1 P or siempre alabaré la misericordia del Señor; de una generación a otra, mis labios exaltarán tu fidelidad.

¶ I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever; with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.

2 P or siempre afirmaré que tu misericordia se mantendrá firme en los cielos, y que en ellos se afirmará tu verdad.

For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever in the heavens; in them thou shalt establish thy truth.

3 T u dijiste: «He hecho un pacto con mi escogido. A mi siervo David le hice este juramento:

I have made a covenant with my chosen; I have sworn unto David my slave, saying,

4 “ Confirmaré tu descendencia para siempre, y afirmaré tu trono por todas las generaciones.”»

Thy seed will I establish for ever and build up thy throne to all generations. Selah.

5 S eñor, los cielos celebran tus maravillas; la congregación de los santos proclama tu verdad.

¶ And the heavens shall praise thy wonder, O LORD, thy truth also in the congregation of the saints.

6 ¿ Quién, Señor, se iguala a ti en los cielos? ¿Quién, Señor, se te compara entre los dioses?

For who in the heavens can be compared unto the LORD? who among the sons of the mighty can be likened unto the LORD?

7 ¡ Dios temible en el concilio de los santos! ¡Dios grande y terrible sobre cuantos lo rodean!

God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints and to be had in reverence of all those that are about him.

8 P oderoso Señor, Dios de los ejércitos, ¿Quién como tú? ¡Tu fidelidad te rodea!

O LORD God of the hosts, who is like unto thee? Strong JAH, compassed about with thy truth.

9 T ú dominas la violencia del mar; cuando sus ondas se agitan, tú las sosiegas.

Thou dost rule the raging of the sea: when its waves arise, thou dost still them.

10 T ú aplastaste a Rajab y lo heriste de muerte; con tu brazo poderoso dispersaste a tus enemigos.

Thou hast broken Egypt in pieces as one that is slain; thou hast scattered thine enemies with thy strong arm.

11 T uyos son los cielos, tuya también la tierra y el mundo y su plenitud, pues tú lo fundaste.

The heavens are thine, the earth also is thine: the world and its fullness, thou didst found.

12 T ú creaste el norte y el sur; los montes Tabor y Hermón alaban tu nombre.

Thou hast created the north and the south; Tabor and Hermon shall sing in thy name.

13 T uyo es el brazo poderoso; fuerte es tu mano, y exaltada tu diestra.

The mighty arm is thine; strong is thy hand, and high is thy right hand.

14 T u trono se basa en la justicia y el derecho; la misericordia y la verdad son tus heraldos.

Thy throne is composed of righteousness and judgment; mercy and truth go before thy face.

15 ¡ Dichoso el pueblo que sabe aclamarte, y que anda, Señor, a la luz de tu rostro.

¶ Happy are the people that know how to enter into joy; they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance.

16 E n tu nombre se alegrará todo el día, y en tu justicia será enaltecido.

In thy name shall they rejoice each day; and in thy righteousness shall they be exalted.

17 T ú eres la gloria de nuestro poder; por tu buena voluntad acrecientas nuestra fuerza.

For thou art the glory of their strength, and in thy favour our horn shall be exalted.

18 T ú, Señor, eres nuestro escudo; tú, Santo de Israel, eres nuestro rey.

For the LORD is our shield, and the Holy One of Israel is our king.

19 E n una visión a tus santos, y dijiste: «He brindado mi apoyo a un guerrero; he escogido a un joven de mi pueblo.

¶ Then thou didst speak in vision to thy holy one and didst say, I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of my people.

20 H e encontrado a mi siervo David, y lo he ungido con mi santa unción.

I have found David my slave; I anointed him with the oil of my holiness,

21 M i mano estará siempre con él; mi brazo siempre lo fortalecerá.

with whom my hand shall be established; mine arm also shall strengthen him.

22 N o lo sorprenderá el enemigo, ni le hará daño ningún malvado;

The enemy shall not overcome him, nor the son of iniquity break him down.

23 m ás bien, él derrotará a sus enemigos y herirá de muerte a los que lo aborrecen.

But I will break down his foes before his face and smite those that hate him.

24 M i verdad y misericordia estarán con él, y su poder será exaltado en mi nombre.

But my truth and my mercy shall be with him, and in my name shall his horn be exalted.

25 C on su mano izquierda dominará sobre el mar, y con su mano derecha dominará sobre los ríos.

In the same manner I will set his hand also in the sea and his right hand in the rivers.

26 É l me dirá: “Tú eres mi padre. Eres mi Dios, la roca de mi salvación”,

He shall call me, Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my saving health.

27 y yo lo declararé mi primogénito, ¡el más excelso de los reyes de la tierra!

Also I will make him my firstborn, high above the kings of the earth.

28 S iempre seré con él misericordioso, y mi pacto con él se mantendrá firme.

I will keep my mercy for him for ever, and my covenant shall stand fast with him.

29 S u descendencia permanecerá para siempre, y su trono durará mientras el cielo exista.

I will also make his seed to endure for ever, and his throne as the days of the heavens.

30 » Pero si sus hijos se apartan de mi ley y no andan conforme a mis decretos,

If his sons forsake my law and do not walk in my judgments,

31 s i transgreden mis estatutos y no cumplen mis mandamientos,

if they profane my statutes and do not keep my commandments,

32 y o los castigaré por su rebelión; ¡los azotaré por sus iniquidades!

then I will visit their rebellion with the rod and their iniquity with stripes.

33 » Pero no apartaré de David mi misericordia, ni faltaré a mi verdad.

Nevertheless I will not take my mercy from him, neither will I falsify my truth.

34 N o me olvidaré de mi pacto, ni me retractaré de lo que he prometido.

I will not profane my covenant, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.

35 U na vez he jurado por mi santidad, y no le mentiré a David.

Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David.

36 S u descendencia permanecerá para siempre; su trono estará ante mí, como el sol;

His seed shall endure for ever and his throne as the sun before me.

37 f irme para siempre, como la luna; ¡como un testigo fiel en el cielo!»

It shall be established for ever as the moon and as a faithful witness in heaven. Selah.

38 ¡ Pero tú has rechazado a tu ungido! ¡Lo has menospreciado! ¡Te has enojado con él!

¶ But thou hast cast off and abhorred thine anointed; thou hast been wroth with him.

39 H as roto el pacto con tu siervo; ¡has echado por tierra su corona!

Thou hast made void the covenant of thy slave; thou hast profaned his crown by casting it to the ground.

40 H as derribado todas sus murallas; ¡has destruido sus fortalezas!

Thou hast broken down all his hedges; thou hast brought his strong holds to ruin.

41 T odos los que van por el camino lo saquean; los pueblos vecinos se burlan de él.

All that pass by the way spoil him; he is a reproach to his neighbours.

42 H as exaltado el poder de sus enemigos; has alegrado a todos sus adversarios.

Thou hast set up the right hand of his adversaries; thou hast made all his enemies to rejoice.

43 L e quitaste el filo a su espada, y no lo levantaste en la batalla.

Thou hast also blunted the edge of his sword and hast not made him to stand in the battle.

44 P usiste fin a su motivo de orgullo, y echaste por tierra su trono.

Thou hast made his clarity to cease and cast his throne down to the ground.

45 H as acortado los días de su vida, y lo has cubierto de vergüenza.

The days of his youth hast thou shortened; thou hast covered him with shame. Selah.

46 S eñor, ¿hasta cuándo seguirás escondido? ¿Arderá tu ira para siempre, como el fuego?

How long, O LORD? wilt thou hide thyself for ever? shall thy wrath burn like fire?

47 R ecuerda que mi vida es muy breve; ¿Por qué creaste tan frágil al género humano?

Remember how short my time is; why hast thou made all men subject to vanity?

48 ¿ Quién puede vivir sin ver la muerte? ¿Quién puede salvarse del poder del sepulcro?

What man is he that lives and shall not see death? shall he deliver his soul from the hand of Sheol? Selah.

49 S eñor, ¿dónde están tus misericordias de antaño, que una vez juraste a David por tu verdad?

Lord, where are thy former mercies, which thou didst sware unto David in thy truth?

50 ¡ Acuérdate, Señor, del oprobio de tus siervos, del oprobio de muchos pueblos, que llevo en el pecho!

Remember, Lord, the reproach of thy slaves; how I do bear in my bosom the reproach of many peoples,

51 T us enemigos, Señor, nos han deshonrado; ¡tus enemigos han deshonrado los pasos de tu ungido!

because thine enemies have dishonoured, O LORD; they have dishonoured the footsteps of thine anointed.

52 ¡ Bendito sea el Señor para siempre! ¡Amén, y Amén!
