1 E l día primero del mes duodécimo del año duodécimo, la palabra del Señor vino a mí, y me dijo:

¶ And it came to pass in the twelfth year, in the twelfth month, in the first day of the month, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

2 « Hijo de hombre, entona un lamento por el faraón, el rey de Egipto, que diga: »Entre las naciones, te pareces a un león; en los mares, eres semejante a un dragón. Con las patas enturbias el agua y secas los ríos, mientras chapoteas en sus riberas.»

Son of man, raise up lamentations upon Pharaoh king of Egypt and say unto him, Thou art like a young lion of the nations, and thou art as the whale in the seas, that dost dry up thy rivers, and trouble the waters with thy feet, and foul their streams.

3 A sí ha dicho Dios el Señor: «Voy a lanzar mi red sobre ti, y con ella muchos ejércitos te sacarán del agua.

Thus hath the Lord GOD said: I will therefore spread out my net over thee with a company of many peoples, and they shall bring thee up in my net.

4 T e pondré en tierra, te tenderé sobre el suelo, y dejaré que todas las aves del cielo se posen sobre ti. ¡Contigo saciaré el hambre de todas las fieras salvajes!

Then I will leave thee upon the land; I will cast thee forth upon the open field and will cause all the fowls of the heaven to remain upon thee, and I will fill the beasts of the whole earth with thee.

5 P ondré tus restos sobre los montes, y llenaré los valles con tus cadáveres.

And I will lay thy flesh upon the mountains and fill the valleys with thy height.

6 C on tu sangre regaré la tierra donde ahora nadas, hasta la cumbre los montes, y con ella se llenarán los arroyos.

I will also water with thy blood the land in which thou dost swim, even to the mountains; and the rivers shall be full of thee.

7 C uando te hayas consumido, haré que se oscurezcan los cielos y se eclipsen las estrellas; cubriré de nubes el sol, y la luna dejará de brillar.

And when thou art dead, I will cover the heavens and make the stars thereof dark; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give her light.

8 P or tu culpa haré que se apaguen todos los astros del cielo, y cubriré de tinieblas tu país. Palabra de Dios el Señor.

All the bright lights of heaven I will make dark because of thee and set darkness upon thy land, said the Lord GOD.

9 » Cuando lleve a tu pueblo al cautiverio entre las naciones, a países que no conocías, haré que el corazón de muchos pueblos se entristezca.

I will also make the hearts of many peoples sad when I shall bring thy destruction upon the Gentiles, into the countries which thou hast not known.

10 C uando por tu culpa haga yo que mi espada resplandezca delante de sus rostros, dejaré atónitos a muchos pueblos; el día que caigas, los reyes de esos pueblos quedarán grandemente horrorizados, y todos ellos se sobresaltarán a cada instante.»

And I will make many peoples amazed at thee and their kings shall be horribly afraid because of thee, when I shall brandish my sword before them; and they shall tremble at every moment, every man for his own life, in the day of thy fall.

11 S í, así ha dicho Dios el Señor: «Sobre ti va a caer la espada del rey de Babilonia.

For thus hath the Lord GOD said: The sword of the king of Babylon shall come upon thee.

12 V oy a hacer que tu pueblo caiga bajo la espada de poderosos guerreros. Todos ellos serán soldados de naciones poderosas, y acabarán con la soberbia de Egipto. ¡Todos tus ejércitos serán derrotados!

By the swords of the mighty I will cause thy people to fall; they shall all be the strong of the Gentiles and they shall destroy the pride of Egypt, and all the multitude thereof shall be undone.

13 N unca más ningún pie humano ni pezuña animal volverá a enturbiar las aguas de tus ríos, porque yo voy a destruir a todos tus ganados.

I will also destroy all the beasts thereof from upon the many waters; neither shall the foot of man, nor the hoofs of beasts foul them any more.

14 D espués de eso dejaré que las aguas se asienten, para que sus ríos vuelvan a correr como el aceite. Palabra de Dios el Señor.

Then I will make their waters deepen and cause their channels to run like oil, said the Lord GOD.

15 » Cuando yo haya asolado la tierra de Egipto y acabado con todos sus habitantes, y la tierra quede despojada de todo lo que en ella había, sabrán que yo soy el Señor.

When I shall make the land of Egypt desolate and the fullness of the land shall be taken away when I shall smite all those that dwell therein, then they shall know that I am the LORD.

16 » Este lamento lo cantarán las hijas de las naciones. Lo cantarán por Egipto y por todos sus ejércitos.» Palabra de Dios el Señor.

This is the lamentation, and they shall sing it; the daughters of the Gentiles shall sing it: they shall lament over Egypt and over all her multitude, said the Lord GOD.

17 E l día quince del mes duodécimo del año duodécimo, la palabra del Señor vino a mí, y me dijo:

¶ It also came to pass in the twelfth year, in the fifteenth day of the month, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

18 « Hijo de hombre, entona un lamento por el ejército de Egipto. Arrójalo a lo profundo de la tierra, junto con los que bajan al sepulcro, y con él arroja a las hijas de las naciones poderosas.

Son of man, lament over the multitude of Egypt and cast him down and the habitations of the strong Gentiles into the lower parts of the earth with those that go down into the grave.

19 S e creía muy hermoso, pero ahora ha caído y yace junto con los incircuncisos.

Because thou art so beautiful, go down, and be laid with the uncircumcised.

20 H a caído entre los que murieron a filo de espada, pues a la espada fue entregado, junto con todos sus ejércitos.

They shall fall in the midst of those that are slain by the sword; he is delivered to the sword; bring him and all his peoples.

21 A llá, en el sepulcro, hablarán de ellos los guerreros más aguerridos, y también sus aliados, los cuales quedaron tendidos junto con los incircuncisos que murieron a filo de espada.

The strong among the mighty shall speak to him out of the midst of Sheol with those that help him: they are gone down; they lie with the uncircumcised, slain by the sword.

22 » Allí está Asiria con todo su ejército. A su alrededor están los sepulcros de todos ellos, pues cayeron a filo de espada.

Asshur is there and all his company; his graves are about him; all of them slain, fallen by the sword:

23 T odos ellos sembraron el terror en la tierra de los vivientes, pero ahora sus sepulcros están al lado de la gran fosa; ¡su ejército es un conjunto de sepulcros!

whose graves are set in the sides of the pit, and his company is round about his grave; all of them slain, fallen by the sword, which caused terror in the land of the living.

24 » Allí está Elam con todo su ejército. A su lado están los sepulcros de todos ellos, pues cayeron a filo de espada. Sembraron el terror en la tierra de los vivientes, pero bajaron incircuncisos a lo más profundo de la tierra; ¡se llevaron su confusión con los que descienden al sepulcro!

There is Elam and all his multitude round about his grave, all of them slain, fallen by the sword, which are gone down uncircumcised into the lowest parts of the earth because they spread their terror in the land of the living; yet they have borne their shame with those that go down to the grave.

25 E ntre los muertos yace tendido con todo su ejército, rodeado de sepulcros, todos ellos de incircuncisos muertos a filo de espada. Sembraron el terror en la tierra de los vivientes, pero se llevaron su confusión con los que descienden al sepulcro. Y allí quedó, entre los muertos.

They have set him a bed in the midst of the slain with all his multitude: his graves are round about him: all of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword because they spread their terror in the land of the living, yet they have borne their shame with those that go down to the pit; he was put in the midst of the dead.

26 » Allí están Mesec y Tubal, con todos sus ejércitos. A su lado están los sepulcros de todos ellos, de incircuncisos muertos a filo de espada, porque sembraron el terror en la tierra de los vivientes.

There is Meshech, Tubal, and all his multitude; his graves are round about him, all of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword because they had caused their terror in the land of the living.

27 N o yacen con los guerreros incircuncisos que murieron y descendieron al sepulcro con sus armas de guerra, y cuyas espadas fueron puestas debajo de su cabeza, pero sus pecados recaerán sobre sus huesos, porque estos guerreros sembraron el terror en la tierra de los vivientes.

And they shall not lie with the mighty that are fallen of the uncircumcised, who are gone down to Sheol with their weapons of war: and they have laid their swords under their heads, but their sins shall be upon their bones because they were the terror of the mighty in the land of the living.

28 Y tú también, Egipto, quedarás sin vida entre los incircuncisos; ¡quedarás tendido entre los que murieron a filo de espada!

Yea, thou shalt be broken in the midst of the uncircumcised and shalt lie with those that are slain with the sword.

29 » Allí está Edom, con sus reyes y todos sus príncipes. Con todo su poderío, quedaron tendidos entre los que murieron a filo de espada, y ahora yacen entre los incircuncisos que descienden al sepulcro.

There is Edom, his kings, and all his princes, which with their might are laid with those that were slain by the sword; they shall lie with the uncircumcised and with those that go down to the pit.

30 » Allí están todos los príncipes del norte, y todos los sidonios. Aunque sembraron el terror, ahora yacen entre los muertos, entre los incircuncisos que murieron a filo de espada. Avergonzados de su poderío, ahora comparten su confusión con los que descienden al sepulcro.

There are the princes of the north, all of them, and all the Zidonians, who are gone down with the slain with their terror, ashamed of their might; and they lie uncircumcised with those that are slain by the sword and bear their shame with those that go down to the pit.

31 » Cuando el faraón vea a todos estos, se consolará de haber perdido a todos sus ejércitos, pues el faraón y todos sus ejércitos morirán a filo de espada. Palabra de Dios el Señor.

Pharaoh shall see them and shall be comforted over all his multitude, even Pharaoh and all his army slain by the sword, said the Lord GOD.

32 » Aunque el faraón y todo su ejército sembraron el terror en la tierra de los vivientes, también ellos quedarán tendidos, entre los incircuncisos que murieron a filo de espada.» Palabra de Dios el Señor.

Because I have spread my terror in the land of the living, he shall also lay in the midst of the uncircumcised with those that are slain with the sword, even Pharaoh and all his multitude, said the Lord GOD.
