ada, mujer de Esaú; Reuel, hijo de Basemat, mujer de Esaú.

These are the names of Esau’s sons: Eliphaz, the son of Adah, the wife of Esau; Reuel, the son of Bashemath, the wife of Esau.

11 L os hijos de Elifaz fueron Temán, Omar, Sefó, Gatán y Cenaz.

And the sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam, and Kenaz.

12 T imna fue concubina de Elifaz hijo de Esaú, y el hijo que ella le dio fue Amalec. Éstos son los hijos de Ada, mujer de Esaú.

And Timna was concubine to Eliphaz, Esau’s son, and she bore to Eliphaz Amalek: these are the sons of Adah, Esau’s wife.

13 L os hijos de Reuel fueron Najat, Zeraj, Samá y Miza; éstos son los hijos de Basemat, mujer de Esaú.

And these are the sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah; these were the sons of Bashemath, Esau’s wife.

14 L os hijos que dio a luz Aholibama, mujer de Esaú e hija de Aná, que era hijo de Sibón, fueron: Jeús, Jalán y Coré, hijos de Esaú.

And these were the sons of Aholibamah, the daughter of Anah, the daughter of Zibeon, Esau’s wife: she gave birth unto Esau Jeush, Jaalam, and Korah.

15 L os jefes de entre los hijos de Esaú fueron: Los hijos de Elifaz, el primogénito de Esaú: los jefes Temán, Omar, Sefó, Cenaz,

These are dukes of the sons of Esau. The sons of Eliphaz, the firstborn son of Esau: duke Teman, duke Omar, duke Zepho, duke Kenaz,

16 C oré, Gatán y Amalec. Éstos son los jefes de Elifaz en la tierra de Edom; éstos fueron los hijos de Ada.

duke Korah, duke Gatam, and duke Amalek: these are the dukes that came of Eliphaz in the land of Edom; these are the sons of Adah.

17 Y éstos son los hijos de Reuel, hijo de Esaú: los jefes Najat, Zeraj, Samá y Miza; éstos son los jefes de la línea de Reuel en la tierra de Edom; estos hijos vienen de Basemat, mujer de Esaú.

And these are the sons of Reuel, Esau’s son; duke Nahath, duke Zerah, duke Shammah, duke Mizzah: these are the dukes that came of Reuel in the land of Edom; these are the sons of Bashemath Esau’s wife.

18 Y éstos son los hijos de Aholibama, mujer de Esaú: los jefes Jeús, Jalán y Coré; éstos fueron los jefes que descienden de Aholibama, mujer de Esaú e hija de Aná.

And these are the sons of Aholibamah, Esau’s wife: duke Jeush, duke Jaalam, duke Korah; these were the dukes that came of Aholibamah the daughter of Anah, Esau’s wife.

19 É stos son los hijos de Esaú, y sus jefes. Esaú es también Edom.

These are the sons of Esau, who is Edom, and these are their dukes.

20 É stos son los hijos de Seir el horeo, que habitaban en aquella tierra: Lotán, Sobal, Sibón, Aná,

¶ These are the sons of Seir, the Horite, who inhabited the land: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah,

21 D isón, Eser y Disán; éstos son los jefes de los horeos, hijos de Seir, en la tierra de Edom.

Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan; these are the dukes of the Horites, the sons of Seir in the land of Edom.

22 L os hijos de Lotán fueron Jorí y Hemán; Timna fue hermana de Lotán.

And the sons of Lotan were Hori and Hemam, and Lotan’s sister was Timna.

23 L os hijos de Sobal fueron Alván, Manajat, Ebal, Sefo y Onam.

And the sons of Shobal were these: Alvan, Manahath, Ebal, Shepho, and Onam.

24 L os hijos de Sibón fueron Ayá y Aná. Este Aná es el que halló manantiales en el desierto, mientras cuidaba los asnos de Sibón, su padre.

And these are the sons of Zibeon: both Ajah and Anah; this was that Anah that invented mules in the wilderness as he fed the asses of Zibeon his father.

25 L os hijos de Aná fueron Disón y Aholibama, hija de Aná.

And the children of Anah were these: Dishon and Aholibamah the daughter of Anah.

26 L os hijos de Disón fueron: Hemdán, Esbán, Itrán y Querán.

And these are the sons of Dishon: Hemdan, Eshban, Ithran, and Cheran.

27 L os hijos de Eser fueron: Bilán, Zaván y Acán.

The sons of Ezer are these: Bilhan, Zaavan, and Akan.

28 L os hijos de Disán fueron: Uz y Arán.

The sons of Dishan are these: Uz and Aran.

29 L os jefes de los horeos fueron: los jefes Lotán, Sobal, Sibón, Aná,

These are the dukes that came of the Horites: duke Lotan, duke Shobal, duke Zibeon, duke Anah,

30 D isón, Eser y Disán. Éstos fueron los jefes de los horeos en la tierra de Seir, según sus mandos.

duke Dishon, duke Ezer, duke Dishan; these are the dukes that came of Hori; by their dukedoms in the land of Seir.

31 L os reyes que reinaron en la tierra de Edom, antes de que los hijos de Israel tuvieran rey, fueron éstos:

¶ And these are the kings that reigned in the land of Edom before any king reigned over the sons of Israel.

32 B ela hijo de Beor, rey de Edom. El nombre de su ciudad fue Dinaba.

And Bela, the son of Beor, reigned in Edom, and the name of his city was Dinhabah.

33 C uando murió Bela, reinó en su lugar Jobab hijo de Zeraj, de Bosra.

And Bela died, and Jobab, the son of Zerah of Bozrah, reigned in his stead.

34 C uando murió Jobab, reinó en su lugar Jusán, de la tierra de Temán.

And Jobab died, and Husham of the land of Temani reigned in his stead.

35 C uando murió Jusán, reinó en su lugar Hadad hijo de Bedad, el que derrotó a Madián en el campo de Moab. El nombre de su ciudad fue Avit.

And Husham died, and Hadad, the son of Bedad, who smote Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his stead; and the name of his city was Avith.

36 C uando murió Hadad, reinó en su lugar Samla, de Masreca.

And Hadad died, and Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his stead.

37 C uando murió Samla, reinó en su lugar Saúl, de Rejobot, a la orilla del Éufrates.

And Samlah died, and Saul of Rehoboth by the river reigned in his stead.

38 C uando murió Saúl, reinó en su lugar Baal Janán, hijo de Acbor.

And Saul died, and Baalhanan, the son of Achbor, reigned in his stead.

39 C uando murió Baal Janán hijo de Acbor, reinó en su lugar Hadar. El nombre de su ciudad fue Pau; el nombre de su mujer fue Mehitabel hija de Matred, hija de Mezab.

And Baalhanan, the son of Achbor, died, and Hadar reigned in his stead; and the name of his city was Pau; and his wife’s name was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezahab.

40 É stos son los nombres de los jefes de Esaú por sus linajes, lugares y nombres: Timna, Alva, Jetet,

And these are the names of the dukes that came of Esau, according to their families, after their places, by their names: duke Timnah, duke Alvah, duke Jetheth,

41 A holibama, Elá, Pinón,

duke Aholibamah, duke Elah, duke Pinon,

42 C enaz, Temán, Mibsar,

duke Kenaz, duke Teman, duke Mibzar,

43 M agdiel e Iram. Éstos fueron los jefes de Edom según su lugar de residencia en la tierra de su posesión. Edom es el mismo Esaú, padre de los edomitas.

duke Magdiel, duke Iram: these were the dukes of Edom, according to their habitations in the land of their possession. This is the Esau, the father of Edom.
