1 ¶ Then fourteen years later I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas and took Titus with me also.

Después de catorce años, subí otra vez a Jerusalén con Bernabé, y también llevé conmigo a Tito.

2 B ut I went up by revelation and communicated unto them the gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to those who seemed to be of repute, to not run, or have run, in vain.

Pero subí en obediencia a una revelación. Y para no correr, o para no haber corrido en vano, el evangelio que predico entre los no judíos lo expuse en privado a los que tenían cierta reputación.

3 B ut not even Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised,

Pero ni siquiera Tito, que estaba conmigo, fue obligado a circuncidarse, aunque era griego;

4 A nd that in spite of the false brethren, who entered secretly to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus that they might bring us into bondage;

y esto a pesar de los falsos hermanos introducidos a escondidas, que entraban para espiar la libertad que tenemos en Cristo Jesús y para reducirnos a esclavitud,

5 U nto whom we did not submit even for one hour that the truth of the gospel might remain with you.

a los cuales ni por un momento accedimos a someternos, para que la verdad del evangelio permaneciera con ustedes.

6 B ut of these who seemed to be of repute, (whatever they were, it makes no matter to me: God does not accept the appearance of men), for those who seemed to be of repute in conference added nothing to me;

Los que tenían fama y reputación de ser algo (lo que hayan sido en otro tiempo nada me importa; Dios no hace acepción de personas ), no me comunicaron nada nuevo.

7 B ut to the contrary, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter

Por el contrario, como vieron que me había sido encomendado el evangelio de la incircuncisión, como a Pedro el de la circuncisión

8 ( for he that showed himself forth in Peter for apostleship of the circumcision, the same also showed himself forth in me toward the Gentiles);

(pues el que actuó en Pedro para el apostolado de los judíos, actuó también en mí para con los no judíos),

9 a nd when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship that we should go unto the Gentiles, and they unto the circumcision.

y como reconocieron la gracia que me había sido dada, Jacobo, Cefas y Juan, que eran considerados como columnas, nos dieron a mí y a Bernabé la diestra en señal de compañerismo, para que nosotros fuéramos a los no judíos, y ellos a los judíos.

10 O nly they asked that we should remember the poor; the same which I was also diligent to do.

Solamente nos pidieron que nos acordáramos de los pobres; lo cual también procuré hacer con diligencia. Pablo reprende a Pedro en Antioquía

11 ¶ But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face because he was to be blamed.

Pero cuando Pedro vino a Antioquía, me enfrenté a él cara a cara, porque lo que hacía era reprochable.

12 F or before certain ones came from James, he ate with the Gentiles, but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing those who were of the circumcision.

Pues antes de que vinieran algunos de parte de Jacobo, comía con los no judíos; pero después que vinieron, se retraía y se apartaba, porque tenía miedo de los judíos.

13 A nd the other Jews dissembled likewise with him, insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their hypocrisy.

Y en su simulación participaban también los otros judíos, de modo que hasta Bernabé fue arrastrado también por la hipocresía de ellos.

14 B ut when I saw that they did not walk uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, dost live after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why dost thou compel the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?

Pero cuando vi que no andaban rectamente y conforme a la verdad del evangelio, dije a Pedro delante de todos: «Si tú, que eres judío, no vives como los judíos sino como los no judíos, ¿por qué obligas a los no judíos a hacerse judíos?»

15 W e who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles,

Nosotros somos judíos de nacimiento, y no pecadores salidos de los no judíos.

16 k nowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

Sabemos que el hombre no es justificado por las obras de la ley sino por la fe de Jesucristo, y también hemos creído en Jesucristo, para ser justificados por la fe de Cristo y no por las obras de la ley, ya que por las obras de la ley nadie será justificado.

17 B ut if, while we seek to be justified in Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of our sin? No, in no wise.

Y si al buscar ser justificados en Cristo, también nosotros somos hallados pecadores, ¿será por eso Cristo ministro de pecado? ¡De ninguna manera!

18 F or if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a rebel.

Porque si las mismas cosas que destruí, las vuelvo a edificar, me hago transgresor.

19 F or through the law I am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.

Porque yo, por la ley, soy muerto para la ley, a fin de vivir para Dios.

20 I am crucified with Christ; nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me, and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Pero con Cristo estoy juntamente crucificado, y ya no vivo yo, sino que Cristo vive en mí; y lo que ahora vivo en la carne, lo vivo en la fe del Hijo de Dios, el cual me amó y se entregó a sí mismo por mí.

21 I do not reject the grace of God, for if righteousness comes by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

No desecho la gracia de Dios; pues si la justicia dependiera de la ley, entonces por demás habría muerto Cristo.
