1 P ero Dios se acordó de Noé, y de todos los animales y bestias que estaban en el arca con él. Entonces Dios hizo pasar sobre la tierra un viento, y las aguas disminuyeron.

¶ And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the animals that were with him in the ark; and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters ceased;

2 S e cerraron las fuentes del abismo y las cataratas de los cielos, y se detuvo la lluvia de los cielos.

the fountains also of the deep and the windows of the heavens were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained;

3 L as aguas sobre la tierra fueron decreciendo gradualmente, y al cabo de ciento cincuenta días se retiraron,

and the waters turned back and forth upon the earth, and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated.

4 y a los diecisiete días del mes séptimo el arca se posó sobre los montes de Ararat.

¶ And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.

5 L as aguas siguieron bajando hasta el mes décimo, y el día primero del mes décimo quedaron al descubierto las cimas de los montes.

And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month; in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, the tops of the mountains were seen.

6 A l cabo de cuarenta días Noé abrió la ventana del arca que había hecho,

¶ And it came to pass at the end of forty days that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made,

7 y envió un cuervo, el cual salió y estuvo yendo y viniendo, hasta que las aguas sobre la tierra se fueron secando.

and he sent forth a raven, which went forth to and fro until the waters were dried up from off the earth.

8 T ambién dejó salir una paloma, para ver si las aguas se habían retirado de la faz de la tierra,

Also he sent forth a dove from him to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground,

9 p ero al no hallar la paloma donde asentarse, volvió al arca, donde estaba él, porque las aguas aún cubrían la faz de toda la tierra. Entonces Noé extendió la mano y, tomándola, la hizo entrar consigo en el arca.

but the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into the ark, for the waters were still upon the face of the whole earth. Then he put forth his hand and took her and pulled her in unto him into the ark.

10 E speró aún otros siete días, y volvió a enviar a la paloma fuera del arca,

And he waited yet another seven days, and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark,

11 y al atardecer la paloma volvió a donde él estaba, pero ya traía en el pico una hoja de olivo. Así entendió Noé que las aguas se habían retirado de sobre la tierra.

and the dove came in to him in the evening, and, behold, in her mouth was an olive leaf plucked off, so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth.

12 T odavía esperó siete días más, y volvió a enviar a la paloma, pero ésta ya no volvió a donde él estaba.

And he stayed yet other seven days and sent forth the dove, which returned not again unto him any more.

13 E l día primero del mes primero del año seiscientos uno de Noé, se secaron las aguas sobre la tierra. Entonces Noé quitó la cubierta del arca, y miró, y resultó que la superficie de la tierra se estaba secando,

¶ And it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year of Noah, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth, and Noah removed the covering of the ark and looked and, behold, the face of the ground was dry.

14 y a los veintisiete días del mes segundo la tierra ya estaba seca.

And in the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dried.

15 E ntonces Dios habló con Noé, y le dijo:

¶ And God spoke unto Noah, saying,

16 « Sal del arca, tú y tu mujer, y tus hijos, y las mujeres de tus hijos, que están contigo.

Go forth from the ark, thou and thy wife and thy sons, and thy sons’ wives with thee.

17 S aca a todos los animales que están contigo; a todo ser vivo: aves y bestias, y todo reptil que se arrastra sobre la tierra, y pueblen la tierra. ¡Reprodúzcanse y multiplíquense sobre la tierra!»

Bring forth with thee every animal that is with thee, of all flesh, both of fowl and of beasts and of every creeping thing that moves upon the earth, that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth.

18 S alió entonces Noé con sus hijos, su mujer, y las mujeres de sus hijos.

And Noah went forth and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him;

19 T ambién salieron del arca todos los animales, y todo reptil y toda ave, y todo lo que se mueve sobre la tierra, según sus especies.

all the animals, every creature and every fowl and whatever moves upon the earth after their kinds went forth out of the ark.

20 N oé edificó un altar al Señor y, tomando de todo animal limpio y de toda ave limpia, ofreció en el altar un holocausto.

¶ And Noah built an altar unto the LORD and took of every clean animal and of every clean fowl and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

21 A l percibir el Señor ese grato olor, dijo en su corazón: «No volveré a maldecir la tierra por causa del hombre, porque desde su juventud las intenciones del corazón del hombre son malas. Y tampoco volveré a destruir a todo ser vivo, como lo he hecho.

And the LORD smelled a savour of rest, and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake, for the intent of man’s heart is evil from his childhood; neither will I again smite any more every living thing as I have done.

22 M ientras la tierra permanezca, no faltarán la sementera y la siega, ni el frío y el calor, ni el verano y el invierno, ni el día y la noche.»

While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
