1 ¶ The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad; the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the lily.

El desierto y la soledad se alegrarán; el yermo se regocijará y florecerá como la rosa;

2 I t shall blossom abundantly and shall also praise and sing for joy; the honour of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the beauty of Carmel and Sharon. They shall see the glory of the LORD and the beauty of our God.

florecerá en abundancia, y también se alegrará y cantará con júbilo, pues le serán dadas la belleza del Líbano y la hermosura del Carmelo y de Sarón. ¡Estos montes verán la gloria del Señor, ¡la hermosura de nuestro Dios!

3 C omfort ye the tired hands and strengthen the knees that tremble.

Fortalezcan las manos cansadas y afirmen las rodillas endebles.

4 S ay to those that are of a fearful heart, Be comforted, fear not; behold, your God comes with vengeance, with recompense; God himself will come and save you.

Digan a los de corazón amedrentado: «Esfuércense y no teman. ¡Miren! Aquí viene su Dios, para castigar a sus enemigos como merecen. Dios mismo viene, y él los salvará.»

5 ¶ Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.

Entonces se abrirán los ojos de los ciegos, lo mismo que los oídos de los sordos.

6 T hen the lame one shall leap as a hart, and the tongue of the dumb shall praise; for waters shall be dug in the wilderness, and streams in the desert.

Entonces los cojos saltarán como ciervos, y la lengua del mudo cantará; porque en el desierto serán cavados pozos de agua, y en la soledad correrán torrentes.

7 T he parched ground shall become a pool and the thirsty land springs of water; in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes.

El páramo se convertirá en estanque, el sequedal en manantiales de agua, y en la guarida de los chacales crecerán cañas y juncos.

8 A nd a highway shall be there and a way, and it shall be called The Way of Holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; and for those in it there shall be someone to go with them, in such a manner that the foolish shall not err therein.

Allí habrá un camino empedrado, que será llamado «Camino de Santidad». No pasará por allí nada impuro, porque Dios mismo estará con ellos. Si alguien pasa por este camino, no se extraviará, por más torpe que sea.

9 N o lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, nor shall any be found there so that the redeemed can walk there:

En ese camino no habrá leones, ni pasará por él ninguna fiera, para que los redimidos puedan transitarlo.

10 A nd the ransomed of the LORD shall return and come to Zion with songs; and everlasting joy shall be upon their heads: they shall retain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

Y los redimidos del Señor volverán. Vendrán a Sión entre gritos de infinita alegría. Cada uno de ellos tendrá gozo y alegría, y desparecerán el llanto y la tristeza.
