1 ¶ I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever; with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.

Las misericordias de Jehová cantaré perpetuamente; de generación en generación haré notoria tu fidelidad con mi boca.

2 F or I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever in the heavens; in them thou shalt establish thy truth.

Dije: «Para siempre será edificada la misericordia; en los cielos mismos afirmarás tu fidelidad.»

3 I have made a covenant with my chosen; I have sworn unto David my slave, saying,

Hice pacto con mi escogido; juré a David mi siervo, diciendo:

4 T hy seed will I establish for ever and build up thy throne to all generations. Selah.

«Para siempre confirmaré tu descendencia y edificaré tu trono por todas las generaciones.» Selah

5 ¶ And the heavens shall praise thy wonder, O LORD, thy truth also in the congregation of the saints.

Celebran los cielos tus maravillas, Jehová, tu fidelidad también en la congregación de los santos,

6 F or who in the heavens can be compared unto the LORD? who among the sons of the mighty can be likened unto the LORD?

porque ¿quién en los cielos se igualará a Jehová? ¿Quién será semejante a Jehová entre los hijos de los poderosos?

7 G od is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints and to be had in reverence of all those that are about him.

Dios temible en la gran congregación de los santos y formidable sobre todos cuantos están a su alrededor.

8 O LORD God of the hosts, who is like unto thee? Strong JAH, compassed about with thy truth.

Jehová, Dios de los ejércitos, ¿quién como tú? Poderoso eres, Jehová, y tu fidelidad te rodea.

9 T hou dost rule the raging of the sea: when its waves arise, thou dost still them.

Tú tienes dominio sobre la braveza del mar; cuando se levantan sus olas, tú las sosiegas.

10 T hou hast broken Egypt in pieces as one that is slain; thou hast scattered thine enemies with thy strong arm.

Tú quebrantaste a Rahab como a un herido de muerte; con tu brazo poderoso esparciste a tus enemigos.

11 T he heavens are thine, the earth also is thine: the world and its fullness, thou didst found.

Tuyos son los cielos, tuya también es la tierra; el mundo y su plenitud, tú lo fundaste.

12 T hou hast created the north and the south; Tabor and Hermon shall sing in thy name.

El norte y el sur, tú los creaste; el Tabor y el Hermón cantarán en tu nombre.

13 T he mighty arm is thine; strong is thy hand, and high is thy right hand.

Tuyo es el brazo potente; fuerte es tu mano, exaltada tu diestra.

14 T hy throne is composed of righteousness and judgment; mercy and truth go before thy face.

Justicia y derecho son el cimiento de tu trono; misericordia y verdad van delante de tu rostro.

15 ¶ Happy are the people that know how to enter into joy; they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance.

Bienaventurado el pueblo que sabe aclamarte; andará, Jehová, a la luz de tu rostro.

16 I n thy name shall they rejoice each day; and in thy righteousness shall they be exalted.

En tu nombre se alegrará todo el día y en tu justicia será enaltecido,

17 F or thou art the glory of their strength, and in thy favour our horn shall be exalted.

porque tú eres la gloria de su potencia y por tu buena voluntad acrecentarás nuestro poder.

18 F or the LORD is our shield, and the Holy One of Israel is our king.

Jehová es nuestro escudo; nuestro rey es el Santo de Israel.

19 ¶ Then thou didst speak in vision to thy holy one and didst say, I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of my people.

Entonces hablaste en visión a tu santo y dijiste: «He puesto el socorro sobre uno que es poderoso; he exaltado a un escogido de mi pueblo.

20 I have found David my slave; I anointed him with the oil of my holiness,

Hallé a David mi siervo; lo ungí con mi santa unción.

21 w ith whom my hand shall be established; mine arm also shall strengthen him.

Mi mano estará siempre con él; mi brazo también lo fortalecerá.

22 T he enemy shall not overcome him, nor the son of iniquity break him down.

No lo sorprenderá el enemigo ni hijo perverso lo quebrantará;

23 B ut I will break down his foes before his face and smite those that hate him.

sino que quebrantaré delante de él a sus enemigos y heriré a los que lo aborrecen.

24 B ut my truth and my mercy shall be with him, and in my name shall his horn be exalted.

Mi fidelidad y mi misericordia estarán con él y en mi nombre será exaltado su poder.

25 I n the same manner I will set his hand also in the sea and his right hand in the rivers.

Asimismo pondré su mano sobre el mar y sobre los ríos su diestra.

26 H e shall call me, Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my saving health.

Él clamará a mí, diciendo: “Mi padre eres tú, mi Dios, y la roca de mi salvación.”

27 A lso I will make him my firstborn, high above the kings of the earth.

Yo también lo pondré por primogénito, el más excelso de los reyes de la tierra.

28 I will keep my mercy for him for ever, and my covenant shall stand fast with him.

Para siempre le aseguraré mi misericordia y mi pacto será firme con él.

29 I will also make his seed to endure for ever, and his throne as the days of the heavens.

Estableceré su descendencia para siempre y su trono como los días de los cielos.

30 I f his sons forsake my law and do not walk in my judgments,

Si dejaran sus hijos mi Ley y no anduvieran en mis juicios,

31 i f they profane my statutes and do not keep my commandments,

si profanaran mis estatutos y no guardaran mis mandamientos,

32 t hen I will visit their rebellion with the rod and their iniquity with stripes.

entonces castigaré con vara su rebelión y con azotes sus maldades.

33 N evertheless I will not take my mercy from him, neither will I falsify my truth.

Pero no quitaré de él mi misericordia ni faltaré a mi fidelidad.

34 I will not profane my covenant, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.

No olvidaré mi pacto ni mudaré lo que ha salido de mis labios.

35 O nce have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David.

Una vez he jurado por mi santidad y no mentiré a David.

36 H is seed shall endure for ever and his throne as the sun before me.

Su descendencia será para siempre y su trono como el sol delante de mí.

37 I t shall be established for ever as the moon and as a faithful witness in heaven. Selah.

Como la luna será firme para siempre y como un testigo fiel en el cielo.» Selah

38 ¶ But thou hast cast off and abhorred thine anointed; thou hast been wroth with him.

Mas tú desechaste y menospreciaste a tu ungido, y te has airado con él.

39 T hou hast made void the covenant of thy slave; thou hast profaned his crown by casting it to the ground.

Rompiste el pacto de tu siervo; has profanado su corona hasta la tierra.

40 T hou hast broken down all his hedges; thou hast brought his strong holds to ruin.

Abriste brecha en todos sus muros; has destruido sus fortalezas.

41 A ll that pass by the way spoil him; he is a reproach to his neighbours.

Lo saquean todos los que pasan por el camino; es la deshonra de sus vecinos.

42 T hou hast set up the right hand of his adversaries; thou hast made all his enemies to rejoice.

Has exaltado la diestra de sus enemigos; has alegrado a todos sus adversarios.

43 T hou hast also blunted the edge of his sword and hast not made him to stand in the battle.

Embotaste asimismo el filo de su espada, y no lo levantaste en la batalla.

44 T hou hast made his clarity to cease and cast his throne down to the ground.

Hiciste cesar su gloria y echaste su trono por tierra.

45 T he days of his youth hast thou shortened; thou hast covered him with shame. Selah.

Has acortado los días de su juventud; ¡lo has cubierto de vergüenza! Selah

46 H ow long, O LORD? wilt thou hide thyself for ever? shall thy wrath burn like fire?

¿Hasta cuándo, Jehová? ¿Te esconderás para siempre? ¿Arderá tu ira como el fuego?

47 R emember how short my time is; why hast thou made all men subject to vanity?

¡Recuerda cuán breve es mi tiempo! ¿Por qué habrás creado en vano a todo hijo de hombre?

48 W hat man is he that lives and shall not see death? shall he deliver his soul from the hand of Sheol? Selah.

¿Qué hombre vivirá y no verá muerte? ¿Librará su vida del poder del seol? Selah

49 L ord, where are thy former mercies, which thou didst sware unto David in thy truth?

Señor, ¿dónde están tus antiguas misericordias, que juraste a David según tu fidelidad?

50 R emember, Lord, the reproach of thy slaves; how I do bear in my bosom the reproach of many peoples,

Señor, acuérdate del oprobio de tus siervos; oprobio de muchos pueblos, que llevo en mi seno,

51 b ecause thine enemies have dishonoured, O LORD; they have dishonoured the footsteps of thine anointed.

porque tus enemigos, Jehová, han deshonrado, porque tus enemigos han deshonrado los pasos de tu ungido.

52 B lessed be the LORD for ever. Amen and Amen.

¡Bendito sea Jehová para siempre! ¡Amén y amén!
