1 ¶ O LORD, rebuke me not in thy wrath: neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.

Señor, no me reprendas en tu enojo; ¡no me castigues en tu ira!

2 F or thine arrows stick fast in me, and thy hand presses me sore.

Tus flechas se han clavado en mí; ¡sobre mí has dejado caer tu mano!

3 T here is no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin.

Por causa de tu enojo, nada sano hay en mi cuerpo; por causa de mi maldad, no hay paz en mis huesos.

4 F or my iniquities are gone over my head; as a heavy burden they are too heavy for me.

Mi pecado pesa sobre mi cabeza; ¡son una carga que ya no puedo soportar!

5 M y wounds stink and are corrupt because of my foolishness.

Por causa de mi locura, mis heridas supuran y apestan.

6 I am troubled; I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long.

Estoy abrumado, totalmente abatido; ¡todo el tiempo ando afligido.

7 F or my loins are filled with a loathsome disease, and there is no soundness in my flesh.

La espalda me arde sin cesar: ¡no hay nada sano en todo mi cuerpo!

8 I am feeble and sore broken; I roar by reason of the disquietness of my heart.

Me siento débil y en gran manera agobiado; ¡mis quejas son las de un corazón atribulado!

9 L ord, all my desire is before thee, and my groaning is not hid from thee.

Señor, tú conoces todos mis deseos; mis anhelos no te son ocultos.

10 M y heart pants, my strength fails me; as for the light of my eyes, it also is gone from me.

Mi corazón se agita, me faltan fuerzas, y hasta mis ojos se van apagando.

11 M y friends and my companions stand aloof from my sore, and my kinsmen stand afar off.

Mis mejores amigos se alejan de mis males; ¡hasta mis parientes se apartan de mí!

12 ¶ Those that seek after my life lay snares for me, and those that seek my hurt speak calamities and imagine deceits all the day long.

Hay quienes conspiran contra mi vida; buscan mi mal y tratan de arruinarme. ¡Todo el tiempo hacen planes contra mí!

13 B ut I, as a deaf man, that heard not, and as a dumb man that did not open his mouth.

Pero yo cierro los oídos, y no los oigo; finjo ser mudo y no abro la boca.

14 T hus I was as a man that does not hear, and in whose mouth are no reproofs.

Soy como los que no oyen ni profieren ningún reproche.

15 F or thee, O LORD, do I wait; thou wilt respond, O Lord my God.

Señor, yo confío en ti; ¡tú, Señor mi Dios, responderás por mí!

16 F or I said, Let them not rejoice over me; let them not magnify themselves against me when my foot slips.

Tan sólo pido que no se alegren de mí; ¡que no se burlen de mí, si acaso caigo!

17 F or I am ready to halt, and my sorrow is continually before me.

En realidad, estoy a punto de caer, y mi dolor no me abandona.

18 T herefore I will declare my iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin.

Por eso, voy a confesar mi maldad; pues me pesa haber pecado.

19 F or my enemies are alive, and they are strong, and those that hate me wrongfully are multiplied;

Mis enemigos están sanos y fuertes; aumentan los que me odian sin razón.

20 r endering evil for good they are against me because I follow that which is good.

Los que me pagan mal por bien me atacan porque prefiero hacer lo bueno.

21 F orsake me not, O LORD; O my God, be not far from me.

Señor, ¡no me abandones! Dios mío, ¡no te alejes de mí!

22 M ake haste to help me, O Lord my salvation.

Señor, mi salvador, ¡ven pronto en mi ayuda!
