1 ¶ Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.

«¡Levántate, resplandece, porque ha venido tu luz y la gloria de Jehová ha nacido sobre ti!

2 F or, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the peoples: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

Porque he aquí que tinieblas cubrirán la tierra y oscuridad las naciones; mas sobre ti amanecerá Jehová y sobre ti será vista su gloria.

3 A nd the Gentiles shall walk to thy light, and the kings to the brightness of thy birth.

Andarán las naciones a tu luz y los reyes al resplandor de tu amanecer.

4 L ift up thine eyes round about and see: they all gather themselves together; they come to thee; thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side.

Alza tus ojos alrededor y mira: todos estos se han juntado, vienen hacia ti. Tus hijos vendrán de lejos y a tus hijas las traerán en brazos.

5 T hen thou shall see, and thou shall shine, and thine heart shall marvel, and be enlarged because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the strength of the Gentiles shall have come unto thee.

Entonces lo verás y resplandecerás. Se maravillará y ensanchará tu corazón porque se habrá vuelto a ti la abundancia del mar y las riquezas de las naciones habrán llegado hasta ti.

6 T he multitude of camels shall cover thee, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all those from Sheba shall come: they shall bring gold and incense; and they shall show forth the praises of the LORD.

Multitud de camellos te cubrirá y dromedarios de Madián y de Efa. Vendrán todos los de Sabá trayendo oro e incienso, y publicarán las alabanzas de Jehová.

7 A ll the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together unto thee, rams of Nebaioth shall be served unto thee: they shall be offered up with grace upon my altar, and I will glorify the house of my glory.

Todo el ganado de Cedar será reunido para ti; carneros de Nebaiot estarán a tu servicio. Serán una ofrenda agradable sobre mi altar, y daré esplendor a la casa de mi gloria.

8 W ho are these that fly as a cloud, and as the doves to their windows?

»¿Quiénes son estos que vuelan como nubes y como palomas a sus ventanas?

9 ¶ For the isles shall wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish from the first, to bring thy sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, unto the name of the LORD thy God, and to the Holy One of Israel, who has glorified thee.

Ciertamente, en mí esperarán los de las costas, y las naves de Tarsis desde el principio, para traer tus hijos de lejos, su plata y su oro con ellos, al nombre de Jehová tu Dios y al Santo de Israel, que te ha glorificado.

10 A nd the sons of strangers shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall serve thee; for in my wrath I smote thee, but in my good favour I shall have mercy on thee.

Extranjeros edificarán tus muros y sus reyes estarán a tu servicio, porque en mi ira te castigué, mas en mi buena voluntad tendré de ti misericordia.

11 T herefore thy gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; that the strength of the Gentiles may be brought unto thee, and their kings guided.

Tus puertas estarán de continuo abiertas: no se cerrarán de día ni de noche, para que a ti sean traídas las riquezas de las naciones y conducidos hasta ti sus reyes,

12 F or the people or the kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish and shall be utterly wasted.

porque la nación o el reino que no quiera servirte, perecerá; del todo será asolado.

13 T he glory of Lebanon shall come unto thee, the fir tree, the pine tree, and the box together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will honour the place of my feet.

»La gloria del Líbano vendrá a ti: cipreses, pinos y bojes juntamente, para embellecer el lugar de mi santuario; y yo glorificaré el lugar de mis pies.

14 T he sons also of those that afflicted thee shall come humbled unto thee; and at the steps of thy feet all those that despised thee shall bow themselves down; and they shall call thee, The city of the LORD, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

Y vendrán a ti humillados los hijos de los que te afligieron, y a las plantas de tus pies se encorvarán todos los que te despreciaban, y te llamarán “Ciudad de Jehová”, “Sión del Santo de Israel”.

15 ¶ Whereas thou hast been forsaken and hated, so that no man went through thee, I will place thee in eternal glory, in joy from generation to generation.

En vez de estar abandonada y aborrecida, tanto que nadie transitaba por ti, haré que tengas renombre eterno, que seas el gozo de todas las generaciones.

16 T hou shalt also suck the milk of the Gentiles, and shalt suck the breast of the kings: and thou shalt know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.

Mamarás la leche de las naciones, el pecho de los reyes mamarás; y sabrás que yo, Jehová, soy tu Salvador, tu Redentor, el Fuerte de Jacob.

17 F or brass I will bring gold, and for iron I will bring silver, and for wood brass, and for the stones iron; I will also put peace in the place of thy government, and righteousness in the place of thine oppressors.

»En vez de bronce traeré oro, y plata en lugar de hierro; bronce en lugar de madera, y hierro en lugar de piedras. Te daré la paz por magistrado, y la justicia por gobernante.

18 V iolence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Saving Health and thy gates Praise.

Nunca más se hablará de violencia en tu tierra, ni de destrucción o quebrantamiento en tu territorio, sino que llamarás “Salvación” a tus muros, y a tus puertas “Alabanza”.

19 T he sun shall no longer be thy light by day; nor shall the moon give light unto thee for brightness; but the LORD shall be unto thee an everlasting light and thy God thy glory.

»El sol nunca más te servirá de luz para el día ni el resplandor de la luna te alumbrará, sino que Jehová te será por luz eterna y el Dios tuyo será tu esplendor.

20 T hy sun shall set no more; neither shall thy moon wane: for the LORD shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.

No se pondrá jamás tu sol ni menguará tu luna, porque Jehová te será por luz eterna y los días de tu luto se habrán cumplido.

21 A nd thy people shall all be righteous; they shall inherit the land for ever; they shall be shoots of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.

»Todo tu pueblo, todos ellos, serán justos. Para siempre heredarán la tierra; serán los renuevos de mi plantío, obra de mis manos, para glorificarme.

22 T he small one shall be as a thousand; the youngest as a strong nation; I the LORD will hasten it in its time.

El pequeño llegará a ser un millar; del menor saldrá un pueblo poderoso. Yo Jehová, a su tiempo haré que esto se cumpla pronto.
