1 ¶ I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever; with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.

Por siempre alabaré la misericordia del Señor; de una generación a otra, mis labios exaltarán tu fidelidad.

2 F or I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever in the heavens; in them thou shalt establish thy truth.

Por siempre afirmaré que tu misericordia se mantendrá firme en los cielos, y que en ellos se afirmará tu verdad.

3 I have made a covenant with my chosen; I have sworn unto David my slave, saying,

Tu dijiste: «He hecho un pacto con mi escogido. A mi siervo David le hice este juramento:

4 T hy seed will I establish for ever and build up thy throne to all generations. Selah.

“Confirmaré tu descendencia para siempre, y afirmaré tu trono por todas las generaciones.”»

5 ¶ And the heavens shall praise thy wonder, O LORD, thy truth also in the congregation of the saints.

Señor, los cielos celebran tus maravillas; la congregación de los santos proclama tu verdad.

6 F or who in the heavens can be compared unto the LORD? who among the sons of the mighty can be likened unto the LORD?

¿Quién, Señor, se iguala a ti en los cielos? ¿Quién, Señor, se te compara entre los dioses?

7 G od is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints and to be had in reverence of all those that are about him.

¡Dios temible en el concilio de los santos! ¡Dios grande y terrible sobre cuantos lo rodean!

8 O LORD God of the hosts, who is like unto thee? Strong JAH, compassed about with thy truth.

Poderoso Señor, Dios de los ejércitos, ¿Quién como tú? ¡Tu fidelidad te rodea!

9 T hou dost rule the raging of the sea: when its waves arise, thou dost still them.

Tú dominas la violencia del mar; cuando sus ondas se agitan, tú las sosiegas.

10 T hou hast broken Egypt in pieces as one that is slain; thou hast scattered thine enemies with thy strong arm.

Tú aplastaste a Rajab y lo heriste de muerte; con tu brazo poderoso dispersaste a tus enemigos.

11 T he heavens are thine, the earth also is thine: the world and its fullness, thou didst found.

Tuyos son los cielos, tuya también la tierra y el mundo y su plenitud, pues tú lo fundaste.

12 T hou hast created the north and the south; Tabor and Hermon shall sing in thy name.

Tú creaste el norte y el sur; los montes Tabor y Hermón alaban tu nombre.

13 T he mighty arm is thine; strong is thy hand, and high is thy right hand.

Tuyo es el brazo poderoso; fuerte es tu mano, y exaltada tu diestra.

14 T hy throne is composed of righteousness and judgment; mercy and truth go before thy face.

Tu trono se basa en la justicia y el derecho; la misericordia y la verdad son tus heraldos.

15 ¶ Happy are the people that know how to enter into joy; they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance.

¡Dichoso el pueblo que sabe aclamarte, y que anda, Señor, a la luz de tu rostro.

16 I n thy name shall they rejoice each day; and in thy righteousness shall they be exalted.

En tu nombre se alegrará todo el día, y en tu justicia será enaltecido.

17 F or thou art the glory of their strength, and in thy favour our horn shall be exalted.

Tú eres la gloria de nuestro poder; por tu buena voluntad acrecientas nuestra fuerza.

18 F or the LORD is our shield, and the Holy One of Israel is our king.

Tú, Señor, eres nuestro escudo; tú, Santo de Israel, eres nuestro rey.

19 ¶ Then thou didst speak in vision to thy holy one and didst say, I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of my people.

En una visión a tus santos, y dijiste: «He brindado mi apoyo a un guerrero; he escogido a un joven de mi pueblo.

20 I have found David my slave; I anointed him with the oil of my holiness,

He encontrado a mi siervo David, y lo he ungido con mi santa unción.

21 w ith whom my hand shall be established; mine arm also shall strengthen him.

Mi mano estará siempre con él; mi brazo siempre lo fortalecerá.

22 T he enemy shall not overcome him, nor the son of iniquity break him down.

No lo sorprenderá el enemigo, ni le hará daño ningún malvado;

23 B ut I will break down his foes before his face and smite those that hate him.

más bien, él derrotará a sus enemigos y herirá de muerte a los que lo aborrecen.

24 B ut my truth and my mercy shall be with him, and in my name shall his horn be exalted.

Mi verdad y misericordia estarán con él, y su poder será exaltado en mi nombre.

25 I n the same manner I will set his hand also in the sea and his right hand in the rivers.

Con su mano izquierda dominará sobre el mar, y con su mano derecha dominará sobre los ríos.

26 H e shall call me, Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my saving health.

Él me dirá: “Tú eres mi padre. Eres mi Dios, la roca de mi salvación”,

27 A lso I will make him my firstborn, high above the kings of the earth.

y yo lo declararé mi primogénito, ¡el más excelso de los reyes de la tierra!

28 I will keep my mercy for him for ever, and my covenant shall stand fast with him.

Siempre seré con él misericordioso, y mi pacto con él se mantendrá firme.

29 I will also make his seed to endure for ever, and his throne as the days of the heavens.

Su descendencia permanecerá para siempre, y su trono durará mientras el cielo exista.

30 I f his sons forsake my law and do not walk in my judgments,

»Pero si sus hijos se apartan de mi ley y no andan conforme a mis decretos,

31 i f they profane my statutes and do not keep my commandments,

si transgreden mis estatutos y no cumplen mis mandamientos,

32 t hen I will visit their rebellion with the rod and their iniquity with stripes.

yo los castigaré por su rebelión; ¡los azotaré por sus iniquidades!

33 N evertheless I will not take my mercy from him, neither will I falsify my truth.

»Pero no apartaré de David mi misericordia, ni faltaré a mi verdad.

34 I will not profane my covenant, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.

No me olvidaré de mi pacto, ni me retractaré de lo que he prometido.

35 O nce have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David.

Una vez he jurado por mi santidad, y no le mentiré a David.

36 H is seed shall endure for ever and his throne as the sun before me.

Su descendencia permanecerá para siempre; su trono estará ante mí, como el sol;

37 I t shall be established for ever as the moon and as a faithful witness in heaven. Selah.

firme para siempre, como la luna; ¡como un testigo fiel en el cielo!»

38 ¶ But thou hast cast off and abhorred thine anointed; thou hast been wroth with him.

¡Pero tú has rechazado a tu ungido! ¡Lo has menospreciado! ¡Te has enojado con él!

39 T hou hast made void the covenant of thy slave; thou hast profaned his crown by casting it to the ground.

Has roto el pacto con tu siervo; ¡has echado por tierra su corona!

40 T hou hast broken down all his hedges; thou hast brought his strong holds to ruin.

Has derribado todas sus murallas; ¡has destruido sus fortalezas!

41 A ll that pass by the way spoil him; he is a reproach to his neighbours.

Todos los que van por el camino lo saquean; los pueblos vecinos se burlan de él.

42 T hou hast set up the right hand of his adversaries; thou hast made all his enemies to rejoice.

Has exaltado el poder de sus enemigos; has alegrado a todos sus adversarios.

43 T hou hast also blunted the edge of his sword and hast not made him to stand in the battle.

Le quitaste el filo a su espada, y no lo levantaste en la batalla.

44 T hou hast made his clarity to cease and cast his throne down to the ground.

Pusiste fin a su motivo de orgullo, y echaste por tierra su trono.

45 T he days of his youth hast thou shortened; thou hast covered him with shame. Selah.

Has acortado los días de su vida, y lo has cubierto de vergüenza.

46 H ow long, O LORD? wilt thou hide thyself for ever? shall thy wrath burn like fire?

Señor, ¿hasta cuándo seguirás escondido? ¿Arderá tu ira para siempre, como el fuego?

47 R emember how short my time is; why hast thou made all men subject to vanity?

Recuerda que mi vida es muy breve; ¿Por qué creaste tan frágil al género humano?

48 W hat man is he that lives and shall not see death? shall he deliver his soul from the hand of Sheol? Selah.

¿Quién puede vivir sin ver la muerte? ¿Quién puede salvarse del poder del sepulcro?

49 L ord, where are thy former mercies, which thou didst sware unto David in thy truth?

Señor, ¿dónde están tus misericordias de antaño, que una vez juraste a David por tu verdad?

50 R emember, Lord, the reproach of thy slaves; how I do bear in my bosom the reproach of many peoples,

¡Acuérdate, Señor, del oprobio de tus siervos, del oprobio de muchos pueblos, que llevo en el pecho!

51 b ecause thine enemies have dishonoured, O LORD; they have dishonoured the footsteps of thine anointed.

Tus enemigos, Señor, nos han deshonrado; ¡tus enemigos han deshonrado los pasos de tu ungido!

52 B lessed be the LORD for ever. Amen and Amen.

¡Bendito sea el Señor para siempre! ¡Amén, y Amén!
