1 ¶ Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.

Levántate, resplandece, porque ha llegado tu luz y la gloria del Señor ha amanecido sobre ti.

2 F or, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the peoples: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

Porque he aquí, tinieblas cubrirán la tierra y densa oscuridad los pueblos; pero sobre ti amanecerá el Señor, y sobre ti aparecerá su gloria.

3 A nd the Gentiles shall walk to thy light, and the kings to the brightness of thy birth.

Y acudirán las naciones a tu luz, y los reyes al resplandor de tu amanecer.

4 L ift up thine eyes round about and see: they all gather themselves together; they come to thee; thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side.

Levanta tus ojos en derredor y mira: todos se reúnen, vienen a ti; tus hijos vendrán de lejos, y tus hijas serán llevadas en brazos.

5 T hen thou shall see, and thou shall shine, and thine heart shall marvel, and be enlarged because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the strength of the Gentiles shall have come unto thee.

Entonces lo verás y resplandecerás, y se estremecerá y se regocijará tu corazón, porque vendrá sobre ti la abundancia del mar, las riquezas de las naciones vendrán a ti.

6 T he multitude of camels shall cover thee, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all those from Sheba shall come: they shall bring gold and incense; and they shall show forth the praises of the LORD.

Una multitud de camellos te cubrirá, camellos jóvenes de Madián y de Efa; todos los de Sabá vendrán, traerán oro e incienso, y traerán buenas nuevas de las alabanzas del Señor.

7 A ll the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together unto thee, rams of Nebaioth shall be served unto thee: they shall be offered up with grace upon my altar, and I will glorify the house of my glory.

Todos los rebaños de Cedar serán reunidos para ti, los carneros de Nebaiot estarán a tu servicio; subirán como ofrenda agradable sobre mi altar, y yo glorificaré la casa de mi gloria.

8 W ho are these that fly as a cloud, and as the doves to their windows?

¿Quiénes son éstos que vuelan como nubes, y como palomas a sus ventanas ?

9 ¶ For the isles shall wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish from the first, to bring thy sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, unto the name of the LORD thy God, and to the Holy One of Israel, who has glorified thee.

Ciertamente las costas me esperarán, y las naves de Tarsis vendrán primero, para traer a tus hijos de lejos, y su plata y su oro con ellos, por el nombre del Señor tu Dios, y por el Santo de Israel que El te ha glorificado.

10 A nd the sons of strangers shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall serve thee; for in my wrath I smote thee, but in my good favour I shall have mercy on thee.

Extranjeros edificarán tus murallas, y sus reyes te servirán; porque en mi furor te herí, pero en mi benevolencia he tenido compasión de ti.

11 T herefore thy gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; that the strength of the Gentiles may be brought unto thee, and their kings guided.

Tus puertas estarán abiertas de continuo; ni de día ni de noche se cerrarán, para que te traigan las riquezas de las naciones, con sus reyes llevados en procesión.

12 F or the people or the kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish and shall be utterly wasted.

Porque la nación y el reino que no te sirvan, perecerán, y esas naciones serán ciertamente destruidas.

13 T he glory of Lebanon shall come unto thee, the fir tree, the pine tree, and the box together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will honour the place of my feet.

La gloria del Líbano vendrá a ti, el ciprés, el olmo y el boj a una, para hermosear el lugar de mi santuario; y yo haré glorioso el lugar de mis pies.

14 T he sons also of those that afflicted thee shall come humbled unto thee; and at the steps of thy feet all those that despised thee shall bow themselves down; and they shall call thee, The city of the LORD, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

Vendrán a ti humillados los hijos de los que te afligieron, se postrarán a las plantas de tus pies todos los que te despreciaban, y te llamarán Ciudad del Señor, Sion del Santo de Israel.

15 ¶ Whereas thou hast been forsaken and hated, so that no man went through thee, I will place thee in eternal glory, in joy from generation to generation.

Por cuanto tú estabas abandonada y aborrecida, sin que nadie pasara por ti, haré de ti gloria eterna, gozo de generación en generación.

16 T hou shalt also suck the milk of the Gentiles, and shalt suck the breast of the kings: and thou shalt know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.

Y mamarás la leche de las naciones, al pecho de los reyes mamarás; entonces sabrás que yo, el Señor, soy tu Salvador y tu Redentor, el Poderoso de Jacob.

17 F or brass I will bring gold, and for iron I will bring silver, and for wood brass, and for the stones iron; I will also put peace in the place of thy government, and righteousness in the place of thine oppressors.

En vez de bronce, traeré oro, en vez de hierro, traeré plata, en vez de madera, bronce, y en vez de piedras, hierro. Pondré como tus administradores la paz, y como tus gobernantes la justicia.

18 V iolence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Saving Health and thy gates Praise.

No se oirá hablar más de violencia en tu tierra, ni de desolación, ni de destrucción dentro de tus límites; sino que llamarás a tus murallas salvación y a tus puertas alabanza.

19 T he sun shall no longer be thy light by day; nor shall the moon give light unto thee for brightness; but the LORD shall be unto thee an everlasting light and thy God thy glory.

Ya el sol no será para ti luz del día, ni el resplandor de la luna te alumbrará; sino que tendrás al Señor por luz eterna, y a tu Dios por tu gloria.

20 T hy sun shall set no more; neither shall thy moon wane: for the LORD shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.

Nunca más se pondrá tu sol, ni menguará tu luna, porque tendrás al Señor por luz eterna, y se habrán acabado los días de tu luto.

21 A nd thy people shall all be righteous; they shall inherit the land for ever; they shall be shoots of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.

Entonces todos los de tu pueblo serán justos; para siempre poseerán la tierra, vástago de mi plantío, obra de mis manos, para que yo me glorifique.

22 T he small one shall be as a thousand; the youngest as a strong nation; I the LORD will hasten it in its time.

El más pequeño llegará a ser un millar, y el más insignificante una nación poderosa. Yo, el Señor, a su tiempo lo apresuraré.
