1 ¶ Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth, may Israel now say:

Muchas han sido mis angustias desde mi juventud... —que lo reconozca el pueblo de Israel—,

2 M any a time have they afflicted me from my youth; yet they have not prevailed against me.

Muchas han sido mis angustias desde mi juventud, pero no lograron vencerme.

3 T he plowers plowed upon my back; they made long their furrows.

Sobre mis espaldas pasaron los arados y me dejaron profundas huellas,

4 T he LORD is righteous; he has cut asunder the cords of the wicked.

pero el Señor, que es justo, me libró de las ataduras de los malvados.

5 ¶ All those that hate Zion shall all be confounded and turned back.

¡Que huyan avergonzados todos los que odian a Sión!

6 T hey shall be as the grass upon the housetops, which withers before it grows up,

¡Que sean como la hierba en el tejado, que se marchita y nunca crece,

7 w ith which the reaper does not fill his hand nor he that binds sheaves his bosom.

que no alcanza a llenar la mano del segador, ni jamás llega a formar un manojo!

8 N either did those who go by say, The blessing of the LORD be upon you; we bless you in the name of the LORD.

Que nunca le digan los que pasan: «¡Que el Señor los bendiga! ¡Nosotros los bendecimos en el nombre del Señor!»
