1 ¶ Hear ye this, O priests; and hearken, ye house of Israel; and give ear, O house of the king because the judgment is for you, for ye have been a snare in Mizpah and a net spread over Tabor.

«Sacerdotes, oíd esto, casa de Israel, estad atentos, casa del rey, escuchad: Contra vosotros es el juicio, pues habéis sido un lazo en Mizpa, una red tendida sobre Tabor.

2 A nd in killing sacrifices ye have descended into the depths; therefore, I shall be the correction of them all.

Haciendo víctimas han bajado hasta lo profundo; por tanto, los castigaré a todos ellos.

3 I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hid from me; for now, O Ephraim, thou dost commit whoredom, and Israel is defiled.

Yo conozco a Efraín, e Israel no me es desconocido; tú, Efraín, ahora te has prostituido, y se ha contaminado Israel.»

4 T hey will not think about returning unto their God; for the spirit of whoredoms is in the midst of them, and they do not know the LORD.

No piensan en convertirse a su Dios, pues en medio de ellos hay un espíritu de fornicación y no conocen a Jehová.

5 A nd the pride of Israel doth testify to his face: therefore Israel and Ephraim shall fall in their iniquity; Judah shall also fall with them.

La soberbia de Israel testificará en su contra; Israel y Efraín tropezarán por su pecado, y Judá tropezará también con ellos.

6 T hey shall go with their flocks and with their herds seeking the LORD; but they shall not find him; he has withdrawn himself from them.

Con sus ovejas y con sus vacas andarán buscando a Jehová, mas no lo hallarán: ¡Se ha apartado de ellos!

7 T hey have rebelled against the LORD; for they have begotten strange sons; now a month shall devour them with their portions.

Contra Jehová prevaricaron, porque han engendrado hijos de extraños; ahora serán consumidos en un solo mes ellos y sus heredades.

8 ¶ Blow ye the shofar in Gibeah and the trumpet in Ramah; sound the drum in Bethaven; after thee, O Benjamin.

¡Tocad la bocina en Gabaa y la trompeta en Ramá! ¡Sonad la alarma en Bet-avén! ¡Alerta, Benjamín!

9 E phraim shall be made desolate in the day of chastisement; in the tribes of Israel I made known my truth.

Efraín será asolado en el día del castigo; entre las tribus de Israel hice conocer la verdad.

10 T he princes of Judah were like those that move the boundaries; therefore I will pour out my wrath upon them like water.

«Los príncipes de Judá han sido como los que traspasan los linderos; ¡pero sobre ellos derramaré a raudales mi ira!

11 E phraim is oppressed and broken in judgment because he wanted to walk after commandments.

Efraín está oprimido, violados sus derechos, porque quiso andar en pos de vanidades.

12 T herefore I will be unto Ephraim as a moth and to the house of Judah as rottenness.

Yo, pues, seré como polilla a Efraín y como carcoma a la casa de Judá.

13 A nd Ephraim shall see his sickness and Judah his wound; then Ephraim shall go to the Assyrian and shall send to King Jareb; yet he shall not be able to heal you, nor cure you of your wound.

Verá Efraín su enfermedad y Judá su llaga; irá entonces Efraín a Asiria y pedirá ayuda al gran rey, pero él no podrá sanaros ni os curará la llaga.

14 F or I will be unto Ephraim as a lion and as a young lion to the house of Judah; I, even I, will tear and go away; I will take away, and there shall be no one left to escape.

Porque yo seré como león a Efraín y como cachorro de león a la casa de Judá; yo, yo mismo los despedazaré, y me iré; los arrebataré, y nadie podrá librarlos. Insinceridad del arrepentimiento de Israel

15 I will go and return to my place until they acknowledge their guilt and seek my face; in their affliction they will seek me early.

»Volveré luego a mi lugar, hasta que reconozcan su pecado y busquen mi rostro. ¡En medio de su angustia me buscarán!»
