1 ¶ Let us reckon men as ministers of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.

Por tanto, que los hombres nos consideren como servidores de Cristo y administradores de los misterios de Dios.

2 M oreover, it is required in stewards that each one be found faithful.

Ahora bien, lo que se requiere de los administradores es que cada uno sea hallado fiel.

3 B ut with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you or by man’s judgment; I do not even judge my own self.

En cuanto a mí, en muy poco tengo el ser juzgado por vosotros o por tribunal humano. ¡Ni aun yo mismo me juzgo!

4 F or although I have nothing on my conscience, yet am I not hereby justified, but he that judges me is the Lord.

Aunque de nada tengo mala conciencia, no por eso soy justificado; pero el que me juzga es el Señor.

5 T herefore, judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts; and then shall each one have praise of God.

Así que no juzguéis nada antes de tiempo, hasta que venga el Señor, el cual aclarará también lo oculto de las tinieblas y manifestará las intenciones de los corazones. Entonces, cada uno recibirá su alabanza de Dios.

6 A nd these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes, that in us ye might not learn above that which is written, lest because of one, some of you become puffed up against others.

Pero esto, hermanos, lo he presentado como ejemplo en mí y en Apolos por amor a vosotros, para que en nosotros aprendáis a no pensar más de lo que está escrito, no sea que por causa de uno os envanezcáis unos contra otros,

7 ¶ For who makes thee to judge? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, what dost thou glory of, as if thou hadst not received it?

porque ¿quién te hace superior? ¿Y qué tienes que no hayas recibido? Y si lo recibiste, ¿por qué te glorías como si no lo hubieras recibido?

8 N ow ye are full, now ye are rich, ye reign as kings without us, and I wish ye did reign, that we also might reign with you.

Ya estáis saciados, ya sois ricos, sin nosotros reináis. ¡Y ojalá reinarais, para que nosotros reináramos también juntamente con vosotros!,

9 F or I think that God has set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death; for we are made a spectacle unto the world and to angels and to men.

porque, según pienso, Dios nos ha puesto a nosotros los apóstoles en el último lugar, como a sentenciados a muerte. ¡Hemos llegado a ser un espectáculo para el mundo, para los ángeles y para los hombres!

10 W e are fools for Christ’s sake, but ye are prudent in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honourable, but we are despised.

Nosotros somos insensatos por causa de Cristo, y vosotros sois prudentes en Cristo; nosotros débiles, y vosotros fuertes; vosotros sois honorables, y nosotros despreciados.

11 E ven unto this present hour we both hunger and thirst and are ill clad and are buffeted and have no certain dwellingplace

Hasta el día de hoy padecemos hambre y tenemos sed, estamos desnudos, somos abofeteados y no tenemos lugar fijo donde vivir.

12 a nd labour, working with our own hands; being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it;

Nos fatigamos trabajando con nuestras propias manos; nos maldicen, y bendecimos; padecemos persecución, y la soportamos.

13 b eing blasphemed, we intreat; we are made as the filth of this world and are the offscouring of all things unto this day.

Nos difaman, y respondemos con bondad; hemos venido a ser hasta ahora como la escoria del mundo, el desecho de todos.

14 ¶ I do not write these things to shame you, but to warn you, as to my beloved sons.

No escribo esto para avergonzaros, sino para amonestaros como a hijos míos amados.

15 F or though ye may have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet ye shall not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.

Aunque tengáis diez mil maestros en Cristo, no tendréis muchos padres, pues en Cristo Jesús yo os engendré por medio del evangelio.

16 T herefore, I beseech you that ye imitate me.

Por tanto, os ruego que me imitéis.

17 ¶ For this cause I have sent Timothy unto you, who is my beloved son and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which are in Christ, as I teach everywhere in every congregation.

Por esto mismo os he enviado a Timoteo, que es mi hijo amado y fiel en el Señor, el cual os recordará mi proceder en Cristo, de la manera que enseño en todas partes y en todas las iglesias.

18 N ow some are puffed up as though I will never come to you.

Algunos están envanecidos, como si yo nunca hubiera de ir a vosotros.

19 B ut I will come to you shortly, if the Lord wills, and will know not the words of those who are puffed up, but the virtue.

Pero iré pronto a visitaros, si el Señor quiere, y conoceré, no las palabras, sino el poder de los que andan envanecidos,

20 F or the kingdom of God is not in words, but in virtue.

pues el reino de Dios no consiste en palabras, sino en poder.

21 W hat will ye? Shall I come unto you with a rod or in charity and in the spirit of meekness?

¿Qué queréis? ¿Iré a vosotros con vara, o con amor y espíritu de mansedumbre?
